All seven fragments of the Totem of Rightful Rulership are hidden throughout Dawnshore and its capital, Paradis. As soon as you find one piece of the totem (or purchase the “Fragments of the Scales” key item from Sanza), you’ll receive a quest to find and complete the Scales of the Oathbinder. The quest, however, is full of cryptic riddles.
Here’s where to find all Totem of Rightful Rulership pieces in Dawnshore in Avowed, and what bonuses you’ll receive upon completing the totem.
All Totem of Rightful Rulership locations in Avowed
The Totem of Rightful Rulership in Avowed is a powerful collectible linked to the deity Woedica, found exclusively in the Dawnshore region and its capital, Paradis. It consists of seven fragments, including a core piece known as the Woedica totem base, which is located at the Shrine to Woedica northeast of Paradis. Players must collect all fragments scattered throughout Dawnshore, such as the Golden Plaque of Promises near the lighthouse west of Claviger’s Landing and others on islands and ruins across the area. Once all pieces are gathered, they can be assembled at a Party Camp to activate various buffs that enhance attributes and abilities for the player and their companions. To aid in locating these pieces, it is recommended to enable the “Compass – God Shrine Totem Pieces” option in the UI, which highlights their positions on the compass. The quest to find these fragments involves solving riddles provided by the vendor Sanza in Paradis, making the hunt both challenging and rewarding.
There are seven pieces of the Totem of Rightful Rulership scattered around Dawnshore. The totem is associated with Woedica.
To start reconstructing the totem, you’ll need to find the totem’s core (the Woedica totem base), which we’ve labeled as number one in the map above. Once you’ve placed the totem’s core at the totem shrine in the party camp, you can add the totem’s fragments (numbers two through seven on the map) to gain powerful buffs. Each god totem grants up to six buffs – including bonuses to your attribute points – but you can only have one god totem active at a time.
Before searching for the totem pieces, we recommend turning on the “Compass – God Shrine Totem Pieces” setting at the bottom of the UI menu. Turning on this setting will make god totem pieces visible on your compass, and make it slightly easier to pinpoint their exact location in-game.

Totem of Rightful Rulership core location (#1)
The Totem of Rightful Rulership core, also known as the Woedica totem base, is located at the Shrine to Woedica in the northeastern part of Dawnshore, specifically in the area called The Rise. It rests on an altar inside the shrine, near soldiers who are restoring the site. This core is essential to begin assembling the totem; once placed at your party camp’s totem shrine, you can add the other fragments to activate powerful buffs for your party. The core can be taken without difficulty, and speaking with the soldiers first may grant permission to retrieve it.
The Totem of Rightful Rulership totem core can be found at the Shrine to Woedica, which can be found northeast of Paradis.
To find the totem core, follow these steps:
- Travel to The Rise party camp, northeast of Paradis.
- Cross the bridge to the north and walk up the stairs of the Shrine to Woedica.
- Collect the Totem Core on top of the altar at the top of the stairs.
Golden Plaque of Promises location (#2)
The Golden Plaque of Promises, a key fragment for the Totem of Rightful Rulership in Avowed, is located atop the lighthouse west of Claviger’s Landing in Dawnshore. To reach it, climb the lighthouse via the pathway on its east side until you find a hole in the wall where the plaque rests on a wooden crate. This solid gold plaque bears several promises, most of which are scratched out, and offers the Noblesse Oblige effect, granting rapid health and essence regeneration when reviving a companion. Collecting this piece is essential for assembling Woedica’s totem and unlocking its passive buffs at your party camp.
The Golden Plaque of Promises can be found near the top of the lighthouse, which is located to the west of Claviger’s Landing.
To find the Golden Plaque of Promises, follow these steps:
- Travel to the lighthouse west of Claviger’s Landing in Dawnshore.
- Climb up the lighthouse using the pathway found on the east side of the lighthouse until you find a hole in the wall.
- Collect the Golden Plaque of Promises atop the wooden crate.
Golden Scale of Justice location (#3)
The Golden Scale of Justice, a key fragment for the Totem of Rightful Rulership quest in Avowed, is located in a hidden room in the northern part of the Market District in Paradis City. To reach it, players must climb onto a wooden platform by stacking boxes near a red house, then crouch and jump across to a balcony covered by a canvas. Inside, a web blocks a ladder leading down to the room where Phantom enemies guard the Golden Scale. Using fire spells or Kai’s ability to burn the web is necessary to access the ladder. Defeating the enemies allows players to claim the Golden Scale of Justice, which enhances Fire Accumulation on critical hits and contributes to the powerful Totem of Woedica.
The Golden Scale of Justice can be found inside a building north of the Market District in Paradis. The main entrance to the building is locked, so you’ll need to go through its balcony.
To find the Golden Scale of Justice, follow these steps:
- Teleport to the Administration District Beacon in Paradis.
- Head up to the top of the stairs just before the Paradis Hightown entrance.
- Turn right and jump over the railing onto the grass patch.
- Drop down onto the other grass patch and walk along the stone wall towards the balcony.
- Jump onto the balcony and head inside the building.
- Go down the ladder on the left and fend off the phantoms inside.
- Collect the Golden Scale of Justice on the floor beside the bookshelf.
Broken Crown Jewel location (#4)
The Broken Crown Jewel Totem Fragment, part of the Totem of Rightful Rulership quest in Avowed, is located in Sanza’s Emporium in the Hightown district of Paradis. To find it, enter the red building known as Sanza’s Emporium, then go through the door to the left of Sanza’s counter into his bedroom. The fragment rests on a desk in this room, easily accessible without any combat or puzzles. Access to Hightown requires progressing the main story until the “An Untimely End” quest unlocks the area. This fragment grants the “Swift Orders” effect, reducing companion ability cooldowns by 15%, making it a valuable early collectible for the quest.
