Genshin Impact Battle Pass Gnostic Hymn Rewards and Guide

Guides

Genshin Impact’s Battle Pass, the Gnostic Hymn, offers players a steady stream of rewards-but understanding how its tiers, levels, and premium bonuses work can make the difference between casual gains and serious loot.

How the Genshin Impact battle pass works

The Genshin Impact Battle Pass, known as the Gnostic Hymn, offers players seasonal tasks that grant experience points when completed, progressing through levels that provide rewards such as Mora, Hero’s Wit, Fragile Resin, and weapon billets. Each season lasts about six weeks, aligning with the game’s version updates. Players can access a free tier, called the Sojourner’s Battle Pass, or purchase the premium Gnostic Hymn for extra materials, exclusive weapons, and a larger supply of in-game items. Progress mainly comes from completing daily commissions, weekly boss fights, and special missions tied to events.

Each quest you complete will reward a set amount of Battle Pass EXP, and it takes 1,000 BP EXP to go up one level. The quests will require you to do things like fight a Trounce Domain bosses three times or log in and do your daily four Commissions. Most active players will level up their Battle Pass just by playing normally, but you can only earn 10,000 BP EXP a week. The pass maxes out at 50 levels.

Battle Passes typically stick around for about six weeks before they refresh with the launch of a patch.

Sojourner’s Battle Pass (free) versus Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass (paid)

Sojourner’s Battle Pass is free and offers a modest selection of rewards like talent books, Hero’s Wit, and weapon enhancement materials, giving casual players steady progress without spending money. The Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass, meanwhile, is a paid upgrade that adds premium rewards such as larger Mora bundles, Fragile Resin, and exclusive four-star weapons. Players also gain cosmetic namecards and extra experience materials, making it a good choice for those who play regularly and want to speed up their character development.

There are two versions of the Battle Pass. The Sojourner’s Battle Pass is free and it gives rewards like Mora, Adventurer’s Experience, Mystic Enchantment Ores, or Sanctifying Unction (materials to give artifacts EXP), depending on which material you pick. Every 10 levels of the Sojourner’s Battle Pass, you’ll be rewarded with an Acquaint Fate.

The Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass costs $9.99 and gives more Mora, Hero’s Wit, Mystic Enchantment Ores, or Sanctifying Essence, in addition to the items from the Sojourner’s Battle Pass. It also gives you a Sanctifying Elixir so you can make custom artifacts, as well as materials for upgrading talents (skills). There’s also a bounty box at level 30 that allows you to pick a four-star weapon from an exclusive set. Every 10 levels of the Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass, you’ll be rewarded with Intertwined Fates.

For $19.99, you can buy the Gnostic Chorus. This is the same as the Gnostic Hymn Battle Pass, but instead of starting at level 1 of the Battle Pass, you’ll start on level 10. (If you buy it after you’ve leveled up your Sojourner’s Battle Pass, you’ll just add 10 levels to your existing level.) It also includes a special name-card style, furniture-blueprint, and five Fragile Resin (for recovering stamina). Gnostic Chorus is discounted if you already own Gnostic Hymn.

Notably, every 10 levels, the Battle Pass gives Fates to use on gacha wishes. The free Battle Pass rewards Acquaint Fates and Gnostic Hymn rewards Intertwined Fates.

Upgrading your Battle Pass to the Gnostic Hymn is only worth it if you complete it. We recommend not purchasing the upgrade until you hit rank 50, as you’ll get all the rewards retroactively anyway.

Genshin Impact Battle Pass weapons

Genshin Impact’s Battle Pass offers a selection of exclusive five-star-quality weapons known as the “BP weapons,” available through the Gnostic Hymn tier. Players can choose one weapon per pass from options that cover all main weapon types, including swords, bows, catalysts, claymores, and polearms. Each features strong secondary stats and versatile passive effects, making them useful for different character builds. Popular choices like the Serpent Spine or The Black Sword remain highly valued for their balanced performance and accessibility compared to standard gacha weapons.

