Hidden deep within the deserts of Sumeru, the Nirodha segment of As the Khvarena’s Light Shows challenges players with intricate mechanisms, glowing relics, and shifting barriers that test both precision and patience. Each step reveals clues to ancient secrets-and one wrong move can reset everything.
During the “As the Khvarena’s Light Shows” world quest in Genshin Impact, you need to find three Great Songs of Khvarena in order to progress in the quest, but the Nirodha subquest can be a little challenging. You’ll enter another giant golem where you need to use Farrwicks – small green Khvarena – to solve a puzzle. How to get the Farrwicks in “As the Khvarena’s Light Shows: Nirodha”
Climb ladders on the left side of the circuit room to reach the first Farrwick atop the ledge. Follow the Seelie on the right through the tunnel to collect the second Farrwick at its end. Place each between pairs of gray crystal-covered mixers to thaw them, then rotate the mixers to direct energy flow toward the control device and open the door.
The indicator for the first Farrwick points you upstairs, but don’t take the elevator up to the top level. This will only lead you to a locked gate that you can’t open. Instead, take the ladders up to the top floor to enter the locked room and pick up the Farrwick inside.
In the puzzle room, there is an opening in the wall in the back left corner. Head into the opening and turn left at the corner to find the Farrwick. Collect it and return to the puzzle room.
“As the Khvarena’s Light Shows: Nirodha” Puzzle Solution
The “As the Khvarena’s Light Shows: Nirodha” puzzle requires activating several Farrwick devices to clear gray crystals blocking the flow of energy. Players need to align the mechanisms correctly and use the Farrwicks to dispel the corrupted areas. Once all devices are charged and the energy channels are restored, a chest appears as a reward, marking the puzzle’s completion.
- Place the one of the Farrwicks by the frozen mixer that is receiving energy to unfreeze it. If you’re having trouble finding the right location, follow the image above by placing the Farrwick in the locations indicated by the green orbs.
- Place the second Farrwick in between the two frozen mixers to unfreeze both of them at the same time.
- Rotate the mixers to redirect the energy to the control device to open the locked door. If you’re having trouble, follow the image above by rotating the mixers to point in the direction indicated by the arrows.
How to unlock Khvarena of Good and Evil quest chain
Khvarena of Good and Evil is a world quest chain in Genshin Impact’s Girdle of the Sands area, introduced in version 3.6. It unlocks automatically when you approach and activate the first Teleport Waypoint in Gavireh Lajavard, north of the Desert of Hadramaveth-this triggers a conversation with Paimon.
Prerequisites
Complete the main Archon Quest Chapter III: Act VI “Caribert” to access the region. You must also equip and use the Sorush gadget (obtained earlier in Sumeru quests) to progress through gray crystals and fly. No specific Adventure Rank is listed beyond standard Sumeru access, around AR 35+.
Quest Chain Structure
The series includes five subquests that unlock sequentially:

How to complete Asipattravana Itihasa quest
Asipattravana Itihasa is the second subquest in Genshin Impact’s Khvarena of Good and Evil chain, focused on cleansing purple mists in Asipattravana Swamp using Sorush. It unlocks right after completing The Splendorous Sky That Day and runs parallel to Awakening’s Real Sound.
Prerequisites
Equip the Sorush gadget in your inventory’s quick slot beforehand, as it’s essential for activating thorny branches and dropping Nirodha Fruits. Head to the Asipattravana Swamp waypoint northeast of Vourukasha Oasis after speaking with Zurvan.
Cleansing Purple Mists
Follow the floating Khvarena (green orb) to the first thorny branch-fly to it with Sorush and use the altered Elemental Skill to awaken Khvarena’s power, dispersing nearby mist. Collect a Nirodha Fruit from a branch (interact with Skill button), hover over purple blobs on the ground (align red AoE circle), and drop it with Burst to fully cleanse. Repeat for the second mist site, then trail the Khvarena through the now-open Gray Gate into a cave.
Rescuing and Escorting Mihir
Deeper in the cave, find Mihir trapped in purple mist-cleanse it the same way, but defeat spawned enemies (Hilichurls, possibly Abyss Mage) afterward. Talk to Mihir, then escort her upward: fight more Hilichurls and a Hilichurl Rogue en route, and pick up a glowing green Khvarena item on the left path to dispel the final Gray Gate.
Quest Completion
Return to Vourukasha Oasis with Mihir (select “Let’s go together” in dialogue for teleport). Speak to her about the cleansing pilgrimage to finish, earning the Wonders of the World achievement “Like a Morning Sun Coming out of Gloomy Mountains,” plus rewards like Primogems and a Luxurious Chest.
