Igoshon Shrine Guide Location and Walkthrough for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Guides

Hidden high above Lanayru, the Igoshon Shrine challenges players with puzzles built around flowing water and shifting platforms. This guide breaks down how to reach the shrine and how to solve each trick inside to claim its reward.

Igoshon Shrine location

Igoshon Shrine is found in the Lanayru Great Spring region, on Wellspring Island high above Zora’s Domain. To reach it, players must follow the floating islands path leading from the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, gliding and using Zonai devices to cross gaps between platforms. The shrine sits on a large island with flowing water channels and serves as the starting point for a puzzle that introduces the mechanics of water orbs and buoyancy.

Igoshon Shrine is in the Lanayru Great Spring Sky region, located on Wellspring Island. Its coordinates are (3480, 0664, 1326). You can check out our full Wellspring Island walkthrough as well.

Igoshon Shrine walkthrough

Inside Igoshon Shrine, use the floating Zonai platforms to cross the water currents while keeping your balance on moving surfaces. Begin by riding a platform downstream to reach the switch that adjusts the water flow. Then, attach a Zonai sphere to a platform to lift it and access the higher ledge. For the final area, combine platforms creatively to build a stable bridge to the altar and collect the Light of Blessing before leaving the shrine.

The Igoshon Shrine requires you to navigate its many levels by floating inside giant orbs of water. Once you hop in an orb, you’ll be suspended in the water inside, and can use it to float along until the orb reaches its destination and combusts.

1. After you enter the shrine, step onto the small dais between two torches at the far side of the room.

2. The dais generates an orb of water, which will carry you up to the next level.

3. Look to the left. You’ll see a new orb. To the right of that orb, watch for a chest repeatedly falling from the ceiling. Use Ultrahand to move the orb slightly to the right to catch the chest, then bring the orb (and the chest) closer so you can retrieve it.

4. After the orb combusts, open the chest to get a large Zonai charge.

5. After you’ve opened the chest, turn your attention to the right side of the platform, where orbs of water slowly drop from the ceiling to splash apart on the ground.

6. Equip the Recall ability and use it on the orb just before it hits the ground, and hop in as it begins to ascend.

7. You’ll now be on the third level of Igoshon Shrine, which consists of two platforms separated by a large gap. Step in front of the water orb’s path as it leaves the generator, and it will whisk you across the gap. Be sure to hop out when the orb starts flashing green, as that’s a sign it’s about to break up.

8. On the new area, use Ultrahand to pick up the large block, and set it directly in the path of the next orb.

9. Then use Ultrahand to pick up the flat slab. Manipulate the slab so it’s also in the path of the orb, and leans against the block, like a ramp.

How to reach Wellspring Island from Upland Zorana Skyview Tower

Wellspring Island lies east of Upland Zorana Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, accessible during the Sidon of the Zora main quest.

Starting from Tower

Launch from Upland Zorana Skyview Tower and glide eastward toward the fish-shaped sky island visible on your map. Look for a prominent waterfall (“watery bridge”) pouring from its front-this marks the entry to Wellspring Island.

Climbing the Waterfalls

Equip Zora Armor (upgraded if possible for better waterfall swimming) and dive into the large waterfall at the base. Swim upward against the current; low gravity on sky islands lets you leap high between sequential waterfalls, progressing northward island by island.

Key Landmarks

  • Sidon appears ahead; speak to him, then split paths.

  • Glide via large bubbles from a machine to the next platform.

  • Clear sludge with a Zonai water spout (Ultrahand it into place) to reveal paths and chests.

  • Activate Igoshon Shrine (3480, 0667, 1325) midway for a fast-travel point.

Igoshon Shrine walkthrough and puzzles

Igoshon Shrine Puzzle Basics
The Igoshon Shrine, titled “Orbs of Water,” challenges players to navigate using floating water orbs that carry Link across gaps and upward. These orbs burst after reaching their path’s end, so time exits carefully by gliding or jumping when they flash.

First Ascent
Enter the shrine and step onto the central platform between torches to spawn a water orb. Ride it upward to the next level, then glide to safety.

Optional Chest
On the upper platform, look left to a bubble machine and a tube dropping a chest repeatedly. Use Ultrahand on a stationary water orb to catch the chest mid-fall, then pull both to your platform before the orb pops. Open it for a Large Zonai Charge.

Reverse Orb Crossing
Head right to descending water orbs. Wait for one near the ground, apply Recall to reverse its path, and jump inside to ascend. Transfer to the horizontal orb crossing the gap, exiting before it bursts.

Final Ramp Puzzle
In the last area, Ultrahand the sliding block into the incoming orb’s path. Attach a nearby flat plank to the block at an upward angle to form a ramp. Ride the next orb up the ramp, glide or dash to the altar, and claim your Light of Blessing.