The Broken Crown Jewel can be found on a desk in the backroom of Sanza’s Emporium in Northern Paradis.
To find the Broken Crown Jewel, follow these steps:
- Travel to the High Market Beacon in Northern Paradis.
- Head east and enter Sanza’s Emporium.
- Enter the door to the left of Sanza and collect the Broken Crown Jewel on the desk.
Golden Plaque of Oaths location (#5)
The Golden Plaque of Oaths is located at Usher’s Hand, a landmark east of Paradis City in the Dawnshore region of Avowed. To find it, head to Usher’s Hand in the Southern Embrace area, where you’ll encounter high-level enemies like ghouls and skeletons. After dealing with or avoiding these foes, approach the eastern side of the stone pillar structure to find a cave entrance. Inside, you will need to navigate through a small tunnel and an underwater passage to reach the Golden Plaque of Oaths. This totem fragment is part of Woedica’s Totem of Rightful Rulership quest and provides buffs when placed at the Totem Shrine.
The Golden Plaque of Oaths can be found just northwest of Usher’s Hand, which is located to the east of Paradis.
There are two ways to reach the Golden Plaque of Oaths – through the cave or through the freezable grate.
Through the cave
- Travel to the Southern Embrace party camp southeast of Usher’s Hand.
- Follow the pathway to the north until you spot a cave entrance on the side of Usher’s Hand.
- Enter the cave and dive into the water.
- Follow the waterway to its end to find the Golden Plaque of Oaths.
Through the freezable grate
- Travel to the Gods’ Gate Beacon north of Usher’s Hand.
- Walk south towards the collapsed ruins.
- Walk around the ruins to the other side to find a freezable grate embedded in the ground.
- Freeze the grate with a frost spell or an Eye of Rymrgand and drop down to collect the Golden Plaque of Oaths.
Golden Flames location (#6)
The Golden Flames fragment of the Totem of Rightful Rulership in Avowed is located on Castol’s Folly, a small island northeast of Paradis in the Dawnshore region. To reach it, start from the Ondra’s Reach Beacon on Paradis’s south coast, swim towards Castol’s Folly, then follow the path past a shipwreck and across wooden platforms to a bandit camp. After defeating the enemies, continue along the path, turning left near a half-sunken house and a sunken silo, until you reach a golden light atop a ledge overlooking the island. This is where the Golden Flames piece can be collected, completing an important step in assembling the totem and unlocking its powerful buffs.
The Golden Flames can be found along the eastern cliffs of Castol’s Folly.
To find the Golden Flames, follow these steps:
- Travel to the Southern Embrace party camp.
- Head south to find a broken terrain leading towards Castol’s Folly.
- Jump across the the terrain to the other side.
- Head inside of Castol’s Folly and go into the cave with vines growing along the walls above it.
- Destroy the breakable wall with an attack from your weapon.
- Climb to the top of the terrain and walk along the wall on your right until you reach the edge.
- Jump across the gap to the other side and follow the path to find the Golden Flames.
Golden Scale of Order location (#7)
The Golden Scale of Order is a key Totem Fragment for Woedica’s Totem of Rightful Rulership in Avowed, located within the Pargrun Cache ruins in the Dawnshore region. To reach it, players must head east of the Strangleroot forest and northwest of the Pilgrim’s Path, accessing the old fort by breaking a weak wall near a bridge. The journey involves climbing scaffolding, disabling traps, and defeating enemies inside the ruins. The fragment itself is found in a bird’s nest atop the ruins, accessible by careful platforming and exploration. Collecting this piece grants the “Power of Command” ability, which temporarily boosts damage after activating a companion ability, making it a valuable asset for combat. Players should ensure they have the Totem Base before collecting fragments to activate the totem’s buffs at their camp.
The Golden Scale of Order can be found inside the Pargrun Cache in the northwestern section of Dawnshore.
To find the Golden Scale of Order, follow these steps:
- Travel to the Overgrown Expanse party camp.
- Cross the bridge to the northeast and follow the path to find a destructible wall with explosive barrels along it.
- Destroy the wall and enter the Pargrun Cache.
- Climb up the wooden platforms and jump across to the stone balcony.
- Head up the stairs on the left and jump across the gap to the other set of stairs.
- Go up the stairs and slowly follow the path, but don’t immediately turn the corner on your right.
- Deactivate the tripwires to prevent the traps from going off and follow the path towards the next building.
- Go up the stairs and turn to the left to find a path between the building and the wall.
- Follow the pathway into the building and climb the wooden platforms in the corner of the room.
- Jump across the wooden platforms towards the hole in the wall.
- Go through the hole in the wall and jump across the broken terrain to find the Golden Scale of Order in the bird’s nest.
All Totem of Rightful Rulership bonuses
The Totem of Rightful Rulership in Avowed grants several powerful bonuses when fully assembled and activated at your party camp. These include Swift Orders, which reduces companion ability cooldowns by 15%; The Power of Command, which increases your damage for five seconds after activating a companion ability; and Sympathy for the Damned, causing critical hits to deal high fire accumulation. Additionally, other buffs include Second Wind casting Ring of Fire, rapid health and essence regeneration when reviving a companion, and a boost of +2 Intellect and +2 Resolve to your attributes. Collecting all seven pieces, including the core, from the Dawnshore region and assembling them unlocks these enhancements, but only one god totem can be active at a time, so choose the one that best fits your playstyle.
Once you have all of the Totem of Rightful Rulership pieces, head to the Totem Shrine at your party camp and reassemble the Scales of the Oathbinder. Activate the totem to receive the following buffs:
