Step into a legendary crossover as Final Fantasy XIV’s Dawntrail expansion unlocks the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raids, sending players to the iconic city of Jeuno from Final Fantasy XI. Ready your gear and rally your allies-this 24-player raid series blends nostalgia with fresh challenges, but first, you must complete the Dawntrail main scenario and embark on the quest “An Otherworldly Encounter” in Tuliyollal to begin your journey into the echoes of Vana’diel.
Our FFXIV Jeuno alliance raid guide explains where to unlock the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raids, what the prerequisites are, and the rewards you can get from the raid.
Where to unlock Echoes of Vana’diel and Jeuno: The First Walk
To unlock the Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raids and begin “Jeuno: The First Walk” in Final Fantasy XIV, players must first complete the Dawntrail main scenario quest and have a Disciple of War or Magic at level 100 with an item level of at least 695. The questline starts by speaking to the Hoobigo Messenger located near the Aetheryte in Tuliyollal (coordinates X:13.0, Y:11.5). This initiates the quest “An Otherworldly Encounter,” which leads players to Mamook in Yak’tel to meet key NPCs and watch cutscenes that unlock the Jeuno raid. Once unlocked, “Jeuno: The First Walk” becomes available in the Duty Finder as a 24-player alliance raid, offering unique rewards and continuing the crossover story with Final Fantasy XI.
Before you unlock the alliance raid, you’ll need to have at least completed the main scenario quest “Dawntrail” (the last bit of the 7.0 MSQ), have a combat job at level 100, and have an item level of at least 695. This is pretty standard, and you should be here already just from completing the Dawntrail expansion.
To kick off the Echoes of Vana’diel quest line, you’ll need to talk to the NPC “Hoobigo Messenger” in Tuliyollal to start the quest “An Otherworldly Encounter.”

After following a few NPCs and watching a cutscene or two, you’ll unlock “Jeuno: The First Walk” during the same quest as above.
Note that there are a few quests as part of the storyline to complete after the raid – which you should do, as they will likely be prerequisites for the second raid that will launch later.
Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raid loot and rewards
The Echoes of Vana’diel alliance raids in FFXIV offer a rich blend of nostalgia and new challenges, featuring iconic bosses like Prishe, Fafnir, the Ark Angels, and the Shadow Lord in a 24-player setting. Players can earn unique rewards such as the visually distinctive Ark Angel armor sets, orchestrion rolls, and rare minions like the Nano Lord, alongside valuable currency like Ordelle Coins and Cracked Novaclusters for gear upgrades. Loot is subject to a weekly restriction, allowing one piece of gear per week from the raid, while other items like tattered sheet music can be traded without limitation. These rewards provide both cosmetic and functional enhancements, making the raids a rewarding experience for those who meet the level and item level requirements and complete the necessary questline to unlock the content.
Note that until patch 7.2 (or around there, based on previous expansions), Jeuno: The First Walk will have drop restrictions, only allowing you to pick up one piece of gear per week, coinciding with weekly reset. If you roll need or green on any gear from a chest and you win it, you will not be able to get another piece of gear until after reset, so roll carefully!
The armor sets, called the Ark Angel armor, look like this (and we labeled each set so you can tell what you’re looking at):

You can also get tattered sheet music from chests, which you can trade to a specific goblin NPC in Lower Jeuno for Echoes of Vana’diel orchestrion rolls, a Nano Lord minion, and a Nano Lord Triple Triad card, if you’re lucky with your rolls. These drops don’t have any restrictions.
Once per week, you’ll also get an Ordelle Coin from completing Aglaia. You can trade these in for Surgelight Twine and Surgelight Glaze to augment your Quetzalli tomestone gear. Trade in the coins to Uah’shepya in Solution Nine:
