The Pokémon GO ‘Along the Routes’ event is here, bringing a fresh wave of adventure with new Timed Research quests, exclusive encounters-including a chance at shiny Hisuian Sneasel-and exciting bonuses that celebrate the innovative Routes feature. Whether you’re exploring new paths or exchanging gifts with friends, this event promises rewards and surprises at every turn.

There’s also a new set of Special Research, “A Route to New Friendships,” so you can meet Mateo, who you can find at the end of your routes.

Hisuian Sneasel is also now available shiny for the first time as part of this event.

In addition to those perks, there’s the usual stuff, like a Timed Research set, boosted spawns, and 7 km egg hatches, which we’ve detailed below.


Pokémon Go ’Along the Routes’ event Timed Research and rewards

The Pokémon Go “Along the Routes” event features a special Timed Research quest focused on exploration and sending Gifts to friends. Players complete tasks such as exploring specific distances, sending Gifts, and encountering event-themed Pokémon like Wooloo, Pawmi, Feebas, and Hisuian Sneasel. Completing the research rewards trainers with items including Pinap Berries, Incense, XP, Stardust, and encounters with Hisuian Sneasel. Additionally, event-exclusive field research tasks can be earned by spinning PokéStops, offering further rewards like Great Balls, Eevee encounters, and more Hisuian Sneasel encounters. The event runs for a limited time, requiring players to complete the Timed Research before it ends to claim all rewards.

This single-step Timed Research needs to be completed during the event period to get the rewards.

Pokémon Go ’Along the Routes’ event Field Research and rewards

The Pokémon Go “Along the Routes” event features exclusive Field Research tasks that trainers can obtain by spinning PokéStops during the event period from December 5 to December 8, 2023. These tasks include activities such as sending gifts with stickers, trading Pokémon, hatching eggs, and earning candies while walking with a buddy. Completing these tasks rewards players with encounters with special Pokémon like Wooloo, Eevee, and notably, the first-time available Shiny Hisuian Sneasel. Additionally, rewards include various Poké Balls and Great Balls, enhancing the gameplay experience during the event. These Field Research tasks can be saved and completed even after the event ends, allowing flexibility for players.

Spinning PokéStops during the event period may yield one of these Field Research Tasks:

  • Earn a candy walking with your buddy (5 Great Balls)
  • Hatch an egg (Wooloo encounter)
  • Send a gift to a friend (5 Poké Balls)
  • Send 3 gifts and add a sticker to each (Eevee encounter)
  • Trade a Pokémon (Hisuian Sneasel encounter)

During the Pokémon Go “Along the Routes” event, several Pokémon had boosted spawns, appearing more frequently in the wild to encourage exploration along Routes. Notable Pokémon with increased appearances included Slugma, Hitmontop, Spoink, Feebas, Lillipup, Woobat, Emolga, Wooloo, and Pawmi. This event also introduced shiny variants for some Pokémon like Hisuian Sneasel and Sneasler, adding excitement for collectors. The event features six event-themed Pokémon in these Eggs: Hisuian Growlithe, Togepi, Sneasel, Hisuian Sneasel, Bonsly, and Espurr. Notably, for the first time in Pokémon GO, Trainers have a chance to hatch a Shiny Hisuian Sneasel from these Eggs, adding an exciting new collectible to the game. Collecting and hatching these Eggs during the event is a great way to obtain these unique Pokémon.
