Makurukis Shrine walkthrough and location guide for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Guides

Hidden in the wild expanse of Hyrule Ridge, the Makurukis Shrine challenges players with tricky puzzles and clever use of wind mechanics. This guide shows how to reach its secluded spot and solve each step of its test for a smooth path to another Light of Blessing.

Makurukis Shrine location

Makurukis Shrine sits on Hyrule Ridge at coordinates ( -1924, 0842, 0137 ), north of Hyrule Field and west of Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. Players reach it by heading northwest from Mido Swamp or paragliding from the tower after launching skyward. The shrine appears as a standard stone pedestal glowing blue on a grassy plateau amid rocky outcrops. Fast travel marks it on the map once spotted. Nearby enemies pose minor threats before entry.

Makurukis Shrine is in the Hyrule Ridge region to the southwest of the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. The exact coordinates are (-2848, 0629, 0233).

Makurukis Shrine walkthrough

This shrine centers on using wind currents to glide across wide gaps and reach elevated platforms. Begin by using the paraglider to ride the gusts upward and land on the ledges with fans and switches. Activate each fan to create stronger airflows and reposition platforms as needed. The final section requires combining fans with gliders to reach the altar safely, rewarding precise timing and careful placement.

Makurukis Shrine is all about teaching you – like the “Combat Training: Archery” challenge suggests – to fight with your bow.

1. As you enter the Makurukis Shrine, there is a Construct bow and two bundles of arrows on your left.

2. A Construct will be waiting for you. Your first task is just to shoot it in the head (the middle part with the stack of three eye-like lights).

3. For the second phase, two more Constructs will pop up to join the first. All three of them will chase you.

4. You’re faster than them, though, so just run away to get some distance, and then turn to fire at them. Shoot all three of them in the head to complete your combat training.

How to get the Strong Construct Bow chest in Makurukis Shrine

You don’t need to do anything special to get the Strong Construct Bow chest in Makurukis Shrine; it’s the standard reward for clearing the combat trial.

Step-by-step

  1. Enter the shrine and grab the bow and arrows on the left if you need them.

  2. Shoot the first training Construct in the head (the glowing face area) with an arrow; only headshots do damage here.

  3. When three Constructs appear, keep your distance and land a headshot on each one; you can use midair bow slow-mo or stand under a side platform and Ascend, then jump and aim for easier shots.

  4. After all three are defeated, a gate at the back opens; go through into the final room.

  5. Open the single treasure chest by the exit altar to receive the Strong Construct Bow (11 attack), then interact with the terminal for the Light of Blessing.

What are Strong Construct Bow stats and upgrades

Strong Construct Bow is a mid-tier, fireproof bow with solid power that can roll higher attack via bonus modifiers.

Base stats

  • Weapon type: Bow.

  • Base attack power: 11.

  • Durability: 26.

  • Range: 20 (standard, not long-range).

  • Special property: Fireproof; safe to use in very hot areas like Death Mountain without burning.

  • Description: “A sturdy bow for a Captain Construct. Besides being fireproof, it’s been strengthened to allow for more powerful shots.”

Upgrade and bonus rolls

The bow itself cannot be upgraded at Great Fairies; instead, it gets stronger via random modifiers and fusing.

  • Random attack bonuses: Strong Construct Bows can drop or appear in chests with Attack Up modifiers. Common tiers reported are:

    • Attack Up I: raises attack into roughly the 14-16 range.

    • Attack Up II: raises attack into roughly the 17-21 range.

  • These bonuses are shown as “Attack Up +X” on the bow and stack additively with the base 11 before you add any fuse material damage.

Fusing and practical use

  • Fusing: Any bow fuse material (horns, gemstones, elemental items) adds its damage/effect on top of the bow’s attack, so Strong Construct Bow + high-power horn can easily exceed 40+ effective power per shot.

  • Elemental safety: Because the bow is fireproof, you can comfortably use fire-based fusions or operate in lava/volcanic zones without the bow catching fire or being destroyed.

  • Role: It’s a reliable, durable workhorse bow once you’re past early game, often replacing the basic Construct Bow as world level increases.
