Step into the mysterious world of Elden Ring, where your choices shape the fate of the Lands Between-and unlock six distinct endings that reveal hidden truths and alternate destinies. Whether you’re on PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, mastering the intricate questlines and knowing when to wield powerful runes will guide you to every possible conclusion. Ready to become the ultimate Elden Lord or embrace the chaotic Frenzied Flame? This guide will show you how to uncover all endings, from the Age of Fracture to the enigmatic Age of Stars, in your journey through this sprawling epic.
Can you see all Elden Ring endings in one playthrough?
In Elden Ring, you cannot naturally see all endings in a single playthrough because the game only allows you to choose one ending when you finish the final boss. There are six endings in total, with three main distinct ones: the Elden Lord (default), Age of the Stars (Ranni’s questline), and Frenzied Flame (meeting the Three Fingers). However, it is possible to experience all three major endings in one playthrough by using save file backups or cloud saves. Before selecting an ending, you back up your save, choose one ending, then reload the backup to choose another ending, repeating this process to view all endings without starting a new playthrough. This method is commonly referred to as “save scumming” and is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms.
It’s not possible to see all six of Elden Ring’s endings with a single playthrough, unless you’re exploiting cloud saves or local backups. The good news is that if you have the patience and the time, experiencing Elden Ring’s endings for yourself can be simple and straightforward, as long as you’re up for the challenge. (And as long as you don’t lock yourself into the Frenzied Flame ending path – see below – that’s really hard to get yourself out of.)
Four of the game’s endings (the four “Elden Lord” endings) are nearly identical, so if you’ve seen one of them, you can watch the remaining three on YouTube and get the gist. The two other endings (“Age of the Stars” and “Lord of Frenzied Flame”) offer a very different take on the conclusion of Elden Ring’s story with dramatically different cutscenes.
Remember, you can use new game plus to start over with (most) of your items and equipment to help speed up the process.

How to get the Elden Lord: Age of Fracture ending
To get the Elden Lord: Age of Fracture ending in Elden Ring, simply follow the main story and defeat the final bosses, Radagon and the Elden Beast. After the battle, approach the remains of Fractured Marika and choose the option to “Mend the Elden Ring.” This is the default ending where the Tarnished restores the Elden Ring and begins a new age as the Elden Lord. No special side quests or additional items are required for this ending, making it the most straightforward way to conclude the game.
Unlocks the Elden Lord Trophy/Achievement
The simplest and most straightforward of Elden Ring’s endings is the Age of Fracture, effectively the default ending of the game. You simply need to defeat the game’s final bosses, Radagon and the Elden Beast. Afterward, touch the Fractured Marika remains and select “Mend the Elden Ring” to get the Age of Fracture ending. By doing so, you will restore the Elden Ring and begin a new age as the Elden Lord. Kudos!

How to get the Elden Lord: Age of Duskborn ending
To get the Elden Lord: Age of Duskborn ending in Elden Ring, you must complete Fia’s questline, which involves helping her and ultimately defeating the dragon Lichdragon Fortissax in the Deeproot Depths to obtain the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince. After defeating the final bosses Radagon and the Elden Beast, instead of repairing the Elden Ring normally, choose to use the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince on Fractured Marika’s body. This will usher in the Age of the Duskborn, a new era where death is restored to the Lands Between, allowing those who live in death to remain without persecution, and the Tarnished becomes Elden Lord under this darker order.
Unlocks the Elden Lord Trophy/Achievement
Reaching the Age of Duskborn ending requires completing Fia’s questline, a relatively lengthy journey that concludes with you defeating the Lichdragon Fortissax and acquiring the Mending Rune of the Death-Prince.
To unlock this variation on the default ending, defeat the game’s final bosses, Radagon and the Elden Beast. Afterward, touch the Fractured Marika remains and choose the “Use Mending Rune of the Death-Prince” option to get the Age of Duskborn ending. By doing so, you will restore the Elden Ring and begin a new age as the Elden Lord, albeit with a darker twist, as the Lands Between become enveloped in fog, ridding the world of immortal beings.

