Love is in the air across Eorzea as Valentione’s Day 2023 returns, bringing heartfelt quests, charming cosmetics, and limited-time rewards from Square Enix’s sweetest seasonal celebration.
As per usual with these limited-time events, you need to be at least level 15 and have completed the main scenario quest “It’s Probably Pirates.”
You can start the quest by talking to Lisette de Valentione at Mhn Khetto’s Amphitheater in Old Gridania. We’ve marked the location below:
Once you complete the quest, which shouldn’t take more than a few minutes, you’ll get a coffer that rewards you with the hat, top, bottom, and shoes for the Valentione Emissary set.
To answer a few questions:
- The set is dyeable.
- Viera cannot wear the hats. 🙁
- Both outfits are gender-locked and we do not know if they’ll ever get the gender restriction removed. Outfits have been getting gender restrictions removed over patches, and the Valentione set from 2020 recently had its restriction removed, so it’s not impossible.
- You can get both the male and female set, but you only get one for free. The other set will cost a few thousand gil.
- The set does go into your armoire.
To get the “Eat Chocolate” emote (Ballroom Etiquette – Valentione’s Dangers), Valentione’s Heart Desk furnishing, and the other gender’s set of clothes, you just need to buy it from the House Valentione Maid NPC we marked below.
If you love fashion, we recommend grabbing both sets of clothes in the event that you fantasia to the opposite gender or if the clothes one day does become un-gender-locked. The clothes, emote, and furnishing items will all become unavailable after the event ends, and you’ll only be able to purchase them for real money through the online shop in 2024, so you might as well grab them while they’re free now.
FFXIV Valentione’s Day 2024 event changes and rewards
FFXIV Valentione’s Day 2024 featured a shorter, simpler questline compared to 2023’s multi-trial instance and Cutie Core currency system.
Event Dates
The event ran from February 7 to February 21, 2024, giving players two weeks to participate. It required level 15+ characters able to access Old Gridania.
Key Changes
Unlike 2023’s matchmaking-based instance with moogle mazes and card games, 2024 focused on a solo-friendly story questline (“The Symbol of Love” followed by “Emilie’s Surprise”) emphasizing narrative about Astrid and Emilie. No complex trials or event currency like Cutie Cores were needed; rewards came directly from quests and a nearby vendor. Previous years’ items returned via the House Valentione Maid outside Mih Khetto’s Amphitheater.

Additional vendor items included chocolates (White/Heart), EXP buffs, fireworks (Prismatic Heart Left/Right), and past event gear. All were alt-friendly and armory-eligible.
FFXIV Valentione’s Day 2024 full quest walkthrough
FFXIV’s Valentione’s Day 2024 event featured a simple two-quest chain in Old Gridania, focused on romance and emotes, accessible to level 15+ players.
Requirements
Players need level 15 and access to Old Gridania (complete “It’s Probably Pirates” MSQ if starting from other cities). Start at Astrid in Mih Khetto’s Amphitheater (X:10.2, Y:9.4).
Quest 1: The Symbol of Love

Speak to Astrid to accept the quest.

Find and talk to Emilie east of the Leatherworkers’ Guild (X:12.3, Y:9.6); escort her back.

Report to Astrid at the amphitheater to finish and unlock the Love Heart emote (/loveheart).
