How to use Upgrade Disks in Blue Prince

Upgrade Disks can be used at the Terminal to upgrade floorplans. The Terminal can be found in rooms such as the Office, and you can plug the Disks in to upgrade one of your rooms. The selection is random, but you’ll have the final say on the upgrades you want, as you’ll be presented with three choices, and you can opt for the one you want. Floorplan upgrades are permanent and will boost the function of a room, and the enhanced version will be available through all future drafts, helping you get more items and resources. The available upgrades will differ based on the room, and you can choose the boost you want to impart.

Once you find an Upgrade Disk, take the disk to a terminal in either the Security, Office, Laboratory, or Shelter to upgrade a room. The terminal will randomly select one of your rooms to upgrade, allowing you to choose from three new upgrade options for that room. This process can be repeated to reroll room upgrades, but the room chosen is random, so it may take several attempts to get the desired upgrade.
