Arknights Endfield Gacha Mechanics Guide Pity System Rates Explanation

Guides

Arknights: Endfield’s gacha system hides clever mechanics that turn random pulls into reliable Operator acquisitions-master the pity rules to claim your favorites without endless spins.

How the gacha works in Arknights: Endfield

Arknights: Endfield uses a standard gacha with a pity system that guarantees a high-rarity Operator after a set number of pulls. Players accumulate pulls through regular events, daily missions, and login rewards, with each pull offering a chance at four-star and five-star units. If you don’t receive a five-star within the pity threshold, the game guarantees one on the next pull, while a separate operator pity may apply to banners, ensuring you’ll land a coveted unit within a defined run.

The gacha system in Arknights: Endfield allows you to pull for characters, called Operators, and weapons. Each of these requires different currencies.

The operator gacha system follows a two-banner format: one limited-time banner called the Chartered Banner, and a permanent standard banner. In the former, you have a higher chance of obtaining the featured character, while in the latter, you can obtain one character from the fixed standard roster. By pulling on these banners, you can acquire four-, five-, and six-star operators. Character banners do not include weapons.

A single pull on either of the two banners costs 500 Oroberyls, a special currency that you can earn through quests or exchanging the premium currency Origeometry (one Origeometry gives you 75 Oroberyls). It is also possible to pull characters from seasonal and standard banners using special tickets called Chartered HH Permits and Basic HH Permits respectively.

A featured unit has a drop rate of 50.0000%, giving you a 50% chance to obtain them when you pull a six-star character in the Chartered banner. Here are the general drop rates for six-, five-, and four-star operators in both banners:

  • Six-star operators: 0.8000%
  • Five-star operators: 8.0000%
  • Four-star operators: 91.20000%

While the standard banner doesn’t rotate, the seasonal banners run for a set time and are the only place where you find the new six-star operators. In Endfield, after a seasonal banner ends, the rate-up character will still appear in the next two seasonal banners as possible pulls.

Notably, after doing 30 pulls on seasonal banners, you’ll get a free 10 “urgent headhunting” pull to use on that banner.

You need to perform an Arsenal Exchange to obtain signature weapons. To open the Arsenal Exchange menu, you must access the Acquisition Center or use the button on the bottom-left side of the Headhunt screen.

In the Arsenal Exchange menu, you can pull for the featured character’s signature weapon or buy weapons in a weekly changing shop by using Arsenal Tickets. This is a unique currency that you can earn from headhunting (a.k.a. pulling from character banners), the season pass, paid bundles, or by exchanging Origeometry.

The drop rate of a featured weapon is 25.0000%, which means that, whenever you pull a six-star weapon, there is a 25.0000% chance of being the rate-up one. Below, you find the base drop rates for weapons:

  • Six-star weapons: 4.0000%
  • Five-star weapons: 15.0000%
  • Four-star weapons: 81.0000%

How the pity system works in Arknights: Endfield

The pity system in Arknights: Endfield guarantees higher-rarity operators and weapons after a set number of pulls, with separate rules for character and weapon banners. Character banners feature layered pity: soft pity boosts six-star chances after a certain pull count, hard pity guarantees a six-star by a fixed threshold, and some banners add a special 120-pull guarantee for the featured operator that does not carry over between banners. Weapon banners use their own pity, typically guaranteeing at least one high-rarity weapon in every multi-pull and offering fixed milestones where a six-star or featured weapon is assured, but these weapon pity counters reset with each new banner.

The pity system in gacha games is a way for you to be rewarded after hitting a certain number of pulls. In Arknights: Endfield, there are two important thresholds when pulling for operators.

In both Chartered and standard banners, you will receive a guaranteed five-star unit every 10 pulls. Once you reach the mark of 80 pulls on a banner, you’re guaranteed to pull a six-star character. In the Chartered banner, there is a 50% chance that this character will be the featured one. Otherwise, you’ll get a different six-star operator. If you lose the 50/50 and don’t obtain the featured character, you can chase the 120th pull, which guarantees you will receive the rate-up character.

You should be mindful when managing your 80 and 120 pity counters since they are treated differently. If you lose the 50/50 near a banner’s end and then make another 40 pulls on the next banner to chase the next pity threshold, you may lose the 50/50 again. This happens because only the pity counter for the first 80 pulls is carried over from one banner to another, while the second counter resets when a banner ends. The secured 120th pull only works when performed while that specific seasonal banner is active and it can be triggered only once.