How to get the Elden Lord: Age of Order ending
To get the Elden Lord: Age of Order ending in Elden Ring, you must complete the questline involving Brother Corhyn and Goldmask. This includes speaking to Brother Corhyn multiple times at various locations such as the Roundtable Hold, Altus Plateau, Leyndell, and the Mountaintops of the Giants, as well as finding Goldmask and assisting them. You will need to obtain the Golden Order Principia and use the Law of Regression incantation on the statue of Radagon in Leyndell (requiring at least 37 Intelligence). After defeating the final boss, instead of mending the Elden Ring normally, choose to use the Mending Rune of Perfect Order, which you acquire from Goldmask’s body after the Erdtree burns and Leyndell turns to ash. This ending represents a restoration of the Elden Ring with a perfected Golden Order, bringing a new age of stability to the Lands Between.
Unlocks the Elden Lord Trophy/Achievement
Reaching the Age of Order ending requires completing Brother Corhyn and Goldmask’s questline. After you’ve burned the Erdtree and spoken to Goldmask in the Capital of Ash, he’ll grant you the Mending Rune of Perfect Order.
To unlock this variation on the default ending, defeat the game’s final bosses, Radagon and the Elden Beast. Afterward, touch the Fractured Marika remains and choose the “Use Mending Rune of Perfect Order” option to get the Age of Order ending. By doing so, you will restore the Elden Ring and begin a new age as the Elden Lord, with a “perfect” implementation of the Golden Order. Or, so they say.

How to get the Elden Lord: Blessing of Despair ending
To get the Elden Lord: Blessing of Despair ending in Elden Ring, you must complete the Dung Eater’s questline by collecting and giving him five Seedbed Curses. This will reward you with the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse. After defeating the final bosses, Radagon and the Elden Beast, choose to use this Mending Rune on Fractured Marika instead of the default option. This dark ending sees the Tarnished become Elden Lord while the Lands Between is cursed with a spreading despair that afflicts all future generations.
Unlocks the Elden Lord Trophy/Achievement
Reaching the Blessing of Despair ending requires completing the Dung Eater’s questline. After feeding the Dung Eater five Seedbed Curses, you’ll earn the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse.
To unlock this (extremely dark) variation on the default ending, defeat the game’s final bosses, Radagon and the Elden Beast. Afterward, touch the Fractured Marika remains and choose the “Use Mending Rune of the Fell Curse” option to get the Blessing of Despair ending. By doing so, you will restore the Elden Ring and begin a new age as the Elden Lord, only every living thing is cursed and will be for generations to come. Fun!

How to get the Age of the Stars ending
To get the Age of the Stars ending in Elden Ring, you must complete Ranni the Witch’s entire questline. This involves progressing through her story by exploring the Three Sisters area, defeating key bosses like Starscourge Radahn and Astel, and collecting important items such as the Dark Moon Ring. After defeating the final boss, instead of mending the Elden Ring, summon Ranni using the blue summon sign near Marika’s remains. This triggers the Age of the Stars ending, where Ranni becomes the new empyrean goddess and takes the Tarnished on a thousand-year journey, marking the beginning of a new era.
Unlocks the Age of the Stars Trophy/Achievement
Reaching the Age of the Stars ending requires completing Ranni’s questline – one of the most involved and elaborate series of quests in Elden Ring.
To unlock this unique ending, after completing Ranni’s full quest, defeat the game’s final bosses, Radagon and the Elden Beast. Afterward, you’ll see Ranni’s blue summon sign on the ground. Summon Ranni, and she’ll undo the Golden Order and take the Tarnished as her consort, the Elden Lord. (You will not mend the Elden Ring, but you will get a cool cutscene.)
Note that certain actions in Seluvis’s questline can prevent you from achieving this ending.

How to get the Lord of Frenzied Flame ending
To get the Lord of Frenzied Flame ending in Elden Ring, first progress to Leyndell, Royal Capital, and enter the sewers beneath it after the city has been transformed. Navigate through the sewers to reach the Cathedral of the Forsaken and defeat the boss Mohg, the Omen. Behind Mohg, find and follow a secret path down a platforming section until you reach a red door. Before interacting with the door, unequip all your gear and armor. Interacting with this door will grant you the Frenzied Flame, marking you for this ending. After defeating the final boss, Elden Beast, interact with the stone statue to trigger the Lord of Frenzied Flame ending, where your character embraces the chaotic flame and becomes the Lord of Frenzied Flame, an ending that locks you out of other endings unless reversed by a special item later in the game.
Unlocks the Lord of Frenzied Flame Trophy/Achievement
Reaching the Lord of Frenzied Flame ending requires meeting with the Three Fingers beneath the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds in Leyndell, Royal Capital. There, you will inherit the Frenzied Flame and effectively lock yourself out of every other ending in the game.
To unlock this unique ending, after inheriting the Frenzied Flame, defeat the game’s final bosses, Radagon and the Elden Beast. Afterward, touch the Fractured Marika remains and choose “Become the Lord of Frenzied Flame.” This choice will unleash the game’s other extremely dark ending, as your lordship will burn the Erdtree, the world, and everyone in it.

How to undo the Frenzied Flame affliction
To undo the Frenzied Flame affliction in Elden Ring, players must first complete Millicent’s questline, which ultimately grants the Unalloyed Gold Needle. After defeating Malenia, Blade of Miquella, at the base of the Haligtree, the needle can be transformed into Miquella’s Needle by using it on a scarlet blossom in her boss room. The final step is to travel to the arena of Dragonlord Placidusax in Crumbling Farum Azula and use Miquella’s Needle on yourself while in the arena. Doing so will reverse the Frenzied Flame branding, freeing you from the associated ending lock and allowing access to other endings in the game.
If you either stumbled upon the Three Fingers unknowingly – or curiosity got the better of you – you can reverse your inheritance of the Frenzied Flame. You’ll need to complete Millicent’s questline to acquire the Unalloyed Gold Needle.
You’ll then need to defeat Malenia, Blade of Miquella at the base of the Haligtree and use the Unalloyed Gold Needle on the scarlet blossom in her boss room to receive Miquella’s Needle.
Then you’ll need to head to Dragonlord Placidusax’s arena at Crumbling Farum Azula. While in the arena (described as “the heart of the storm beyond time”), you can use the needle to reverse the Three Fingers’ Frenzied Flame. Don’t worry, you don’t actually need to defeat Placidusax to undo the Frenzied Flame affliction, you just need to use the needle on yourself while you’re there.
What secret tricks can help me unlock all Elden Ring endings in one playthrough
To unlock all Elden Ring endings in one playthrough, the key secret trick is to use save scumming at the very end of the game. After defeating the final boss, save your game near the Site of Grace where you can choose an ending. Select an ending, watch the cutscene, then quit the game without starting a New Game Plus. Next, restore your save from the cloud or backup, and choose a different ending. Repeat this process to see all major endings without replaying the entire game multiple times.
Additionally, progress through all major NPC questlines that unlock the key items required for different endings-such as Ranni’s, Fia’s, Millicent’s, and the Dung Eater’s quests-to have all ending options available at the final choice. For the Frenzied Flame ending, you must unlock the secret sewer path late in the game and obtain Miquella’s Needle to undo this ending if desired, allowing you to explore other endings afterward.
This method lets you efficiently experience all three main trophy-linked endings (Elden Lord, Age of the Stars, and Lord of Frenzied Flame) plus variants in a single playthrough by carefully saving and restoring your game at the critical moment.
How can I use save backups to unlock all endings in one run
To use save backups to unlock all Elden Ring endings in one run, follow these steps:
-
Reach the final boss and defeat it, then save your game at the Site of Grace near Marika where you choose your ending.
-
Before selecting any ending, create a backup of your save file:
-
On PC, locate your save files (usually in the game’s save folder), and copy or zip the entire save folder to a safe location.
-
On consoles like PlayStation, upload your save data to the cloud or copy it to a USB stick via the system’s save data management settings.
-
On Xbox, use cloud saves or external backup methods if available.
-
-
Choose one ending and watch the cutscene. After the ending finishes, do not start New Game Plus; instead, quit the game completely.
-
Restore your backup save by replacing the current save with your backed-up file:
-
On PC, overwrite the current save folder with your backup.
-
On PlayStation, download the save from the cloud or USB.
-
On Xbox, restore the save similarly if possible.
-
-
Load the game again and choose a different ending. Repeat this process for each ending you want to see in the same playthrough.
Additional tips:
-
Complete all major NPC questlines (e.g., Ranni’s, Millicent’s) before the final boss to unlock all ending options.
-
If you triggered the Frenzied Flame ending early, use the Nicholas’ Needle item from Millicent’s quest to undo it and access other endings.
-
This method is often called “save scumming” and allows you to experience all endings without multiple full playthroughs.
By carefully backing up and restoring your save at the final choice, you can unlock and view all Elden Ring endings in a single run efficiently.
