Where to find Mysterious Shards in Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Mysterious Shards in Assassin’s Creed Mirage can be found carried by Tha’abeen members-elite Order of the Ancients NPCs who patrol various districts of Baghdad and the surrounding Wilderness. After completing the “Old Wounds” quest, these shards become visible on your map as golden icons when you get close to their carriers. There are 10 shards in total, with two located in each of the five main areas: Abbasiyah, Harbiyah, Karkh, Round City, and the Wilderness. Since these shard holders move along set patrol routes, it’s best to use Basim’s eagle, Enkidu, or Eagle Vision to track them down. You can obtain the shards either by pickpocketing or eliminating the carriers. Once collected, the shards can be exchanged in a secret chamber beneath the Northern Oasis to unlock powerful Isu-themed gear and weapons.
There are 10 Mysterious Shards scattered all over Baghdad and its surrounding landscapes. However, unlike Gear Chests, Lost Books, and Enigmas, you can’t purchase maps that show their locations from the Cartographer NPC. Below, see a map showing the general locations of Mysterious Shards in Assassin’s Creed Mirage:

Here are some tips to help you find these items:
- Mysterious Shards are carried by followers of the Order of the Ancients. These followers tend to patrol around a small area (marked in the map above), and they may sometimes be accompanied by bodyguards.
- We suggest pinging the map via Eagle Vision, which is done by pressing the “V” key on computer or left on the D-pad on console. The radius is large enough that you’ll reveal near by shard carriers. Alternatively, you can use your eagle, Enkidu, to scout from above.

- Once you’ve spotted an Order member, Basim will remark that the person looks suspicious. If you’re detected, they will turn hostile, and you’ll have to fight them.
- If you approach carefully from behind, you can assassinate your target, along with their bodyguards. It’s also possible to pickpocket the target to steal the shard, though you’re likely to get spotted once the NPC quickly turns around. If you’ve successfully stolen the shard and you don’t want to fight back, you can just run away and break line of sight.
Once you’ve acquired enough shards, you can exchange them for rewards in the secret chamber in the Northern Oasis.
Mysterious Shards rewards in AC Mirage
Mysterious Shards in Assassin’s Creed Mirage are rare collectibles carried by elite Order members called Tha’abeen, scattered across Baghdad and the surrounding wilderness. Collecting all 10 shards allows players to unlock powerful rewards by inserting them into three plinths located in a hidden chamber beneath the Northern Oasis. These rewards include the Samsaama dagger with life steal, the Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar sword that boosts damage at the cost of health, and Milad’s Outfit armor that triggers a lightning effect on air assassinations. Players can obtain shards by assassinating or pickpocketing the Tha’abeen, making these shards a key part of enhancing Basim’s abilities and gear in the game.

You can exchange Mysterious Shards for Isu-themed loot in the secret chamber in the Northern Oasis. In the central chamber, you’ll find three smaller chambers protected by forcefields. Look at the plinths in front of each forcefield; each plinth features a number of pips, which denote how many shards each item costs.

All of these rewards are fully upgraded, by the way, which means they’ve got top-tier stats and unique perks.
- Two Mysterious Shards: The Samsaama, a dagger with 27 damage and 27 defense damage. It also comes with the Life Steal perk, which heals 10% of your HP on every fifth hit.
- Three Mysterious Shards: Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar, a sword with 46 damage and 78 defense damage. It has the Blood Price perk, which boosts your damage by 50% but cuts your health by 50%.
- Five Mysterious Shards: Milad’s Outfit, an armor set. It has the Forgotten Terror perk, which makes it so successfully aerial assassinations set off a flash of lightning that disorients bystanders within a 15-meter radius.
Harbiyah Mysterious Shard location #1
The first Harbiyah Mysterious Shard in Assassin’s Creed Mirage can be found in the area between the Great Mosque, Damascus Gate Prison, and the Soap Boiler’s District, specifically in the Quadrangle of the Persians. The Order member carrying this shard is a Tha’abeen who is accompanied by a single guard and initially stands at the south end of the bridge at the northeast corner of the Soap Boiler’s District. To collect the shard covertly, players must first eliminate the guard, which prompts the Tha’abeen to start moving along her patrol route, beginning with a southward path to the Soap Boiler’s market before continuing her usual rounds.

