Stables are still an accommodating stopgap between landmarks like Kakariko Village, visiting each one rewards Pony Points, a new currency that can be redeemed for saddles, additional stalls, and a mane restyling service (because glow ups).
How many stables are there in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
There are 18 stables in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, counting both full-service stables and the smaller mini stables scattered around Hyrule. Most guides group them as 15 main stables plus a handful of mini stables that still award Pony Points and often appear in stable-related quests.โ

Some stables are more hidden than others, and there are two mini-stables that provide services on the go – one in Gerudo Canyon next to the Digdogg Suspension Bridge, and one that appears in Lookout Landing shortly after completing “The Incomplete Stable” quest later on in the game.

Dueling Peaks Stable location
Dueling Peaks Stable sits along the road between Kakariko Village and Hateno Village, just east of the Dueling Peaks in West Necluda. It’s a great stopover for travelers crossing the region, offering a place to rest, board horses, and earn Pony Points. Nearby, you’ll find several shops, quests, and NPCs that make it a lively hub for adventurers exploring the eastern part of Hyrule.
The famous Dueling Peaks Stable in West Necluda can be found just south of Kakariko Village and directly across from the Little Twin Bridge and neighboring Ash Swamp and Bubinga Forest.

East Akkala Stable location
East Akkala Stable sits in the northeastern corner of Hyrule, just south of East Akkala Plains and near the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. It serves as a convenient stop for travelers exploring the rugged terrain and the nearby Deep Akkala region. Players can register or retrieve their horses here, rest, and earn Pony Points toward rewards. The stable’s location also makes it a safe point before venturing toward the more dangerous northern zones filled with powerful enemies.
Hidden in Deep Akkala, the East Akkala Stable can be found north of Octorok Lake and south of Robbie’s Ancient Tech Lab. Just keep an eye out for the Evermean who will bait you with apples.

Foothill Stable location
Foothill Stable sits at the base of Death Mountain, just southeast of the volcano in the Eldin region. It’s a convenient stop for travelers heading toward Goron City or exploring the nearby hot springs and volcanic terrain. The area offers plenty of wildlife and mineral deposits, and horses stabled here are well-suited for steep or rocky paths. Inside, players can rest, register their horses, and earn Pony Points at the counter while enjoying the stable’s cozy atmosphere.
Just east of the Woodland Stable is the Foothill Stable, a useful resting place for anyone who is making their way to or from Death Mountain. It’s north of Zora’s Domain and next to Cephla Lake.

Gerudo Canyon Stable location
Gerudo Canyon Stable sits along the road leading into the scorching Gerudo region, southwest of Hyrule Field. It serves as a convenient stop for travelers heading toward Gerudo Town or exploring the desert. The stable provides all standard services, including horse registration, sleeping quarters, and a cooking area. A merchant and several travelers can often be found nearby, making it a handy resting point before tackling the harsh weather ahead.
The Gerudo Canyon Stable is tucked away in Gerudo Canyon, and while you can’t take horses with you into the Gerudo Desert, you can help an NPC called Piaffe with his hoarder tendencies. Cleaning up his mess and finishing the “Piaffe, Packed Away” side quest rewards a Pony Point.

Highland Stable location
Highland Stable sits in the Faron region, south of Lake Hylia and east of the Zonai Ruins. Surrounded by humid forests and frequent rain, this stable offers services like horse registration, Pony Points rewards, and a cooking pot for travelers. It’s a useful stop for those heading toward the southern jungles or exploring the road that winds toward Lurelin Village.
The Highland Stable in Faron Grasslands is the closest stall to the Lake of the Horse God and it’s just to the west of Guchini Plain and a Thunder Gleeok keeping watch over Martha’s Landing. You can also find an ancient blade in a well here.

Lakeside Stable location
Lakeside Stable is found in the Faron region, just south of the Lake Hylia Bridge and close to the Hylia River. This peaceful stop offers travelers a good place to rest, register horses, and earn Pony Points. Nearby, players can find lush forests, tropical weather, and wildlife typical of Faron. The stable’s location makes it convenient for exploring the southern parts of Hyrule or reaching adventure spots around Lake Hylia.
Just east of the Highland Stable is the Lakeside Stable – a pit stop on the edge of the rainforest that can be used when traveling to Lurelin Village, Tuft Mountain, and the eastern Necluda Sea.

New Serenne Stable location
New Serenne Stable lies in the Hyrule Ridge region, west of Hyrule Field, near the Tabantha Great Bridge. It offers lodging, meals, and access to your registered horses. Players can earn Pony Points here by staying overnight or using stable services. The surrounding hills provide easy routes toward Rito Village and the Hebra Mountains, making this stable a convenient stop for travelers heading northwest.
The New Serenne Stable in Hyrule Ridge is one of the first horse stables you’ll come across in Zelda:Tears Of The Kingdom. Just head northwest from Lookout Landing in Central Hyrule, past the Quarry Ruins and a Hinox who is doing their best Snorlax impression on the Carok Bridge.

Outskirt Stable location
Outskirt Stable lies just southwest of Hyrule Field, near the road leading to the Great Plateau. This stable offers a convenient stop for travelers exploring central Hyrule, providing easy access to wild horses in the surrounding plains. You can also register mounts and earn Pony Points here, making it a practical stop for riders heading south or west.
The Outskirt Stable is located in the southwest corner of Hyrule Field and can be found next to the old Coliseum Ruins and a main road that leads to the Gerudo Desert and Gerudo Highlands.

Riverside Stable location
Riverside Stable is found in Central Hyrule, just south of Whistling Hill and near the road that leads toward the Hylia River. It’s a handy stop for travelers heading to the Faron or Necluda regions. Here, players can rest, register horses, and earn Pony Points by using stable services. A cooking pot and a few NPCs nearby offer useful hints about local quests and nearby shrines.
The Riverside Stable sits on a river bed southeast of Lookout Landing and it can be found just east of Nabi Lake, the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower, and everyone’s favorite, Kakariko Village.

Snowfield Stable location
Snowfield Stable sits in the far north of Hyrule, in the Hebra region, on the road leading toward the snow-covered plains. You can find it just south of the South Tabantha Snowfield, near the crossroads that branch toward Hebra Mountains and Tabantha Frontier. The area is cold and often battered by blizzards, so bring cold-resistant gear or meals before heading there. Registering a horse and resting at Snowfield Stable also contribute to your Pony Points total, just like at any other stable.
The Snowfield Stable is still a snowy retreat that’s right in the middle of the Tabantha Snowfield and it’s one of the few active resting spots in between Rito Village and the Great Hyrule Forest.

South Akkala Stable location
South Akkala Stable sits in the northeast corner of Hyrule, near the South Akkala Plains and close to the Akkala Citadel Ruins. You can reach it easily by following the main road leading north from Tarrey Town or east from Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower. The stable features all basic services, including lodging and horse registration, and it’s a convenient stop for travelers heading toward the Deep Akkala region. Keep an eye out for nearby NPCs offering side adventures and clues linked to the area’s curiosities.
On the edge of Eldin Canyon and the Akkala Highlands, the South Akkala Stable can be used in between quests that involve Tarrey Town, Zora’s Domain, and the Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower.

Tabantha Bridge Stable location
Tabantha Bridge Stable is located near the great Tabantha Bridge, southwest of Hyrule Ridge. It sits along the main road leading toward Rito Village, making it a convenient stop for travelers heading into colder regions. Players can find Beedle here, register and board horses, and rest before tackling the nearby mountainous areas. The area offers easy access to ingredients and materials useful for cold resistance.
True to its name, the Tabantha Bridge Stable is located right next to the Tabantha Bridge – an old wooden path that connects Hyrule Ridge to Rito Village and the rest of the Tabantha Frontier.

Wetland Stable location
Wetland Stable sits near Rebonae Bridge in the Lanayru Wetlands, just east of Lookout Landing. It’s surrounded by shallow waters and grassy plains, making it a calm stopover point for travelers heading toward Lanayru or Hyrule Field. Inside, players can register or retrieve horses and start earning Pony Points for special rewards. The Stable is also close to several shrines and side quests, making it a convenient base for exploration in the area.
The Wetland Stable resides in between Hyrule Field and the Lanayru Wetlands and it’s a short adventure away from Kakariko Village, the Zodobon Highlands, and Zora’s Domain to the east.

Woodland Stable location
Woodland Stable sits south of the Great Hyrule Forest, near Pico Pond and the road leading toward Eldin Canyon. It’s an ideal stop for travelers heading to Korok Forest or exploring the northern regions. The stable provides a resting place, cooking area, and a Pony Points counter for claiming rewards. A few friendly characters gather here, offering hints about nearby shrines and caves hidden among the trees.
Eldin Canyon’s Woodland Stable is northeast of Hyrule Field and south of Great Hyrule Forest and it’s home to Pico Pond, a scenic locale used for taming horses and trading Bubbul Gems.
How to earn Pony Points at stables
You earn Pony Points any time you actively use stable services or complete certain stable-related tasks.
Basic ways to earn Pony Points

Sign up at a stable: The first time you talk to a full-size stable clerk and register in the membership system, you receive a Pony Points Card and 2 Pony Points as a welcome bonus.โ

Visit each stable once: Speaking to the owner at a new, full-size stable for the first time gives 1 Pony Point per stable.โ

Register horses: Every time you bring a new horse and register it, you gain Pony Points (2 points for your very first registered horse, then 1 point per additional horse in most guides).โ