The paid Battle Pass rewards a box called the BP Bounty, which allows you to pick one of the 10 following weapons:

  • The Black Sword (sword)
  • Serpent Spine (claymore)
  • Solar Pearl (catalyst)
  • The Viridescent Hunt (bow)
  • Deathmatch (polearm)
  • Wolf-Fang (sword)
  • Talking Stick (claymore)
  • Sacrificial Jade (catalyst)
  • Scion of the Blazing Sun (bow)
  • Ballad of the Fjords (polearm)

It’s hard to rank the weapons, but Serpent Spine and Wolf-Fang are commonly seen as the “best” and The Viridescent Hunt and Talking Stick are regarded as the worst of these weapons – but you should just grab whatever you need from the BP Bounty that suits your characters’ needs.

We recommend looking up individual build guides for your favorite characters on Keqing Mains and seeing what they recommend. For example, if you’re a Kinich main, you may want to opt to build the Earth Shaker, a Natlan craftable weapon, over picking (or dishing out the $10 for) the Serpent’s Spine. However, if you’re maining Arataki Itto and you don’t have his dedicated five-star weapon, the Serpent’s Spine is his second best choice, making it a worthwhile pick.

Is Gnostic Hymn worth buying in 2026

Gnostic Hymn is still generally considered worth buying in 2026 if you play regularly and value faster account progression more than raw Primogem count.

When it is worth it

  • You log in most days and reliably reach at least level 30-50 on the Battle Pass each patch; the value comes from actually finishing it.โ€‹

  • You need Mora, Hero’s Wit, and weapon EXP more than anything else; Gnostic Hymn bundles millions of Mora and large amounts of EXP and ores behind one fixed price.

  • You want a strong 4-star weapon; the BP weapons are still very solid options and getting to choose one at level 30 is a big part of the pass’s value.

When it is not worth it

  • You mainly care about Primogems per dollar; Blessing of the Welkin Moon still gives more pulls for less money than Gnostic Hymn.โ€‹

  • You are a very casual player who often doesn’t finish the pass; if you end a season at low BP level, you miss much of the value.โ€‹

  • Gnostic Chorus (the more expensive tier) is still widely considered poor value; it costs roughly double for some cosmetics, a few Fragile Resin, and instant levels.

Practical buying strategy in 2026

  • Play the patch first and see where your BP level ends up; only buy near the end (or once you’re sure you’ll hit 50) so you know you’re getting all rewards retroactively.โ€‹

  • If you consistently cap the pass and feel resource-starved, Gnostic Hymn remains one of the most efficient single purchases; if you’re only after Primogems, prioritize Welkin instead.

Gnostic Chorus vs Gnostic Hymn which is better

Gnostic Hymn is better for most players; Gnostic Chorus is mainly a luxury upgrade that rarely makes sense unless you care a lot about cosmetics or are very short on time.โ€‹

Core differences

  • Price: Gnostic Chorus costs roughly about double Hymn’s price (or a smaller surcharge if you upgrade after buying Hymn), but the core BP rewards (mats, weapon, etc.) are identical between them.

  • Extra from Chorus: +10 BP levels instantly, an exclusive namecard, a limited furnishing blueprint, 5 Fragile Resin, and a bit of extra value like Dust of Enlightenment in recent versions.โ€‹

  • Progress behavior: Both let you retro-claim all premium rewards for levels you’ve already reached; Chorus just pushes you 10 levels further along that same track.

Which is “better” in value

  • Gnostic Hymn: Much higher value per dollar, giving all the important stuff (4-star weapon choice, Mora, EXP, talent books) for the lower price.โ€‹

  • Gnostic Chorus: Community math and opinions consistently say it’s not cost-efficient; you pay a big premium for 10 levels, 5 Fragile Resin (about a day and a half of Resin), and cosmetics.โ€‹

  • Common player pattern: Many players buy Hymn every patch and skip Chorus entirely, saying they easily hit BP 50 without paying extra.

When Gnostic Chorus might make sense

  • You started the patch late or missed a lot of days and are far from level 50, but you really want all the BP rewards and don’t mind paying more for the catch-up.โ€‹

  • You specifically want the seasonal namecard and housing furniture, collect every cosmetic, and are fine paying mostly for those extras.โ€‹โ€‹

If you play regularly and don’t care much about cosmetics, Gnostic Hymn is the better choice; if you’re a collector or badly behind on BP levels this patch, Gnostic Chorus can be a situational splurge.