Location: This Order member walks from the Upper Harbor, heading to the east in the plaza between the Prince’s Palace and Khurasan Gate Guardhouse.
Harbiyah Mysterious Shard location #2
The second Harbiyah Mysterious Shard in Assassin’s Creed Mirage can be found on an Order member who patrols the area between the Khurasan Gate Guardhouse and the Prince’s Palace. This NPC is often seen near the northeastern port along the river and moves along a route that includes stopping briefly by the river close to the Prince’s Palace. Players can track this shard holder using their compass when nearby, and the shard can be obtained either by assassinating or pickpocketing the target. This shard is part of the quest “The Calling” and collecting it contributes to unlocking special rewards in the game.

Location: You’ll find this Order member crossing the bridge between the Great Mosque and Soap Boiler’s District.
Abbasiyah Mysterious Shard location #1
The first Mysterious Shard in Abbasiyah can be found near the Four Markets location in the Suburb of Kahtabah area on the east side of Abbasiyah. The Tha’abeen carrying this shard is accompanied by a single guard and patrols between the Abbasiyah and Karkh regions, making it unique as it covers two areas. Players can track this shard carrier using the compass icon and plan an assassination or pickpocket to acquire the shard, which is essential for progressing in Nehal’s quest “The Calling” and unlocking special rewards.

Location: This Order initiate travels along the streets between the Observatory and the House of Wisdom.
Abbasiyah Mysterious Shard location #2
The Abbasiyah Mysterious Shard #2 in Assassin’s Creed Mirage can be found next to the archway southwest of the Tax Collector’s Mansion in the Fief of Rayasanah area of Karhk, near the border between Karhk and the Haylanah area of Abbasiyah. The shard carrier, a Tha’abeen member, patrols around this area and is unguarded, making it possible to pickpocket the shard or lure the carrier into a hiding spot for a safe acquisition. Tracking this shard is easier by using your compass, as the shard icon appears when you are within about 100 meters.

Location: This target strolls the main road from the Four Markets Gate and the Hammam to Kufa Gate.
Karkh Mysterious Shard location #1
The first Mysterious Shard in Karkh can be found near the Great Garrison and Confiscation Warehouse in the southeast part of the district. This shard is held by a Tha’abeen member who patrols extensively but can be pickpocketed since she is unaccompanied by guards, making her the easiest target to obtain a shard from in Karkh. Her patrol route is long, taking about an hour to complete, but there are many benches along the way where players can wait and plan their approach. Tracking her on the map and compass is recommended to pinpoint her location due to her constant movement.

Location: You’ll find this Mysterious Shard carrier in the Sharqiyah Gate area, close to the Great Garrison, Confiscation Warehouse, and Cookmen’s Quarter.
Karkh Mysterious Shard location #2
In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the second Mysterious Shard in the Karkh district can be found near a scaffolding archway located northeast of the Confiscation Warehouse and northwest of Sharqiyah Gate. This spot lies on the border between the Sharqiyah and Tabik areas of Karkh. The shard carrier is typically accompanied by one guard, so players should plan their approach carefully, using stealth or ranged attacks like throwing knives to secure the shard without alerting nearby enemies.

Location: This member of the Order travels along the southern part of Baghdad, from the Pomegranate Gate to the outskirts of the Bazaar.
Wilderness Mysterious Shard location #1
The first Wilderness Mysterious Shard in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is located in Anbar, near where you complete the “Old Wounds” main quest. This shard is carried by a Tha’abeen member who patrols a route starting from Basim’s home suburbs, crossing a bridge past the Munadi, moving south past the Viewpoint and out of the city gates, then west across the river and north through the farms back to the start. Key spots for assassination include a corner north of Anbar’s western gate near an explosive pot, beside a hay cart between the Munadi and the Viewpoint, and near the river where the target examines crops alone, offering stealth kill opportunities with no witnesses. Another effective method is to use a throwing knife to detonate an explosive pot outside the western gate to eliminate the target and guards simultaneously.

