How to Get Metal Sheets in Enshrouded Game

Guides

Forging your path to survival in Enshrouded isn’t just about battling foes-it’s about mastering the art of crafting. If you want to upgrade your armor, build powerful shields, or unlock advanced tools, you’ll need one crucial resource: metal sheets. But unlike other loot, these can’t be found-they must be forged from scratch, and the journey starts with awakening the Blacksmith and gathering the right materials. Ready to turn scraps into strength? Here’s how to make metal sheets and power up your adventure.

Where to find the Blacksmith in Enshrouded

To craft metal sheets in Enshrouded, you’ll first need to unlock the Blacksmith, Oswald Anders, by completing the early quest “Find the Sleeping Survivor.” The Blacksmith’s Ancient Vault is located just northwest of your starting base-marked on your map-and can be accessed by following the path toward Braelyn Bridge. Once you rescue him, use the Summoning Staff to place him in your base and ensure he is sheltered so you can access his crafting stations, including the Forge needed to turn metal scraps into metal sheets.

Before you can do anything with metal (either metal scraps or metal sheets) in Enshrouded, you’ll need to find and awaken the Blacksmith as part of the “Find the Sleeping Survivor” quest.

You’ll find him in the Ancient Vault – Blacksmith a bit north-northwest of the Cinder Vault just a little south-southwest of the Ancient Spire – Springlands Fast Travel.

Once you place him at your base with a summoning staff (1 twig), you’ll be able to interact with him and start making metal gear and a couple new workbenches: a charcoal kiln (20 stone) and a forge (30 stone, 10 metal scraps, 10 charcoal, and 12 wood logs). Charcoal kilns turn 17 wood logs and 3 dirt (that you get from using a pickaxe literally anywhere on the ground) into 15 charcoal.

The forge will turn 2 charcoal and 2 metal scraps into 1 metal sheet.

What to use metal sheets for in Enshrouded

Metal sheets in Enshrouded are a key crafting material used mainly for making armor and shields, such as the Rising Fighter set and various shields like the Spectral Shield and Valiant Shield. Beyond protective gear, metal sheets are also required for crafting important tools and equipment, including the grappling hook anchors, kettles, ovens, medium chests, and even decorative or functional items like the Cyclops Showcase and Medium Crypt Table. As you progress, metal sheets become essential for upgrading your gear and expanding your crafting options, making them a valuable resource throughout your adventure.

At this point in the game, metal sheets will mostly be used for armor and shields. The Blacksmith can make you the Rising Fighter shield (6 string, 6 metal sheets, and 2 wood logs) and the Rising Fighter Set (a total of 9 metal sheets, 12 animal fur, 10 resin, 12 string).

What’s the secret to crafting Metal Sheets quickly in Enshrouded

The secret to crafting Metal Sheets quickly in Enshrouded is to streamline your resource gathering and production process:

  • Farm Metal Scraps Efficiently: Head to the Cinder Vault, the location where you first spawned in the game. Smash the metal pods with a pickaxe-each pod drops three metal scraps, and the pods respawn after some time or when you relog, allowing for repeat farming runs.

  • Produce Charcoal in Bulk: Gather wood logs and dirt, then use a Charcoal Kiln to convert them into charcoal. Both resources are abundant and easy to collect, so keep your kiln running whenever possible.

  • Set Up Your Forge Early: After awakening the Blacksmith and building your Forge, keep it constantly working on Metal Sheets by feeding it batches of 2 metal scraps and 2 charcoal per sheet.

  • Optimize Your Routes: Combine trips for metal scraps and wood/dirt collection to minimize downtime. Always repair your pickaxe before heading out to farm pods so you can maximize each run.

By focusing on high-yield scrap locations and keeping your production stations active, you’ll be able to craft Metal Sheets much faster and keep your equipment upgrades on track.

What are the fastest ways to farm Metal Scraps in Enshrouded

The fastest ways to farm Metal Scraps in Enshrouded are:

  • Smash Spawn Pods in Cinder Vault: Fast travel to the Cinder Vault (your starting area), head to the room where you first spawned, and break the metal pods with a pickaxe. Each pod reliably drops three metal scraps. These pods respawn after a short time or when you relog, allowing for repeated farming runs.

  • Defeat Scavenger Enemies: Scavengers, found roaming outside the Shroud and around ruins, are the most efficient enemy type for farming metal scraps. They drop varying amounts of the resource upon defeat.

  • Destroy Metal Objects in Ruins: Explore ruins and settlements for metal beds, reinforced barricades, and scrap carriages. Breaking these with a pickaxe yields metal scraps, often faster than hunting enemies.

  • Loot Chests and Workbenches: Metal scraps can also be found in chests or on abandoned workbenches in ruins, though this method is less consistent than the others.

For optimal efficiency, combine these methods and reset locations by relogging to maximize scrap collection per run.
