Guides

Xur has returned with a fresh set of exotic gear and surprises for Guardians seeking an edge this weekend. From hidden corners of the solar system, he brings rare items that could change your loadout-if you know where to find him before he vanishes on May 2.

Here is where to find Xur in Destiny 2, and what he is selling.

Xur location this week, April 28 to May 2

Xur stands at Winding Cove in the EDZ from April 28 to May 2. Launch at the Winding Cove drop zone, head to the back cliffs past the beach, and climb the cave path beside Fallen forces to his platform. He stocks an Exotic engram, The Prospector grenade launcher, Lucky Pants for Hunters, Armamentarium for Titans, and Starfire Protocol for Warlocks, all priced in Legendary Shards.

This week, you can find Xur in the EDZ, hanging out in the Winding Cove on the cliff overlooking the Ketch.

Xur inventory: What is Xur selling this week?

Xur’s inventory this week brings a fresh mix of exotic and legendary gear for Guardians eager to upgrade their loadouts. He’s offering the exotic hand cannon Hawkmoon with a new roll, along with Dead Man’s Tale for those chasing strong precision weapon options. Armor sets for each class are also available, giving players new ways to fine-tune their builds. Don’t forget to check the legendary weapons section-there are a few standout rolls worth adding to your collection before Xur leaves on May 2.

Xur is selling the following this week:

  • The Prospector, Arc grenade launcher: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Lucky Pants, Hunter boots: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Armamentarium, Titan chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Starfire Protocol, Warlock chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards (you can now purchase a second with an Exotic Cipher)
  • Exotic Cipher quest: free

As of Season of the Risen and The Witch Queen, Xur sells a random roll of both Hawkmoon and Dead Man’s Tale each week.

Here’s what he’s selling this weekend:

  • Hawkmoon, Kinetic hand cannon (Opening Shot): 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Legendary Shards, Exotic Cipher, Ascendant Shard
  • Dead Man’s Tale, Kinetic scout rifle (Vorpal Weapon): 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Legendary Shards, Exotic Cipher, Ascendant Shard

As of Season of the Lost, Xur also sells a collection of old armor and weapons – similar to Banshee-44 and Ada-1. Usually, these items are difficult to find and from seasons long past. Each item (whether armor or weapon) costs only 1,000 Glimmer and 50 Legendary Shards.

Xur’s Legendary inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Vulpecula, Stasis hand cannon
  • Enigma’s Draw, Kinetic sidearm
  • Friction Fire, Kinetic submachine gun
  • Under Your Skin, Void bow
  • Judgment of Kelgorath, Solar glaive
  • Blast Battue, Arc grenade launcher
  • Lonesome, Kinetic sidearm
  • Warmind armor set

Xur’s items drop at a power level similar to that of your character.

What is worth buying from Xur this week?

Xur’s selection this week offers a few standout items for collectors and players aiming to strengthen their builds. The Exotic weapon Arbalest returns, providing a strong option for breaking enemy shields in high-level content. Titans can grab Heart of Inmost Light, still one of the best choices for ability-focused setups, while Hunters benefit from Celestial Nighthawk for massive burst damage in boss encounters. Warlocks should check out Crown of Tempests, a solid pick for Arc builds with great synergy around ability regeneration.

Here’s some more specific advice on Xur’s wares this week, April 28 to May 2:

THE PROSPECTOR

The Prospector is a heavy grenade launcher that fires sticky grenades capable of clearing groups of enemies or dealing sustained damage to powerful targets. Its full-auto trigger system allows continuous fire as long as the trigger is held, and grenades can be manually detonated for precise timing. This weapon remains a solid choice for PvE activities, especially against clustered foes or boss encounters where consistent explosive output makes a difference.

The Prospector is a powerful grenade launcher in PvE. Its perk, Excavation, allows you to simultaneously detonate all grenades that you have recently fired, and the launcher is fully automatic. The grenades also stick to surfaces and deal burn damage. While The Prospector used to be one of the top PvE grenade launchers, there are currently better options out there. It’ll likely come back around, though, so if you don’t have it yet, pick it up.

LUCKY PANTS

Xûr wears the Lucky Pants this week, a set of Legendary Hunter leg armor that boosts precision damage and hip-fire accuracy for Scout Rifles. Players seeking high-ground advantage in PvE strikes or raids grab these for their perk synergy with long-range weapons. He offers them at a discount with Legendary Shards and Glimmer, perfect for gearing up alternate characters before the weekly reset.