Location: You’ll find this target in the outskirts of Anbar, Basim’s home village. The target usually walks in the fields and dirt roads near the southwestern gate.
Wilderness Mysterious Shard location #2
The second Wilderness Mysterious Shard in Assassin’s Creed Mirage can be found around the west side of the town of Jarjarayah, which lies south-southeast of Baghdad along the bank of the river Tigris. The shard is carried by a member of the Order of the Ancients who wanders the outskirts of this area. Players should use their compass to track the shard icon, as the carrier moves within this region. Once located, the shard can be obtained by either pickpocketing or assassinating the target, contributing to the quest “The Calling” and unlocking special rewards.

Location: This Mysterious Shard carrier is just outside the village of Jarjaraya. To get there, simply follow the coast southeast from the Karkh district.
Round City Mysterious Shard location #1
The first Mysterious Shard in the Round City can be found near the Damascus Gate on the north side, specifically in the Administrative District close to the northernmost viewpoint and the Mazalim Courts. The shard is held by a Tha’abeen member who patrols this area, usually accompanied by guards, making it necessary to approach cautiously. Players can either pickpocket or assassinate the shard holder to collect the shard, which is part of Nehal’s mission “The Calling” and contributes to unlocking secret chests with exclusive rewards.

Location: You can get this Assassin’s Creed Mirage Mysterious Shard by taking out the target in the Round City’s Administrative District. The member walks along the streets from Damascus Gate to the Postal Bureau.
Round City Mysterious Shard location #2
The second Mysterious Shard in the Round City can be found in the southern part of the district, specifically between the Harem and Basra Gate. The Tha’abeen carrying this shard patrols the Residential District and occasionally crosses into the Commander’s District along Cartographer Street. This NPC is guarded by two spear-wielding guards, making it a challenging target for a stealthy assassination or pickpocket. Players should use their compass to track the shard holder, who moves around the area near the Harem, and be prepared for a cautious approach due to the guards and nearby city patrols.

Location: This Order member is in the Residential Area section of the Round City, specifically outside the Harem.
Have I uncovered all the secret locations for Mysterious Shards in Baghdad
You can find all 10 Mysterious Shards scattered across Baghdad and its surrounding wilderness regions in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Each of the five main areas-Harbiyah, Abbasiyah, Karkh, Round City, and the Wilderness-contains two shards carried by roaming members of the Order of the Ancients. These shard holders patrol specific districts but move around, so tracking them with your compass and Enkidu’s scouting ability is essential. Once you have collected all shards, you can unlock powerful secret gear in a hidden chamber beneath the Northern Oasis. If you have located and collected shards in all these regions, you have uncovered all the secret Mysterious Shard locations in Baghdad.
Have I missed any Mysterious Shard locations in Baghdad’s main districts
If you have thoroughly explored Baghdad’s main districts-Harbiyah, Abbasiyah, Karkh, and Round City-and tracked down the Tha’abeen carriers in each area, you likely have not missed any Mysterious Shard locations. Each of these four city zones contains two shards, usually held by roaming Tha’abeen members accompanied by guards, who patrol specific routes but may vary their paths clockwise or counterclockwise.
For example, in Abbasiyah, shards can be found near the Four Markets in the Suburb of Kahtabah and near the archway southwest of the Tax Collector’s Mansion in Karkh’s Fief of Rayasanah, which borders Abbasiyah. In Round City, shards are located near the Administrative District by the northern viewpoint and near Kufa Gate on the southwestern border. Using your eagle or Enkidu’s scouting ability to detect the shard carriers and monitoring your compass for the shard icon within roughly 100 meters will help ensure none are overlooked.
If you have collected shards from these known patrol areas and districts, you have found all the Mysterious Shards in Baghdad’s main districts. Any missing shard is likely in the wilderness areas outside the city or requires careful tracking of the Tha’abeen’s patrol routes.
