Get ready to dive back into the dark and thrilling world of Sanctuary with Diablo 4’s “Return to Sanctuary” event, launching on November 19, 2024. This limited-time celebration brings a host of exciting in-game activities, including character boosts, the eerie return of the Red-Cloaked Horror, and the revival of the Mother’s Blessing experience boost-perfect for both new and returning players eager to power up and explore fresh challenges across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
Eternal Character boost
The Eternal Character Boost in Diablo 4’s Return to Sanctuary event allows players to instantly elevate one character in the Eternal Realm to level 50. This boost includes choosing from three powerful class-specific builds, receiving a full set of Legendary items, a completed skill tree, and unlocking all 160 Altars of Lilith, which provide significant stat bonuses. Additionally, players get 1 million Gold, 1,000 Obols, a Scroll of Amnesia, and various crafting materials. Those who own the Vessel of Hatred expansion can boost two characters instead of one. This boost is designed to help returning players quickly access endgame content without grinding, but it is only available for Eternal Realm characters and does not apply to Seasonal Realm characters, who must start fresh each season.

Starting Tuesday, Nov. 19, Diablo 4 is getting its first character boost feature, although it only applies to Eternal Realm (read: non-Seasonal) characters.
Everyone who owns Diablo 4 can boost one character to level 50, select from three different sets of Legendary Items, instantly unlock all Altars of Lilith, and pick up a host of materials like Gold and Obols. Players who own the Vessel of Hatred expansion can boost a second character this way.
While Blizzard refers to the Welcome Back Booster as a “limited-time” offering, there is no end date listed in their blog.
Return of the Red-Cloaked Horror
The “Return of the Red-Cloaked Horror” event in Diablo 4 marks the chilling comeback of this fearsome demon known as the Red-Cloaked Horror, the demon of crimson dismemberment. From November 19 to December 3, 2024, players must confront this icy menace as it prowls the blood-soaked plains of Helltide, replacing usual enemies and appearing in Infernal Hordes and dungeons. Defeating the Red-Cloaked Horror and its Blightfiend minions rewards players with increased Cinders, Burning Aether, and the legendary Gileon’s Brew-a powerful elixir granting a 20% damage boost, extra herb and crafting material drops, and a 15% experience gain for 30 minutes. This event offers a thrilling challenge with valuable rewards for those brave enough to face the frozen terror.
From Tuesday, Nov. 19, to Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Red-Cloaked Horror monster has a chance to spawn instead of a Hellborne in Helltide. It can also spawn randomly in dungeons and the Infernal Hordes mode.
The Red-Cloaked Horror can drop a variety of rewards, including the event-exclusive Gideon’s Brew, which is a powerful Elixir that increases damage done, XP earned, and materials acquired for 30 minutes.
Limited time Spiritborn trial
The limited time Spiritborn trial in Diablo 4 runs from December 19, 2024, to January 3, 2025, allowing players who do not own the Vessel of Hatred expansion to experience the new Spiritborn class up to level 25. This versatile warrior from the Nahantu jungle wields poisons, dark magic, and powerful combos, including unique Spirit Guardians that shape gameplay. Players can explore the class’s abilities and, if they purchase the expansion later, transfer their trial progress seamlessly. The trial is available on Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation, but not on Steam.

From Tuesday, Nov. 19, to Monday, Dec. 2, players who don’t own the Vessel of Hatred expansion can jump in and make a Spiritborn – Diablo 4’s sixth character class. While the trial will only be available to level up to level 25, character progress will carry over for those that eventually pick up the expansion.

Mother’s Blessing XP boost
The Mother’s Blessing XP boost in Diablo 4 is a special event bonus that grants players a significant increase in experience gained from defeating enemies, typically around 25% to 35%, depending on the event iteration. This boost stacks multiplicatively with other experience bonuses, making it an excellent opportunity to level up characters more quickly across all World Tiers and game modes. Alongside the XP boost, players also receive a substantial gold gain increase, enhancing their ability to upgrade gear and resources. The event is accessible to all players who log in during its duration, with an in-game icon indicating the active bonus, encouraging efficient farming and progression during the limited-time period.
