If you’re not familiar with the gacha-mobile game model, Infinity Nikki can be overwhelming – and honestly, even if you are familiar with them, it’s still a lot to take in at once, as it has a bit of a different gameplay loop than you may be used to.

Below, we provide some tips for getting started in Infinity Nikki to assist both completely new players and gacha experts alike.

Yes, it’s a gacha game!

Yes, it’s a gacha game!

Infinity Nikki embraces the gacha game format but with a unique twist: instead of pulling for characters, players collect clothing pieces to assemble complete outfits for Nikki. Each outfit can require multiple pieces, and the game features a pity system guaranteeing a 5-star piece after 20 pulls, making the collection process rewarding and strategic. These outfits are not just cosmetic; they also provide abilities that help with exploration, puzzle-solving, and fashion battles throughout the open world of Miraland. This fresh approach to gacha mechanics blends fashion and adventure, offering a distinctive experience compared to typical character-based gacha games.

Before you get too excited about a new shiny free-to-play open world game, note that, yep, Infinity Nikki is a gacha game (just like the other titles in the franchise). While this won’t be surprising for fans of Nikki games, just remember that it’ll offer you a lot of microtransactions, and tons of the fanciest outfits are going to be locked behind the RNG gacha system. Play and purchase responsibly!

Rather than building for combat, you improve your outfits

Rather than focusing on combat, Infinity Nikki emphasizes improving your outfits to progress. You upgrade your clothing through the Glow Up system, which boosts the stats of individual pieces, enhancing your performance in style challenges and other competitions. This requires collecting resources like Blings, Threads of Purity, and Shiny Bubbles. Additionally, evolving outfits unlocks new color variations and visual improvements, allowing for both functional and aesthetic enhancements. Ability Outfits, which grant special abilities like floating or purifying, can also be upgraded for better effectiveness, but their utility improvements come from leveling up in the Heart of Infinity rather than just stat boosts. Prioritizing outfit upgrades is essential to succeed in the game’s challenges and to customize Nikki’s look and abilities.

Similar games in this genre (like Genshin Impact or Wuthering Waves) have you leveling up your characters, weapons, and specialized equipment for each character, but in Infinity Nikki, you’re leveling up the visual stats on your clothes. This has no effect on your combat (which is just firing a simple orb at enemies), but it does help you beat styling duels, which require you to set Nikki up with an outfit that meets a certain stat requirement.

Don’t be intimidated by the sheer number of menus

Don’t be intimidated by the sheer number of menus in Infinity Nikki. While the game offers a rich and complex interface with many features, each menu serves a clear purpose that supports your journey through Miraland. Take your time to explore them gradually-menus for outfits, crafting, quests, and events all help you manage resources, unlock abilities, and progress smoothly. As you familiarize yourself with these options, you’ll find that the menus become intuitive tools rather than obstacles, making your adventure more enjoyable and efficient.

Everything in this game is more confusing than it looks – and it admittedly looks pretty confusing. Your Pear-Pal menu will fill up with icons quickly, each taking you to a different menu, but these jargony names can be simplified down once you realize what they actually mean. Your “courses” are your achievements, “glow up” is upgrading your outfits, “Mira Journey” is the battle pass, and so forth. Take a second to skim through all of the menus until it clicks, just to avoid later frustration and confusion.

Take things at your own pace

When starting Infinity Nikki, it’s best to take things at your own pace. The game offers a vast open world filled with quests, exploration, and outfit collection, which can be overwhelming if rushed. Focus on completing daily mini quests and main story missions steadily, gather resources as you explore, and avoid spending all your materials or energy impulsively. This approach allows you to enjoy the story fully, build your wardrobe thoughtfully, and gradually unlock new abilities without feeling pressured. Taking your time helps you appreciate the game’s depth and ensures a more rewarding and relaxed experience.

