How to build a village in Lego Fortnite Odyssey

To build a village in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, start by selecting an ideal location near essential resources like wood, granite, and food such as pumpkins and raspberries to ensure survival and growth. Begin your village by constructing key structures including a campfire, crafting bench, and your first shack. Then, build the Village Square, which acts as the hub for managing and upgrading your village. Once placed, you can customize your village’s icon, color, and name. From there, expand your village by adding buildings, decorations, and inviting villagers, which will increase your Village Rating and unlock new features and recipes. Building on flat terrain is recommended to avoid difficulties with slopes or valleys.

Starting a village in Lego Fortnite just means building a Village Square. Playing through the tutorial, it won’t unlock until you’ve built (at least) a campfire and simple shack.

The Village Square requires 10 wood and 10granite to build.

With the Village Square built, you’ll assign a color and symbol to your village’s map icon. You cannot, however, rename the village.

Once that’s in place, you’ll start getting rewards and unlocking new mechanics based on your village’s level. And to improve your level (and upgrade your village), we need to talk about village rating.

How to improve your village rating in Lego Fortnite Odyssey

To improve your village rating in Lego Fortnite Odyssey, focus on building and decorating extensively within your village boundaries. Constructing various buildings such as crafting benches, lumber mills, and other stations significantly boosts your rating. Adding small objects like chairs, chests, and decorations also contributes to raising the rating. Engaging in new activities like farming or upgrading existing structures can help as well. Your village rating is visually represented by a yellow progress bar in the Upgrade Village menu and on-screen when in the village. Increasing this rating is essential for unlocking new villagers, perks, and recipes at each upgrade level.

Your village rating is basically a measure of how much building you’ve done and what kind of stuff you’ve built. Think of it like a comfort rating.

The more you build and the more different stuff (everything from walls to new workbenches to decorations count) you build, the more your village rating will increase. When it has increased enough to level up your village, the Village Square will glow gold. And that means you’re ready to upgrade your village.

You can also track your village rating with the progress bar in the top right of your HUD.

How to upgrade your village in Lego Fortnite Odyssey

To upgrade your village in Lego Fortnite Odyssey, start by building the village square, which serves as the hub for all upgrades. Your village begins at level one once the village square is placed. To increase your village’s level, you need to raise its comfort level by constructing buildings, adding decorations, and completing quests. Each upgrade requires meeting specific resource and comfort thresholds, unlocking new recipes, villager slots, animal slots, and perks. When ready, interact with the village square to access the Village Menu, where you can track your progress and upgrade your village. Building beds is essential to invite new villagers, and managing residents and rewards is done through dedicated tabs in the menu. Upgrading your village not only expands your community but also enhances your survival capabilities in the game.

Once you’ve improved your village rating enough to progress to the next level, head to the Village Square. In its menu, switch over to the Upgrade Village tab and you’ll see the requirements for the next level, along with the benefits you’ll get from unlocking that level.

From there, all that’s left is to gather the stuff and hit the button. The only catch is that each biome has different requirements for upgrading your village.

For Grasslands biome villages, you’ll need:

Lego Fortnite Grasslands village upgrades and requirements

In Lego Fortnite Odyssey, upgrading the Grasslands village involves progressing through ten levels, each with specific material requirements and unlocking various rewards. Starting at level 1, you need 15 Wood and 15 Granite, with no immediate rewards. As you upgrade, materials like Planks, Knotroot, Marble, Flexwood, Obsidian, and Amber become necessary. Each level unlocks new features such as villagers who can forage, cook, farm, refine textiles, smelt metal, and gift unique recipes. Higher levels also add more villager slots, enhance villagers’ health and defense, and unlock new Log Cabin furniture and the Grand Palace at level 10. To upgrade, interact with the Village Square and ensure you meet both material and Village Rating requirements, which increase by building and decorating your village.

How can I unlock the full potential of my Lego Fortnite Odyssey village

To unlock the full potential of your LEGO Fortnite Odyssey village, start by building the Village Square, which serves as your upgrade hub and home base. From there, focus on gathering resources like Wood, Planks, and Marble Slabs, and increase your Village Rating by constructing and decorating buildings, crafting stations, and farming. Each village level upgrade requires meeting specific material and comfort requirements, unlocking new perks, villager slots, recipes, and jobs that enhance resource gathering, crafting, and defense capabilities. Progressing through levels allows you to invite more villagers, assign them specialized roles such as cooking or farming, and gain access to rarer explorers and advanced crafting options. Continuously upgrading your village and expanding its infrastructure will maximize its benefits, making survival and thriving in the LEGO Fortnite world much easier.

How do I maximize my village’s level and unlock all perks quickly

To maximize your LEGO Fortnite Odyssey village’s level and unlock all perks quickly, follow these key strategies:

  • Build Within the Village Radius: Focus on constructing buildings, decorations, and structures inside the village boundary (marked by a yellow line). Each addition increases your Village Rating, which is essential for leveling up.

  • Use Pre-Made Structures: Select and place pre-made building sets from the build menu. These often provide a higher village rating boost efficiently compared to random builds.

  • Exploit Lumber Mills for Quick Rating Boosts: Placing multiple Lumber Mills is a cheap and effective way to rapidly increase your Village Rating. Each Lumber Mill adds 25-35% rating and costs minimal resources (wood and granite). You can place many of these-even hidden away-to quickly reach max village level without heavy resource expenditure.

  • Keep Builders Busy: Always have your builders working on upgrades or constructions to avoid downtime and speed progress, similar to efficient builder management in other village-building games.

  • Gather Resources Efficiently: Regularly collect wood, granite, and other materials needed for building and upgrading. Efficient farming supports continuous construction and rating increases.

  • Plan Upgrades Around Requirements: Each village level unlocks new perks, villagers, and jobs, but requires meeting specific material and comfort thresholds. Prioritize meeting these to unlock perks faster.

By combining strategic building placement, resource management, and exploiting cheap rating boosts like Lumber Mills, you can quickly max your village level and unlock all perks in LEGO Fortnite Odyssey.
