Slippery cliffs and rain-soaked ruins are no match for Link with the Froggy Armor set. Here’s how to track down every piece of this sticky suit and master slip resistance across Hyrule’s wettest terrain.
Wearing it gives you a slip resistance, much like drinking a sticky elixir does. Getting all three pieces does require a lot of reporting and (frog)legwork.
Our Tears of the Kingdom Froggy Armor set guide will tell you when you earn each piece of Froggy Armor, the benefits of wearing it, and how to upgrade the Froggy Hood, Froggy Sleeve, and Froggy Leggings.
Start at the Lucky Clover Gazette
Head to the Lucky Clover Gazette in the Hebra region to begin the Froggy Armor questline. Speak with Penn and Traysi inside the stable to register as a reporter, which opens the series of investigations tied to various stables across Hyrule. Completing their assignments will earn you pieces of the Froggy Armor set, each offering slip resistance to help you climb in wet conditions.

As you’re wandering Tears of the Kingdom‘s Hyrule and visiting stables, you’ll start to see people reading newspapers and talking about the Lucky Clover Gazette taking over (what used to be) Rito Stable.
When you get there, you’ll be able to pick up a new side hustle that leads to 12 side quests and adventures. Start by talking to Traysi (and Penn) to pick up the “Potential Princess Sightings!” side adventure that will have you visiting (almost) all of the stables in Hyrule.
Completing steps in the “Potential Princess Sightings!” side adventure earns you rupees, a new fabric for your paraglider, and two pieces of the Froggy set. Completing all 12 gets you the final piece.
Froggy Sleeve
The Froggy Sleeve is one of the three parts of the Froggy Armor set, offering Link better grip and slip resistance during rainy weather. It’s obtained by completing a specific questline from the Lucky Clover Gazette, where you assist Traysi and Penn with their investigations across Hyrule. Once you complete the related side adventure, the sleeve becomes available as a reward. Equipping it with the other set pieces not only improves traction on wet surfaces but also grants the full set bonus for better climbing performance in rain.
You’ll receive the Froggy Sleeve once you’ve completed fourLucky Clover Gazette side adventures.
Froggy Leggings
Froggy Leggings are the final piece of the Froggy Armor set and provide strong slip resistance for climbing wet surfaces. You can obtain them by completing the last segment of the “Potential Princess Sightings!” side adventure from the Lucky Clover Gazette. After finishing all regional story investigations, visit Traysi to receive the leggings as a reward. With all three Froggy Armor pieces equipped, you can climb in rain without losing grip, making exploration in wet weather much easier.
You’ll receive the Froggy Leggings once you’ve completed nineLucky Clover Gazette side adventures.
Froggy Helm
The Froggy Helm is the first piece of the Froggy Armor set and offers strong slip resistance, making it easier to climb wet surfaces during rain. You can obtain it by completing the “Potential Princess Sightings!” side adventure in the Lucky Clover Gazette questline. After assisting Penn with several regional newspaper stories, Traysi will reward you with the helm as part of the outfit set. This piece pairs perfectly with the Froggy Sleeve and Froggy Leggings to maximize the anti-slip effect.
After you’ve completed all 12 “Potential Princess Sightings!” side adventures, head back to the Lucky Clover Gazette and speak with Traysi. She’ll reward you with the Froggy Hood.
Froggy Armor set effect, upgrade costs, and set bonus
Each piece of the Froggy Armor provides slip resistance on wet surfaces, and wearing more pieces increases the effect until you can climb far more safely in the rain. Once all three pieces are upgraded to at least two stars at a Great Fairy, the full set grants a Slip Proof bonus that completely prevents slipping, even on ice walls. Upgrading any piece from base level to four stars follows the same path: 3 Sticky Lizards and 10 rupees for one star, 5 Horriblin Horns and 5 more Sticky Lizards for two stars, 5 Blue Horriblin Horns and 5 Sticky Frogs for three stars, then 5 Black Horriblin Horns, 10 Horriblin Guts, 10 Opals, and a rupee fee for four stars. Fully enhancing the whole set across all levels costs a total of 24 Sticky Lizards, 15 standard Horriblin Horns, 15 Blue Horriblin Horns, 15 Sticky Frogs, 30 Opals, 30 Horriblin Guts, and 2,280 rupees.โ
Wearing any one piece of the Froggy Armor set will get you the slip resistance effect – the same effect you’d get from drinking a sticky elixir. Wearing multiple pieces of the set will increase the effect’s potency. Slip resistance basically increases the distance you can climb in the rain before you slip back down.
Once you enhance the entire set to level two and wear all three pieces, you’ll get the slip proof set bonus, meaning you don’t have to worry about slipping while climbing in the rain at all any more.
You’ll be able to upgrade the Froggy Armor set at a Great Fairy using the following:
- 1-star (5 defense): 3 sticky lizards, 10 rupees
- 2-star (8 defense): 5 Horriblin horns, 5 sticky lizards, 50 rupees
- 3-star (12 defense): 5 Blue Horriblin horns, 5 sticky frogs, 200 rupees
- 4-star (20 defense): 5 Black Horriblin horns, 10 Horriblin guts, 10 opals, 500 rupees
To fully upgrade all three pieces of armor, you’ll need 24 sticky lizards, 15 sticky frogs, 15 Horriblin horns, 15 Blue Horriblin horns, 15 Black Horriblin horns, 30 Horriblin guts, 30 opals, and 2,280 rupees.

How to complete White Goats Gone Missing at Tabantha Bridge Stable
To complete the “White Goats Gone Missing” Side Adventure at Tabantha Bridge Stable in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, first speak to Penn in the goat pen southeast of the stable (coordinates around -2909, 0523, 0169). He directs you to Chork, who explains his white goats fled after eating incorrectly prepared food supposedly based on a Zelda recipe using whole Hylian Pine Cones.โ
Step-by-Step Guide
-
Head southeast from the empty goat pen and follow the trail of dropped Hylian Pine Cones through the trees and into the Seres Scablands; use Ultrahand to highlight them if needed.โ
-
The trail leads to the goats clustered around a large tree at coordinates approximately -2552, 0411, 0150 (or -2546, 0409, 0150).โ
-
Interact with the glowing bottle in the center to reveal Zelda’s recipe note, triggering Chork and Penn to arrive and resolve the incident.โ
Reward
Penn rewards you with 50 Rupees upon completion, advancing the “Potential Princess Sightings!” quest toward the Froggy Armor set. Collect the pine cones along the way for cooking or selling.โ
