Below, we explain where to find Death Stranding 2’s Artist and what you get from completing her requests.
Where to find the Artist in Death Stranding 2
The Artist in Death Stranding 2 can be found in a hidden mountain shelter in Mexico, just northwest of the C1 South Distribution Center. To locate her, players need to first find and return lost cargo addressed to The Artist, which will then reveal her outpost on the map. The path to The Artist’s shelter is steep but straightforward, starting near the C1 South Distribution Center and leading up the mountains. Using a vehicle is recommended due to the uphill climb. Connecting the Artist to the Chiral Network unlocks new color customization options and helps expand network coverage across Mexico.
Death Stranding 2’s Artist is located in Mexico, northwest of the C1 South Distribution Center in a bunker nestled in the mountains.
While you can approach the bunker and meet the Artist whenever, it’s much easier to wait until you’ve cleared your first boss fight and obtained a vehicle. The road to the Artist’s home is steep, and even with the minimum amount of cargo, walking up the mountain is slow going.
Once you leave the lab after the boss fight and start heading toward the Distribution Center, you’ll get a notification asking you to look for the Artist’s lost cargo. The job comes with no indication of where the package is, and it’s possible the location is different for each player. We found it here, at the base of the mountain road:
Press the L1 button to scan for any nearby cargo. The small white description text is difficult to read during the day, so you might have to get close to see if it’s the Artist’s lost property. Grab it, follow the road up, and take the right fork when the path splits. It’ll lead you to the Artist’s bunker, where you can deliver the vase and establish a new connection. Completing this initial task is also the only way to add this slice of Mexico to the chiral network.
Death Stranding 2 Artist rewards
Connecting with the Artist in Death Stranding 2 provides unique cosmetic rewards for Sam, primarily new color schemes for your outfits and equipment. As you deliver lost cargo and raise your connection level with the Artist, you’ll unlock various customization options, such as distinctive suit and headgear color data, allowing you to personalize Sam’s appearance beyond the standard palette. While these rewards are mainly cosmetic and do not offer combat or traversal advantages, they also contribute to expanding Chiral Network coverage in Mexico-useful for players aiming for completion or additional shelter options in the region.
Strengthening Sam’s connection to the Artist will unlock new color schemes you can use to change your suit color. Each relationship rank comes with two new colors, starting with yellow and coyote brown, though new requests won’t unlock right away.
What hidden clues reveal the Artist’s true location in Death Stranding 2
The hidden clues that reveal the Artist’s true location in Death Stranding 2 involve finding lost cargo addressed to her and carefully exploring the mountainous area northwest of the C1 South Distribution Center in Mexico. Initially, the Artist’s outpost is not marked on the map. Players will uncover her location by scanning frequently with the L1 scanner to detect unmarked freight scattered in the region, particularly cargo linked to the Artist. Returning any found cargo to this area activates the Artist’s location on the map. The path leading to her is a steep, narrow mountain trail starting opposite the C1 South Distribution Center, leading up to a hidden shack nestled in the mountains. The journey is made easier after acquiring a vehicle, but exploration on foot is also possible, especially when carrying minimal cargo. Key to discovery is the presence of two adjacent “outage” (dark) zones on the map, with the Artist’s lair located in the nearest mountainous zone above the C1 South Distribution Center. Successfully locating and delivering cargo to the Artist connects her to the Chiral Network and unlocks cosmetic rewards.
