A hidden forge and a few sharp clues lead to one of the slickest armor sets added in The Witcher 3’s next-gen update-here’s where Geralt can claim it before anyone else does.
Cross-saving and your new gear
Cross-saving lets you continue your adventure seamlessly across different platforms, so any progress you make finding or upgrading your armor carries over. Load your latest save from PC, PlayStation, or Xbox through your GOG account to access the new gear instantly. This feature ensures your new Witcher armor travels with you, keeping Geralt’s style and stats consistent no matter where you play.
The new sets of armor and swords are rewards for signing into your GOG account – this is the same method you’d use for cross-platform saving.
You’ll need to head to the Royal Palace in Vizima – where you met (or will meet) up with Yennefer – to claim your new gear. You just have to find it first.
Royal Palace
Inside Vizima’s Royal Palace, Geralt can find one of the new armor sets introduced in the next-gen update. Speak with the royal armorer located near the throne room to start the related questline. The set’s design reflects Nilfgaardian craftsmanship, combining sleek metal plating with dark leather details. After completing a short assignment involving rare monster parts, the armorer will craft the full set, which offers excellent protection and fits perfectly with Geralt’s regal surroundings.
You reach the Royal Palace in Vizima relatively early in a new game. If you’ve played past this point in the past, just fast travel back to the palace.

When you arrive, you’ll also get a note from Yennefer – Letter with Yennefer’s Instructions – that tells you were to find your new armor sets and gear.
When you exit the throne room, simply follow the covered walkway in the courtyard, turning right at the corner, then take the first door on your left. You’ll be inside a chamber with a fireplace. Take the door in the back right to the adjoining room. There, under the window, you’ll find the chest with your gift.
It’s… not super helpful. Instead, use the map above to guide you. You’re heading for the upper left (northwest) corner.
Dol Blathanna and White Tiger of the West gear
The Dol Blathanna and White Tiger of the West gear sets are two standout additions in The Witcher 3’s next-gen update, each offering a distinct style and set of bonuses. The Dol Blathanna armor, crafted with an elven flair, suits a fast and agile combat approach, providing solid protection while maintaining mobility. The White Tiger of the West gear, by contrast, carries a striking white-and-gold design inspired by Eastern motifs, combining heavy armor defense with precision-focused stat boosts. Both can be obtained through new treasure hunts added with the update, giving players fresh reasons to explore familiar regions once more.

If you’re starting from a new game, you won’t be able to use your new gear right away. The Dol Blathanna gear – the Sword of a Thousand Flowers steel and White Widow of the Valley of Flowers silver swords, plus the Thousand Flowers armor, gauntlets, trousers, and boots – require level 7. The White Tiger of the West gear – the Nine-Tailed Vixen steel and silver swords, plus the White Tiger of the West armor, vambraces, trousers, and boots – require level 11.
Best stats and bonuses of White Tiger of the West armor
The White Tiger of the West armor set from The Witcher 3’s next-gen update offers solid early-game medium armor bonuses, focusing on vitality boosts and resistances against physical and monster damage. It’s a level 11 set (or higher, scaling with your level) with an Eastern-inspired design featuring tiger motifs.
Full Set Bonuses
Equipping the complete set provides these key stats:
-
+75 Vitality.
-
+5% Resistance to piercing damage.
-
+5% Resistance to bludgeoning damage.
-
+9% Resistance to slashing damage.
-
+13% Resistance to damage from monsters.
Piece-by-Piece Breakdown
| Piece | Key Bonuses |
|---|---|
| Chest | Forms the core of the set bonuses above. |
| Vambraces | +1% piercing resistance; +1% bludgeoning resistance; +5% poisoning resistance; +3% slashing resistance. |

This makes it great for melee-focused builds against humanoids and beasts, paired with its matching Nine-Tailed Vixen swords that boost critical hits, bleeding, and dismember chance.
How to get White Tiger of the West armor set
The White Tiger of the West armor set is a free, non-craftable relic set added in The Witcher 3’s next-gen update, available early in the game at level 11 (or scaled higher in NG+). It’s a complete medium armor set with matching swords, emphasizing melee survivability against humans and monsters.
Location Steps
Head to Vizima’s Royal Palace after completing the White Orchard prologue and meeting Yennefer (during the main quest “The Nilfgaardian Connection”). You’ll receive her letter automatically, directing you to a chest in her chambers.
-
Fast travel to the palace signpost.
-
Exit the throne room into the northwest courtyard corner.
-
Enter the first door on the left, pass through the fireplace room, then go through the back-right door.
-
The chest is under the window on the left-it contains the full set (chest, trousers, gauntlets, boots) plus Nine-Tailed Vixen steel/silver swords. No GOG login needed for this one (unlike the nearby Thousand Flowers set).
Requirements and Notes
No quests, combat, or crafting required; it’s loot-only and missable if you skip the letter. Equip once you hit level 11, or store it until then. The set boosts vitality (+75 full set), slashing/piercing/bludgeoning resistances, and monster damage resistance, ideal for early-game builds.
