How do I get the Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy?

The Phoenix can be obtained after completing the quest “Phoenix Rising,” which becomes available late in the main storyline. During the mission, you’ll track the creature through the mountains, guided by Deek. Once found, you can capture it using the Nab-Sack and bring it back to your Vivarium, where it becomes a permanent companion. The Phoenix cannot be bred, making it one of the rarest and most unique magical beasts in the game.

In order to capture the Phoenix in Hogwarts Legacy, you must complete Deek’s quest line in the Room of Requirement. During his last quest, “Phoenix Rising,” you’ll receive a Phoenix and bring them back to your Vivariums. This is the only Phoenix you’ll be able to find as there are no Phoenix dens in the Highlands.

How can I summon more beasts in my Vivariums?

To summon more beasts in your vivariums, you’ll need to expand them by progressing through the Room of Requirement quests. Completing Deek’s side missions grants access to additional vivariums, each suited for different environments such as grassland or swamp. Once new habitats are unlocked, you can bring in more species using the Nab-Sack. Keep an eye on your beast capacity – each vivarium has a limit, so managing space and rotating species ensures you can care for a larger variety of magical creatures.

To summon more magical beasts, you’ll need to complete Deek’s quest line in the Room of Requirement. For each side quest you complete, you’ll unlock another Vivarium for your beasts to run around in. Each Vivarium can only have up to four species and 16 beasts in each of them, but that will be more than enough for each species.

Here’s a list of all of Deek’s quests that you have to complete:

  1. “The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom”
  2. “The Plight of the House-elf”
  3. “Foal of the Dead”
  4. “Phoenix Rising”

When do I unlock Brood and Peck in Hogwarts Legacy?

Brood & Peck becomes accessible in Hogsmeade after completing the main quest “The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and the Loom.” This mission introduces the Nab-Sack for capturing beasts and opens the shop, located north of the central area on the map. Players typically reach it around level 15 during story progression. Inside, sell captured beasts for Galleons or buy upgrade ingredients for the Enchanted Loom.โ€‹

You’ll unlock the After completing the main story quest “The Elf, the Nab-sack, and the Loom.” You can also sell your extra magical beasts here for some easy gold galleons. How do I breed beasts in Hogwarts Legacy?

Breeding beasts in Hogwarts Legacy takes place inside the Vivarium, once you’ve unlocked the Breeding Pen through Deek’s questline. To begin, you’ll need one male and one female of the same species placed in your Vivarium. Interact with the Breeding Pen and select the species you want to breed. After a set period, a baby beast will appear, which can be cared for, sold, or used to gather magical materials for crafting and upgrades.

First, you’ll need to complete the side quest “Foal of the Dead” which is given to you by Deek in the Room of Requirement. Next, you’ll need a breeding pen which can be bought from Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade for 1,000 gold galleons. Head back to your Vivariums, and place the breeding pen by using the Conjuration spell. Interact with the pen to choose which animals you’d like to breed, and wait 30 minutes for your egg to hatch.

You can also choose which pair you’d like to breed if you have multiples of each gender. After you interact with the breeding pen, hover over the species you’d like to breed and press the button labeled as “Choose breeding pair.” Simply choose which magical beasts you’d like to breed and wait the 30 minutes for your new offspring! However, offsprings do not grow up in Hogwarts Legacy, so they’ll stay young forever.

How to get shiny beasts in Hogwarts Legacy?

Shiny beasts, also known as rare variants, can be found through careful observation during your exploration. They appear randomly in beast dens, distinguished by their unique color and a sparkle effect when encountered. To increase your chances, visit dens repeatedly and use the Nab-Sack to capture and check each beast’s traits at the Vivarium. Breeding shiny beasts is possible by pairing two shiny parents, though the odds remain low, making patience a key factor for collectors who want these special creatures.

Similar to Pokรฉmon, you can find shiny magical beasts in Hogwarts Legacy. When hunting for shinies, look out for the star next to the beasts’ name at the top of the screen. The magical beasts will also differentiate in color, but it can be difficult to tell when many of them already do come in different colors. Follow our step-by-step walkthrough on how to easily get shiny magical beasts below.

  1. Travel to a magical beast den.
  2. Look for any shiny magical beasts, and if there aren’t any, capture all of the beasts that are currently at the den to reset it.
  3. Change the time of day by opening your map and pressing the “F” button on PC or the right analog stick on console.
  4. Create a new save state.
  5. Load the manual save, and check the den again for new animals.
  6. Repeat steps 2 – 5 in hopes for new shiny beasts.

If you have two shiny beasts of the opposite gender, you can also breed a shiny offspring.

