Not to your taste? We also have builds for the Sorcerer, Barbarian, Druid, Spiritborn, and Necromancer classes.
In this Diablo 4 guide, we’ve gathered and simplified the best Diablo 4 Rogue builds for season 7. If you need even more information on item affixes or other more complex ideas, we’ve been sure to link out to the more detailed versions of these builds, as well as where to find their original creators.
Best Rogue build for leveling in Diablo 4 season 7
The best Rogue leveling build in Diablo 4 Season 7 focuses on swift mob clearing and quick mobility, pairing Penetrating Arrow with rapid Pack Mule movement and strong escapes. Prioritize talents that boost area damage, movement speed, and resource efficiency to breeze through early zones, while choosing passives that reduce cooldowns on core skills. This setup aims for smooth leveling by maximizing uptime on targets and minimizing downtime between packs.

This build is based off DeezyTheMonster‘s Rogue leveling guide at Maxroll.gg, and is purely for leveling (i.e., allocating your 71 skill points between levels 1 and 60) and early stages of the Torment I difficulty level. If you want more detailed information about the item affixes you want to look for on your gear, or which other Legendary powers are great for your build, check out the original Maxroll.gg guide.
Best skills for leveling
Rogues specialize in both ranged and melee, but this leveling build mostly uses knives. This build specifically utilizes the Flurry ability as your primary skill. You’ll also use Shadow Clone, Blade Shift, Dark Shroud, Dash, and Shadow Imbuement.
Here are the best skills for a Rogue leveling build, organized by the exact order you should purchase them in – bearing in mind that some skills require you to allocate a number of skill points in the tree in order to unlock them. - Flurry (rank 1-5) / Enhanced Flurry / Improved Flurry
- Shadow Step / Enhanced Shadow Step / Disciplined Shadow Step
- Dash / Enhanced Dash / Methodical Dash

Best Legendary Aspects for Rogues leveling build
When you first start your new character, complete these three dungeons first in order to collect their Aspects. Then place them on a piece of gear (ideally jewelry and never weapons). The random drop Aspects are all nice to add to your Codex and your gear if you’re lucky enough to find them on your leveling journey.
- Wind Striker (Shivta Ruins, Kehjistan)
- Arrow Storms (Howling Warren, Scosglen)
- Vengeful (Inferno, Kehjistan)
- Might (Dark Ravine, Dry Steppes)
- Encircling Blades (Forsaken Quarry, Fractured Peaks)
- Expectant (Underroot, Scosglen)
Best Rogue build for endgame
For endgame Rogue dominance in Diablo 4 Season 7, Shadow Imbue Twisting Blades shines with Penetrating Shot as a strong alternative. Pair Twisting Blades with Shadow Step, Dark Shroud, and Poison Trap for mobility and burst, stacking Cold Imbue or Shadow Imbue for vulnerability. Core gear prioritizes Innervate on weapons, Haste on gloves, and Rank 4 Twisting Blades on amulet, fueled by the Energize key passive. Use Stars of Chaos for ultimate damage spikes and Exposure for crit scaling. This setup clears Pit 100+ and high-tier Torment with sustained output and evasion.
Note: The following build was one of the best Rogue endgame builds for season 6. While you might not get the most bang for your buck from it in season 7, it’s still effective as of this writing.
This build is based off of M1PY‘s Dance of Knives Rogue endgame guide at MaxRoll.gg, and is a general endgame guide capable of finding success in all activities. This guide assumes that you’re over level 60, have access to all 71 skill points, and are making progress on your Paragon Boards. If you want more detailed information about the item affixes you want to look for on your gear, or why these Legendary powers are great for your build, check out the original MaxRoll guide.
Best skill points for Dance of Knives build for endgame
This build utilizes Dance of Knives as its core skill. It also uses Blade Shift, Concealment, Dark Shroud, Cold Imbuement, and Shadow Imbuement.

- Siphoning Strikes (rank 1-3)
- Sturdy (rank 1-3)

Paragon Boards for Rogue Rapid Dance of Knives build
The Paragon Board system is very complex, and you’ll want to carefully pair your Glyphs with specific boards for your class:
- Starter Board / Versatility
- Danse Macabre / Canny
- Exploit Weakness / Control
- Cheap Shot / Explosive
- No Witnesses / Devious
You should level your Glyphs to 15 in this specific order:
- Versatility
- Explosive
- Canny
- Devious
- Control
You can path your own way through the Paragon Boards following these basic guidelines. However, for the best results, follow M1PY’s path exactly.
How to make a great Rogue build
Master a build that prioritizes burst damage and mobility, pairing precise Rogue skills with agility-enhancing gear to weave through fights. Focus on selecting weapons and passives that boost critical hits, attack speed, and stamina management, while leveraging crowd-control tools to split and isolate targets. Calibrate your skill rotation for maximum uptime on high-damage windows, and tailor your talismans and legendary affixes to amplify core strengths like burst damage, sustain, and fast traversal.

Rogues are the classic bow-wielders in Diablo 4. But they’re also much more than that. Instead of just slinging arrows, they also utilize stealth, traps, and knives. This makes them one of Diablo 4‘s most versatile classes, and also gives them several different build paths to take:
- Momentum
- Melee
- Precision
- Vulnerable
- Trap
Melee-specific builds have a few options. They can use the Momentum Key Passive to deal additional damage and gain bonus effects when backstabbing enemies or attacking those impacted by certain crowd control effects, like Stunned Dazed, or Frozen. Similarly, the Close Quarters Combat Key Passive gives you bonuses for using certain skills on enemies that are nearby.
For ranged builds, Precision is your best bet. Hitting a critical hit on an enemy with Marksman skills increases your crit chance drastically over time.
Then there are Rogue’s status builds. The Victimize Key Passive causes hits on Vulnerable enemies to create an explosion. The Exposure Key Passive gives a small chance for some massive buffs when the Rogue deals damage with a trap.
The important thing to remember when building your own Rogue build is that mobility and versatility are your friends. The Key Passives here aren’t entire identities on their own the way some other classes are. Instead, they’re huge bonuses that can fit into multiple playstyles. While making your Rogue, figure out which skills you want to use and which Specializations you want to use first, then pick out your Key Passive once you reach the end.
Rain of Arrows Rogue full skill tree and rotation guide
Here’s a clean, up-to-date Rain of Arrows (RoA) Rogue skill setup and a practical rotation you can actually follow.
Skill bar and full tree outline
This is a typical Season 7+ style RoA Precision Rogue layout, adapted from current endgame guides.
Skill bar
-
Heartseeker (Basic) – main generator and Precision stack builder.
-
Barrage (Core) – dumps Energy and builds Precision + Preparation stacks (if using that key passive earlier).โ
-
Dash – mobility and repositioning, also a trigger for some damage bonuses.
-
Caltrops or Smoke Grenade – crowd control and big damage amp for RoA.
-
Concealment – Unstoppable, damage amp (Danse Macabre, Subverting Concealment).โ
-
Rain of Arrows (Ultimate) – main nuke.
Skill tree (71 points concept) – exact numbers can flex a bit between offense/defense, but the structure looks like this.
-
Basic
-
1/5 Heartseeker โ Enhanced Heartseeker โ Fundamental Heartseeker.
-
-
Core
-
0-1 point in a Core attack on bar (often Barrage) just to unlock the section and use it as a resource dump.โ
-
3/3 Stutter Step (move-speed on crit).โ
-
-
Agility
-
1/5 Dash โ Enhanced Dash.
-
1/5 Caltrops (or Smoke Grenade instead) โ Enhanced Caltrops for damage amp.
-
3/3 Weapon Mastery, 3/3 Trick Attacks, 3/3 Balestra, 3/3 Unstable Elixirs (damage with potions).
-
-
Subterfuge
-
1/5 Concealment โ Enhanced + Subverting Concealment (for damage amp and Unstoppable).โ
-
Optional 1-3 points in other Subterfuge nodes for survivability/utility depending on your gear.โ
-
-
Imbuements
-
Many RoA setups skip direct Imbuement actives and instead rely on other multipliers; if you do run one, it’s usually Shadow Imbuement (1 point + upgrades) for extra AoE and vulnerable application, but this competes for bar space.
-
-
Ultimate
-
1/1 Rain of Arrows โ Enhanced + Supreme Rain of Arrows.
-
1/1 Precision key passive (core of the build).
-
Use extra points to max important damage passives (e.g., exploit, crit/vuln nodes, ranged damage, vs crowd-controlled) and a couple of defensive nodes if you feel squishy.
Core mechanics (why the rotation matters)
-
Precision: Each Marksman skill cast gives a Precision stack; at 3 stacks, your next Marksman Ultimate/Core gets a huge crit chance/damage boost and consumes the stacks. Rain of Arrows counts for this, so you always want a 3-stack Precision RoA.โ
-
Cooldown + resource: RoA has a long base cooldown and strong Energy cost, so you stack cooldown reduction and use ring tempers (Ultimate skills restore Primary Resource) so every RoA cycle refills Energy.
-
Damage windows: Caltrops/Smoke Grenade/Concealment all provide short damage buffs or debuffs on enemies; lining RoA inside those windows is where the build shines.
Single-target / boss rotation (precision cycle)
This is the “strict” rotation used in modern guides; it looks complicated but flows well with practice.โ
-
Every ~10 seconds, drink a potion to keep Unstable Elixirs damage buff up (if specced).โ
-
Before the nuke window, drop Caltrops on the boss to apply its damage-boosting effect.
-
Throw Smoke Grenade (or equivalent CC) to further debuff and crowd-control the target.
-
Cast Concealment to become Unstoppable and gain the Concealment and Danse Macabre damage bonuses.โ
-
Make sure you have 3 Precision stacks prepared:
-
Cast Barrage once to dump Energy and gain 1 stack.โ
-
Cast Heartseeker twice to reach 3 stacks of Precision.โ
-
-
Immediately cast Rain of Arrows while all those buffs are active to consume Precision and deal a huge crit.โ
-
After RoA:
-
Spam Barrage to spend Energy (for Preparation/resource synergies if you use them) and rebuild Precision.โโ
-
Use Heartseeker to top off Precision stacks and keep Stutter Step and other procs rolling.โ
-
-
Re-apply Caltrops/Smoke/Concealment as they come off cooldown, then repeat the RoA + 3-stack Precision cycle.
If you want a simpler version, many players use: “3x Heartseeker โ Caltrops (if ready) โ Dash or Concealment for extra buffs โ Rain of Arrows,” then spam Heartseeker/Barrage while waiting for the next RoA.โ
Trash / Pit clear rotation
For packs in Pits or Helltides, you don’t always need the full setup.โ
-
Dash into position or kite p
Best gear and aspects for Rain of Arrows Rogue Season 11
For a Season 11 Rain of Arrows Rogue, you want a bow-centric setup that massively buffs ultimates, Imbuements, and cooldown/reset synergy while stacking crit, cooldown reduction, and dexterity.
Weapon and offensive legendaries
-
Bow: Skyhunter (or other high-roll unique bow) is a premier choice for RoA due to its strong unique effect and raw damage; look for high crit chance, crit damage, and useful secondary affixes.
-
Core offensive legendary powers:
-
Word of Hakan-style effect (on amulet or ring): makes your Rain of Arrows automatically carry your Imbuements, so every cast benefits from Cold/Poison/Shadow without you manually applying them each time.โโ
-
Arrow Storms / Rain of Arrows damage aspect: turns RoA into an “Arrowstorm” skill and adds a large separate multiplier (around 60-65% more damage at high roll).
-
Ultimate-damage multiplier aspect: generic aspects that give big increased damage to ultimate skills are extremely strong on RoA builds and should be on amulet/2-hander if possible.โโ
-
Core defensive and utility aspects
-
Dark Shroud generator aspect: automatically generates Dark Shroud stacks in combat, giving both damage reduction and extra damage from Shroud-related synergies.โโ
-
Boots aspect that restores resource on movement/skill spam: helps you dump Energy after casting RoA to trigger Preparation and reset your ultimate faster, while also granting movement speed.
-
Damage reduction + movement speed boots: look for movement speed, cooldown reduction, and dexterity, then Sanctify/Temper for extra life or dodge for survivability.โโ
Gear slots and stat priorities
Helmet
-
Key stats: Cooldown reduction, maximum life, Damage Reduction, Resource Generation.
-
Legendary power: Either a defensive aspect (damage reduction while Fortified, vs close enemies, etc.) or a secondary offensive amp if you’re comfortable with survivability.โ
Chest
-
Key stats: Damage Reduction from close/distant enemies, vs cursed/elite, Armor, Maximum life.โ
-
Power: Dark Shroud-enhancing or generic mitigation aspect if not on another slot.โโ
Gloves
-
Key stats: Critical Strike Chance, Attack Speed, Lucky Hit Chance, Core/Marksman skill ranks.โโ
-
Power: Aspect increasing crit damage or core/Marksman damage; you can also use an aspect that further reinforces Dark Shroud or ultimate synergy if you don’t need more raw DPS here.โ
Pants
-
Key stats: Damage Reduction, maximum life, Armor, movement or dodge if available.โ
-
Power: Defensive aspect (reduced damage while injured, barrier on hit, etc.), especially valuable in high-tier Pits.
Boots
-
Key stats: Movement Speed, Cooldown Reduction, Dodge Chance, Dexterity.โ
-
Power: Boots aspect that interacts with Energy dumping to reduce ultimate cooldown and improves mobility; top RoA guides value this very highly for chaining Rain of Arrows.
Amulet
-
Key stats: Cooldown Reduction, Resource Generation or Cost Reduction, Crit Chance, Dexterity.
-
Power: Ideally the “RoA counts as imbued with all your Imbuements” type aspect or your highest-value ultimate damage buff, because amulets give increased aspect value.โโ
Rings
-
Key stats: Critical Strike Chance, Critical Strike Damage, Cooldown Reduction (now available on rings), Resource Generation / Primary Resource on hit.
-
Powers:
-
Ultimate skills restore Primary Resource when cast (on one or both rings) so every RoA refills Energy for your reset rotation.โโ
-
Arrow Storms / extra Rain of Arrows damage aspect if not on another slot.โ
-
Season 11 systems: Tempering, Masterworking, Sanctification
-
Tempering: Prioritize crafting affixes that give Cooldown Reduction (now also on gloves and rings), crit chance, and vulnerable uptime to amplify each Rain of Arrows volley.
-
Masterworking: Funnel upgrades into the pieces that hold your highest-value multipliers (Word-of-Hakan-style aspect, Arrow Storms/ultimate damage aspect, Skyhunter), since enhancing those gives the most DPS per upgrade.โ
-
Sanctification: Use Sanctification primarily to add dexterity or complementary defensive/utility bonuses (damage reduction, extra life, or resource tools) on key pieces rather than chasing raw seasonal power; the build’s main damage still comes from your aspects and itemization.โโ
Quick target list (what to farm first)
-
Skyhunter or a comparable high-roll unique bow with strong offensive affixes.
-
One item with the “Imbue all Rain of Arrows with your Imbuements” effect (commonly on amulet or ring).โโ
-
Ring/boots combination that restores Primary Resource and reduces ultimate cooldown as
