Where to find Closed Exhibit clues in Blue Prince

The clues for the Closed Exhibit puzzle in Blue Prince can be found in the Safehouse, which is accessible by sailing the boat in the Reservoir once it is raised to level 11. Inside the Safehouse, you’ll discover a map of the Royal Museum along with several handwritten notes visible through a Magnifying Glass. One particular note points to the Security System Controls located on the back side of the Closed Exhibit. To reach the Safehouse, you first need to raise the Reservoir to level 6 to access a submerged tunnel leading there. These clues are essential to disabling the security system and obtaining the Paper Crown inside the Closed Exhibit.

If you’ve explored the Basement and made your way to the Sanctum, you may have found the Red Door. When you supply power to it via the Boiler Room, you can head to a higher level of the rotating gear room. There, you’ll find a window that has your first clue. You need to pump water around via the Pump Room (also powered by the Boiler Room) until the Reservoir is at level 6.

First, though, you’ll have to get the Reservoir to level 11 so you can move the boat to the side with the stairs.

When you get the Reservoir to 6, you’ll have a path through the previously underwater tunnel. That leads you to the Safehouse. Inside, you’ll find a map of the Royal Museum. If you have a Magnifying Glass, there are a few handwritten notes that will tell you what you need to do.

Specifically, there’s a note with an arrow pointing to the Security System Controls on the back side of the Closed Exhibit.

How to get the crown in the Closed Exhibit in Blue Prince

To get the Paper Crown in the Closed Exhibit in Blue Prince, first unlock the Closed Exhibit floorplan by opening the safe in the Study Room. When drafting the Closed Exhibit, place it so that one of its sealed sides connects to a room with a door facing that side. Enter this adjacent room to find a security panel controlling the exhibit’s defenses. The panel has three buttons: Reveal Tripwires, Lower Barrier, and Reset Alarm System. Press Lower Barrier to remove the ropes around the crown, then quickly press Reset Alarm to disable the security for 10 seconds. During this window, dash into the Closed Exhibit and grab the Paper Crown from the pedestal before the alarm reactivates. If you miss the timing, simply repeat the process. Obtaining the Paper Crown allows you to redraw floorplans if your initial options lack a Red Room.

To get at the Security System Controls, you’ll have to place the Closed Exhibit like you did with the Foundation. You need to have a room with an open door pointing at the side of the Closed Exhibit without a door.

When you do that, you’ll find the Security System Controls. Next to a window that lets you see into the Closed Exhibit, you’ll find three buttons:

  • Reveal tripwire – reveals the laser grid in the Closed Exhibit
  • Lower barrier – drops the ropes around the crown
  • Reset alarm system – turns everything off for 10 seconds

You job is to hit the buttons in order (you can skip the tripwire one), and then sprint (hold down the left trigger) around and back into the Closed Exhibit. You only have 10 seconds to do this. If your floorplan cooperates and you’re quick, you can grab the Paper Crown before the security system comes back online.

With the Paper Crown in hand, you will be able to redraw floorplans if there is not a red room in your first draw.