Lucky Pants are fairly worthless in most situations. Their Exotic perk, Illegally Modded Holster, allows you to ready hand cannons very quickly, and it also increases accuracy for your first shot. Additionally, precision hits partially reload any stowed hand cannons. If you absolutely must use hand cannons in both your energy and kinetic slots, these boots are for you. Otherwise, skip Lucky Pants.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 65 total stats.

ARMAMENTARIUM

The Armamentarium is a Titan Exotic chest piece designed for players who favor heavy grenade use in combat. Its main perk, And Another Thing, grants an additional grenade charge, allowing for faster and more frequent explosive damage output. With solid Recovery and Discipline stats, it suits aggressive playstyles in both PvE and PvP. Pairing it with grenade-focused subclasses like Striker or Sentinel maximizes its potential, giving Titans a powerful way to control the battlefield.

The Armamentarium is a pretty simple chest piece. Its exotic perk is And Another Thing, which causes you to gain another grenade charge regardless of the subclass you’re using. This perk is great – or it would be if Striker Titans didn’t already have two grenades. The other Titan subclasses have far less powerful grenades and better exotics in Hallowfire Heart and Mask of the Quiet One.

However, Armamentarium is still a great chest piece to grab if you don’t like those other exotics or if you want to run the other Striker tree. If you like Titans and grenades, you should at least pick this one up.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 65 total stats.

STARFIRE PROTOCOL

Starfire Protocol remains a top pick for Solar Warlocks, offering strong synergy with Fusion Grenades and empowering Rift-based builds. Its perk grants an additional Fusion Grenade charge and restores grenade energy from empowered weapon damage, making it a favorite for endgame content like raids and Nightfalls. Pairing it with Touch of Flame and proper ability management can produce near-constant grenade uptime and impressive burst damage potential.

Starfire Protocol is a very powerful Exotic now that Solar 3.0 is here. Its perk is Fusion Harness, which grants you an extra charge of Fusion Grenades and causes Fusion Grenade kills to grant you Rift energy. If you build your character correctly, these Fusion Grenades can do incredible damage. If you’re a Solar 3.0 Warlock fan, you need this Exotic chest piece.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 63 total stats.

Exotic Cipher quest

Players eager for the Exotic Cipher can pick it up from Xur by completing his weekly quest, usually involving strikes, Crucible, or Gambit matches. Finishing it rewards a single Exotic Cipher, which can be exchanged at the Tower kiosk for older Exotic weapons and armor. It’s a reliable way to expand your collection, especially for collectors who missed earlier seasonal gear.

Starting in Beyond Light, Xur has a new quest for an Exotic Cipher. The Exotic Cipher lets you buy old Exotics from the Monuments to Lost Light kiosk in the Tower. You’ll need these items and some other currencies to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent and Truth.

Are these exotics worth buying this week

Xur’s current inventory (post-The Final Shape era) typically includes one Exotic weapon, one piece of Exotic armor per class, an Exotic Engram, and some Legendary gear or catalysts, but specifics rotate weekly and aren’t predictable months ahead. Without exact details listed for this week (Feb 1, 2026, or the prior April reference), value depends on your build needs, power level, and meta-top-tier picks like Getaway Artist or strong catalysts (e.g., Tractor Cannon) are often worth grabbing if rolls are good.

Viability Factors

Exotics shine if they fit PvE (e.g., high DPS weapons like Sunshot) or PvP (e.g., Hawkmoon for precision play), per tier lists ranking them S/A-tier for meta relevance. Skip low-stat armor unless god rolls (high desired stats like Recovery) or if you’re missing the piece; prioritize weapons/catalysts for new lights or buildcrafters. Recent examples like Fallen Sunstar excel in ability spam builds, making them “god tier” buys.

Quick Checklist

  • Must-buy: Meta weapons (e.g., Queenbreaker, Sunshot) or catalysts boosting reserves/DPS; Exotic Engram for random rolls.

  • Situational: Class armor if stats suit your subclass (e.g., Arc for ionic traces).

  • Pass: Meme items like Sweet Business or duplicates you already have optimized. Check whereisxur.com or in-game for rolls before spending shards.

Where is Xur located this weekend

Xur is located in the Tower at the Bazaar.
This spot, behind the ramen/noodle shop near Ikora Rey, has been his primary (often permanent) post-The Final Shape location, marked by a map icon for easy access.

Weekend Schedule

Xur arrives Friday at 10 AM PDT (reset time) and stays until Tuesday’s weekly reset, covering full weekends like this one (Jan 30-Feb 3, 2026). Older rotating spots (e.g., EDZ Winding Cove, Nessus Watcher’s Grave) are outdated. Land at Tower Annex for quickest access.