If you’re looking for another challenge after taming all of the beasts in Hogwarts Legacy, try collecting all of the brooms, Demiguise statues and Daedalian Keys.

On numerous occasions in recent years, billionaire and Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has taken public stances against inclusive transgender laws and trans rights, and has written fiction that has been condemned by LGBTQ organizations for its use of harmful anti-trans tropes. Hate crimes, as well as legislation that denies the rights of trans people, have become more prevalent in the U.K. since 2019, and, more recently, in the United States as well.

According to an FAQ from Hogwarts Legacy publisher Warner Bros. Interactive – the parent company of Avalanche Software, the game’s developer – Rowling is “not directly involved” with the creation of Hogwarts Legacy. Regardless, the sales and widespread attention generated by a AAA video game will benefit Rowling, and that has led some fans to decide not to buy the game. Best locations to farm each beast den quickly

Farming beast dens in Hogwarts Legacy involves visiting marked locations on the map, capturing all beasts to reset spawns, saving/reloading, and cycling time via the map for quick respawns-ideal with a broom for mobility.

Top Farming Regions

The Forbidden Forest stands out as the best overall spot due to its high density of dens (e.g., 4 Giant Purple Toad, 2 Mooncalf, 1 each of Puffskein/Jobberknoll/Hippogriff/Unicorn), enabling a 20-minute loop yielding 35+ beasts for gold. Fly the route with Revelio active to spot dens efficiently; respawns occur after full clears. Feldcroft Region is another strong pick for Nifflers and Mooncalves, often with shiny guarantees in certain spots south of Feldcroft village.โ€‹

Beast-Specific Quick Farms

Use these prime dens for fastest farming per species-clear all, step out of sight, wait/change time (night for Mooncalves/Thestrals), save/reload to repeat.โ€‹

Beast Best Quick-Farm Location Tips for Speed
Puffskein Forbidden Forest/South Hogwarts Groups respawn fast daytime.
Diricawl Hogwarts Valley/Marunweem Lake Easy vanishes; multiple nearby.โ€‹
Kneazle South Sea Bog/Hogwarts Valley Agile but quick clears.โ€‹
Thestral Marunweem Lake Night-only; post-death visibility.โ€‹

Fwooper Poidsear Coast/Hogwarts Valley Silence song; coast loop.โ€‹
Unicorn Forbidden Forest (quest den) “Unique Unicorn” for access; rare reset.โ€‹
Phoenix Quest-only (no den farm) Single via “Phoenix Rising.”โ€‹
Graphorn Clagmar Coast Fight first; one main den.โ€‹

Fastest route map for Forbidden Forest beast farming

The Forbidden Forest offers the densest concentration of beast spawns in Hogwarts Legacy, making it ideal for quick farming loops of up to 35+ beasts in 20 minutes via broom travel.โ€‹

Optimal Route Overview

Start at the Upper Hogsfield Floo Flame (southwest Forbidden Forest edge) for fast access, then fly clockwise through 9 key dens using Revelio to highlight beasts-clear all in each (2-4 beasts), step out of render range to reset, and save/reload or wait 2 minutes for respawns. This route prioritizes Giant Purple Toads (x4 dens), Mooncalves (x2), and mixed easy/medium beasts like Puffskeins and Hippogriffs; repeat at night for Mooncalves/Thestrals. Total loop: 4-6 minutes per cycle with practice.

Step-by-Step Route

  1. Upper Hogsfield Floo โ†’ Fly north to first Giant Purple Toad den (small cave by river, 2 toads).โ€‹

  2. Northeast to second Toad den (rocky outcrop, 3 toads).โ€‹

  3. East to Mooncalf den (night-only clearing, 3 mooncalves).โ€‹

  4. Southeast to Puffskein den (bushy undergrowth, 4 puffskeins).โ€‹

  5. South to third Toad den (waterfall cave, 2 toads).โ€‹

  6. Southwest to Hippogriff den (elevated ledge, 1-2; bow to approach).โ€‹

  7. West to Jobberknoll den (tree hollow, 3 birds).โ€‹

  8. Northwest to fourth Toad den (deep forest glade, 3 toads).โ€‹

  9. North to second Mooncalf den (moonlit grove). Return to Floo.โ€‹

Efficiency Tips

Equip Nab-Sack, use Incendio/Levioso for crowd control, and Gliding for quick escapes; shiny odds improve after 40+ captures per den (save-scum). Sell extras at Brood & Peck for 40-120 gold each. No in-game map image here, but visualize as a tight oval around the forest center-check Game8’s gold farm guide for their illustrated route.โ€‹
