Taki-ihaban Shrine Location and Walkthrough Guide for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Guides

Hidden deep within the Gerudo Highlands, the Taki-ihaban Shrine challenges players with shifting platforms and clever timing puzzles that test both precision and patience. This guide explains how to reach its remote location and clear every step of its unique trial.

When you’re done, our shrine locations page or interactive Hyrule map can direct you toward something else to do.

Lindor’s Brow Cave and Taki-ihaban Shrine location

Lindor’s Brow Cave is situated in the Hyrule Ridge region, near the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. The Taki-ihaban Shrine can be found inside this cave, accessible through a narrow entrance along the rocky hillside west of the tower. Players can glide down from the tower for a quick approach or head north from Hyrule Field to reach the area on foot. Inside the cave, follow the tunnels while fending off enemies and clearing rock barriers to reach the shrine chamber.

Just a little east-southeast of the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower in the Hyrule Ridge region, you’ll find Hestu for the first time. He’ll ask you to kill a couple evermeans for him (the angry trees) as part of the “Hestu’s Concerns” side adventure.

From Hestu, look to the west toward Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower and head up the hill. You’ll find the entrance to Lindor’s Brow Cave near the top at (-1734, 1167, 0230).

When you drop down the entrance shaft to Lindor’s Brow Cave, you’ll fall into a small pool of water. There are some brightcaps along the walls as you fall, a bomb flower along the waterline at the bottom, and you might find a glowing cave fish in the water.

The cave opens up to the west into a larger room. There are a lot more bright caps and brightbloom seeds, along with a couple ore deposits. The problem is that there’s also some Gloom Hands that will attack you. Using AOE elemental damage such as bomb flowers and fire and lightning Chuchu jellies work well against them, or you can just run away.

If you decide to beat the Gloom Hands, however, a Phantom Ganon will take their place. Phantom Ganon will deal a lot of damage if you don’t have upgraded armor, so now is the time to run if you don’t believe in your abilities! Otherwise, hold up your shield to block his attacks and go in for the kill.

Once the battle is all over or you decided to flee, head for the ledge on the west side of the cave to find Taki-ihaban Shrine at (-1828, 1196, 0147).

Taki-ihaban Shrine walkthrough

Taki-ihaban Shrine challenges players to use precise timing and physics-based mechanics to reach the altar. Inside, you’ll find a series of shifting platforms and rotating gears that test your control over movement and positioning. Use Recall to reverse the motion of platforms and Ascend to reach higher levels, adjusting your strategy as the machinery cycles. Collect any hidden chests along the way before activating the final terminal to complete the shrine.

Taki-ihaban Shrine is a “Rauru’s Blessing” shrine, so all you have to do is walk in and grab your prizes.

How to defeat Gloom Hands and Phantom Ganon in Lindor’s Brow Cave

Gloom Hands and Phantom Ganon guard the path to Taki-ihaban Shrine in Lindor’s Brow Cave, but you can defeat or bypass them.

Defeating Gloom Hands

Climb to the elevated ledge near the shrine where the hands can’t reach you, then fire Bomb Flower-infused arrows to hit all five hands simultaneously for quick kills.
Stock Bomb Flowers beforehand from the cave entrance, and use bows for safe distance attacks to avoid their grabbing melee and gloom damage.
Killing them spawns Phantom Ganon, so some players sprint or glide past to the shrine instead.

Defeating Phantom Ganon

This sword variant teleports aggressively with slashes, charges, and spins-dodge or backflip for Flurry Rush openings to deal massive damage while negating his gloom pools.
Use elemental weapons or spears for reach, headshot with strong bows (like Lynel or Gerudo) during Bullet Time, or fuse bombs/topaz for AOE; eat Sundelions to counter heart loss.
He drops a Gloom Sword (41 damage, fuse to avoid self-gloom), Demon King’s Bow, and Dark Clumps-worth farming with buffs like Attack Up food.

What rewards do Gloom Hands and Phantom Ganon drop

Gloom Hands drop Dark Clumps (1-2 each), used for gloom-resistant cooking or fusing.

Phantom Ganon Drops

In Lindor’s Brow Cave, this sword-wielding Phantom Ganon drops a Gloom Sword (41 base power, drains hearts on use), Demon King’s Bow (power scales with max hearts), and 2-3 Dark Clumps.
These items respawn after Blood Moons, making the spot farmable for upgrades like Champion’s Leathers.
Gloom weapons excel when fused (avoiding drain) and pair well with Sundelion meals for sustained fights.