There is a ton of content in this game at launch. While doing the main story bits, you’ll run into and accidentally start dozens of side quests. The map is filled with people to have styling duels against. You’ll collect tons of outfit pieces that you’ll want to craft and equip. Take it a step at a time and focus on things you want to first. There’s no need to rush through all the content.

Pick up everything you find

In Infinity Nikki, make sure to pick up every item you come across during your exploration. Collecting all materials, flowers, fruits, and even seemingly minor objects contributes to your Collection Insight, which unlocks special Sketches and rewards in the Heart of Infinity. Using Momo’s View helps spot hidden resources like Whimstars and Dew of Inspiration, ensuring you don’t miss valuable items. Gathering everything not only aids in crafting and evolving outfits but also smooths your progression by unlocking new abilities and enhancing Nikki’s journey through Miraland.

As you run around the world, you’ll quickly find a lot of little collectables. Between flowers, fish, bugs, and animal fur, you’ll want to amass a bunch of these things. Not only do you need this stuff for crafting new clothing pieces, but you’ll want to trade it to get loads of Insight, a currency you need to expand your skill tree. Rolling for a four-star fishing outfit in the gacha won’t improve your fishing skills, but collecting loads of Fishing Insight and upgrading your skill tree will.

Don’t sleep on collecting Whimstars

Whimstars are essential collectibles in Infinity Nikki that you should never overlook. These star-shaped items are scattered throughout Miraland and are crucial for unlocking and upgrading nodes in the Heart of Infinity, which in turn enhance Nikki’s abilities and unlock powerful outfits. Using Momo’s ability to track Whimstars makes collecting them much easier, as he alerts you to nearby stars and marks their locations. Whimstars come in various forms, requiring different methods to obtain them-ranging from solving puzzles and chasing them down to using special outfits and abilities. Prioritizing Whimstar collection early on will pay off significantly, as you’ll need a substantial number to fully upgrade your skills and outfits, making your journey smoother and more enjoyable.

Several points of the main story will tell you that you cannot continue until you collect more Whimstars. That said, pay attention to Momo when he says there’s a Whimstar nearby. If it’s not horrendously out of the way, you should go get it to avoid getting your story progress blocked. It’s much easier to find Whimstars when you’re running around new areas than it is to backtrack them when you absolutely need them.

You’ll also need Whimstars to upgrade your skill tree, so. yeah, don’t skimp on the Whimstars.

Spend your Vital Energy at warp spires

In Infinity Nikki, spending your Vital Energy wisely at Warp Spires is crucial for efficient progression. Warp Spires serve as fast travel points and hubs where you can engage in Realm Challenges that consume Vital Energy to earn valuable rewards such as upgrade materials, progression items, and supplementary gear. Since you receive a limited amount of Vital Energy daily (350 points replenished gradually), prioritizing its use in these challenges maximizes your resource gain and helps you advance faster. Activating and revisiting Warp Spires allows you to farm materials and complete activities essential for upgrading outfits and unlocking new abilities, making them a key focus for managing your Vital Energy effectively.

It can be easy to forget to do this as you progress through the story, but this is a mobile game at heart, which means there’s a stamina system. Your Vital Energy will recharge over time and you can use it at warp spires to do a plethora of things: fight bosses to get special drops needed to make clothes, farm eureka (special equips that boost your styling stats), trade collected items for Insight, and more.

You’ll also amass a ton of EXP to increase your Mira Level, so spending your Vital Energy is a must-do.

Fulfill your daily wishes

To fulfill your daily wishes in Infinity Nikki, make sure to complete all daily mini quests and use up your energy efficiently to claim all available rewards. Focus on collecting plants and other materials as daily wish tasks often involve gathering specific items, which contribute to your progress and resource pool. Engaging in daily activities not only helps you accumulate valuable items like Whimstars and crafting materials but also ensures steady advancement in the game’s storyline and events. Prioritizing these daily goals maximizes your rewards and supports your journey through Miraland with ease and style.