Because of how the pity works in Arknights: Endfield, you should make sure you have enough currency to perform 120 pulls. Otherwise, you risk losing a 50/50 and having the same thing happen in the next banner.

While you’re pulling for your first copy of the featured character, hitting the first 60 pulls grants you a Headhunting Dossier, which is converted into 10 special permits usable only in the next banner.

If you are thinking about pulling copies of the same character, there’s another factor to consider. When you pull a copy of the same character in Arknights: Endfield, you earn a Memento of that specific character, which unlocks one of their five passive abilities. For featured character’s mementos, you are guaranteed to receive a Memento after 240 pulls. Whether you obtain the character in the first 80 pulls or take all 120 pulls to see their colors, the threshold to guarantee a copy remains 240 pulls. You may obtain it earlier, but the chances are low.

The pity system in the weapon gacha is less convoluted. You can only pull this banner 10 times at once, rather than opting for single-pulls. After three pulls of 10 weapons, if no six-star weapon is acquired, then it is guaranteed to come in the next pull of 10 weapons. This pity counter is not carried over to the next Arsenal banners. It takes eight pulls of 10 weapons each (each 10-weapon pull costs 1,980 Arsenal Tickets) for you to receive a guaranteed rate-up six-star weapon. You can obtain it before hitting this threshold, but you can also receive any of the other six-star weapons.

Every 10 pulls (100 weapons) will also grant you an Arms OC: Smelting Forge crate that lets you claim one of the six basic five-star weapons in the game, while 18 pulls (180 weapons) give you a rate-up six-star weapon as a bonus. These effects trigger only once. After that, you receive a bonus at every eight pulls of 10 weapons that can be either an Arms OC: Smelting Forge crate or a copy of the rate-up six-star weapon.

Best beginner banner strategy for new players

New players in Arknights: Endfield should prioritize the discounted beginner banner (also called New Horizons or starter banner), which offers up to 50 pulls at 20% off and guarantees a 6โ˜… Operator.

Beginner Banner Basics

This banner lets you select from strong standard or limited 6โ˜… characters after pulls, with pity carrying over like regular banners (up to 80 for 6โ˜… guarantee). It’s available early (unlocked via Chapter 1 story progress, yielding ~40 free pulls) and ideal for rerolling accounts.

Aim for 1-2 copies of a top beginner pick like a versatile DPS or support (e.g., meta options from guides such as those highlighted in recent analyses).โ€‹

Optimal Strategy

  • Reroll if needed: Complete story for free pulls, hit pity or selector for your target 6โ˜…, then move on-takes ~30-60 minutes per account.โ€‹

  • Pull order: Exhaust discounted pulls here first before standard/limited banners to maximize value without wasting premium currency.โ€‹

  • Save after: Hoard Oroberyl for upcoming limited banners’ 50/50, using earned Arsenal Tickets for weapons.โ€‹

Step Action Pulls Needed
Story to Ch. 1 ~40 free โ€‹
Beginner pulls 40-80 for 6โ˜… โ€‹
Selector pick Top meta 6โ˜… โ€‹

This sets a strong early roster without FOMO on launches.โ€‹

Best 6-star characters to choose from New Horizons banner

Arknights: Endfield’s New Horizons beginner banner offers five key 6โ˜… Operators: Ardelia, Last Rite, Pogranichnik, Lifeng, and Ember. New players can guarantee one via 40 pulls (half pity), making it ideal for early power spikes.

Top Picks

Ardelia tops most lists as the best overall support, providing team-wide buffs, healing, and susceptibility debuffs for Physical/Arts teams-she’s free via sign-in but a banner copy adds value. Last Rite excels as a Cryo DPS carry, pairing perfectly with her signature weapon from the launch selector for high damage output. Pogranichnik ranks high for Physical teams as a battery/SP refund support with crowd control.โ€‹

Lifeng offers solid melee Physical DPS, while Ember provides shielding and frontline utility but lags in damage.โ€‹

Tier Overview

Tier Operator Role Why Prioritize?
S Ardelia Nature Support Universal buffs/heals; future-proof.
S Last Rite Cryo DPS Top damage; easy to gear fully.
A Pogranichnik Physical Support SP battery + CC for melee comps.
B Lifeng Physical DPS Strong but replaceable by free units.
C Ember Heat Defender Shields help, but low offense.

Skip rerolling for Ardelia if free; target Last Rite or Pogranichnik for roster diversity. Pair with story rewards for a balanced early team.
