The treasure is hidden inside the building with the water wheels: to access it, break the barred window with a throwing knife, enter, and drop to the ground floor to find the reward-a Black Rostam Outfit dye-waiting on a brick square inside.

The A Challenge Enigma in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is located in the Yasiriyah district of Abbasiyah, south of the House of Wisdom and southwest of the Scriptorium. To find the Enigma scroll, look for a house with a balcony shaded by a large tree. The scroll sits on a small table on this second-story balcony, which can be tricky to spot due to the surrounding foliage. The easiest way to locate it is by climbing onto the building’s roof and using Eagle Vision to highlight the glowing scroll, then dropping down onto the balcony to collect it.
You’ll find the clue a little southeast of the House of Wisdom in the Abbasiyah district to the west of the Round City district.

The “learned” the clue mentions isn’t referring to the House of Wisdom, but the Observatory across the river to the northeast. Most of the rest of the clue is just saying “paper mill” – you might’ve seen the loading screen tip about how important paper was.

The “A Challenge” Enigma in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is found on a balcony of a house in the Yasiriyah district of Abbasiyah, specifically southwest of the House of Wisdom and southeast of the Scriptorium. To solve the riddle, you must head east from the Observatory-where “the learned observe the Ram, the Scales, the Gourd”-to the area with three large water wheels near the Gate of Tahir and Tomb of Zubaydah. The treasure, the Black Rostam outfit dye, is inside the water mill building just east of the Observatory. Look for a barred window behind the water wheel closest to the Observatory, use a Throwing Knife to break the lock, enter the building, and find the brick square with the reward on the ground floor.
Due east of the Observatory, you’ll find several mills complete with huge waterwheels – you’re looking for the one on the southwest side of the island.
Behind the waterwheel, there’s a barred window, but you can see through it. More importantly, you can throw a dagger through it – specifically at the barred window to the left. Climb inside, and you’ll find the Black Rostam dye in a vat of pulp in the corner.