Your daily wishes are a set of tasks that you’ll get every day, as the name implies. Fulfilling these will give you premium currency, money, and lots of EXP, so don’t forget to check to see what your tasks are for the day. Most of them can be completed just by playing the game, but there’s no harm in double checking.

You’ll also need to amass the wishes from here to level up in the courses menu.

Keep your eye out for promotional codes

Keep your eye out for promotional codes as they are a valuable resource for boosting your progress in Infinity Nikki. These codes, often released during special events, updates, or livestreams, grant free rewards such as Diamonds, Bling, Shiny Bubbles, and outfit materials, which can significantly reduce grinding and help you unlock new outfits faster. Since codes are time-limited and case-sensitive, it’s important to redeem them promptly through the in-game settings menu on mobile or PC. Staying updated by following official social media channels or community trackers ensures you never miss out on these beneficial bonuses.

As with the rest of the games in this genre, the social media accounts for Infinity Nikki occasionally hand out promotional codes to use in game that fork over a handful of the premium currency, crafting materials, money, and other useful goodies. If you don’t want to be on social media (understandable), we have a guide that stays updated with all the codes you’ll need to get that free Nikki loot.

Keep track of your findings with an interactive map

To keep track of your discoveries in Infinity Nikki, use the interactive map of Miraland, which allows you to mark and monitor all important locations such as Whimstars, treasure chests, Dew of Inspiration, and Warp Spires. By registering an account on the map platform, you can save your progress, add personal notes, and track your collection completion in real time. The map also lets you place custom markers for materials or mini-games, and you can even mark found items to avoid revisiting them unnecessarily. This tool is essential for efficient exploration and ensures you don’t miss any valuable items or quests as you adventure through the game’s world.

If you plan on going hard with collectables – grabbing every Whimstar, chest, and Dew of Inspiration – you’ll want to keep track on what you’ve found and what you still need to grab. Just like for other open-world games, we recommend using an interactive map where you can mark your findings and keep track of what you’ve found already. While we don’t have an on-site interactive map for you, we liked using this one by IMapp.

What are the most overlooked tips to master Infinity Nikki quickly

Here are some of the most overlooked tips to master Infinity Nikki quickly:

  • Hold jump to perform a higher, floatier leap that helps Nikki reach umbrellas and higher ledges more easily, rather than just double-tapping jump.

  • Collect everything you encounter during exploration, even if you don’t need it immediately, as materials are crucial for crafting and upgrading outfits later.

  • Use the ground-pound ability to break hard-to-destroy objects like nuts, boxes, and boards that normal attacks can’t break, yielding valuable materials and sometimes treasure chests.

  • Activate and utilize Warp Spires early and often for fast travel and quick revival, making exploration and resource farming more efficient.

  • Leverage outfit abilities without wearing the corresponding outfit; you can mix and match for style while still using special powers like Float or Purification Orb to navigate or defeat enemies.

  • Use Momo’s View to track hidden resources like Whimstars and Dew of Inspiration, which are vital for unlocking outfits and crafting.

  • When stuck on jumping puzzles, adjust the camera to focus on Nikki’s shadow to better judge jump distances and heights.

  • Use jump slam (ground-pound from the air) to clear groups of enemies quickly and interact with environmental objects like catapults for easier navigation.

Mastering these subtle mechanics and strategies will significantly speed up your progress and enjoyment in Infinity Nikki.

How does mastering high jumps and gliding speed up your progress

Mastering high jumps and gliding in Infinity Nikki significantly speeds up your progress by enhancing your exploration efficiency and resource collection. High jumps allow Nikki to reach higher platforms, hidden areas, and collectibles that are otherwise inaccessible, unlocking new outfits and materials faster. Gliding extends your airtime, enabling you to cross large gaps safely and discover secrets without backtracking. Together, these abilities reduce time spent navigating obstacles and make gathering essential crafting resources and Whimstars more efficient, accelerating your overall advancement in the game.
