Few pieces of horse gear in Tears of the Kingdom are as useful as the Towing Harness. With it, your steed can haul carts, transport goods, and even carry precious materials across Hyrule. Here’s how to find it and make the most of this versatile upgrade.
Our Tears of the Kingdom Towing Harness guide will tell you how to unlock and equip the new Towing Harness so you can attach a wagon (or anything else) to your horse.
Earn three Pony Points
Complete three side adventures with your horse to earn three Pony Points. These tasks appear on the in-game map after registering your horse at a stable. Finish them to build points toward the Towing Harness upgrade.
Pony Points are part of a new loyalty program at Tears of the Kingdom‘s stables. You’ll earn a Pony Point the first time you visit a stable (and speak to the owner) for registering a horse, or for paying for a bed.

Those points can be redeemed for rewards at the Pony Points Ledger book on the right side of the check-in desk as you walk in.
Equipping the towing harness
After obtaining the Towing Harness, approach your registered horse and interact with it at a stable. Select “Customize Harness” from the menu to equip the new gear. The harness will appear on your horse’s back, allowing you to attach wagons or other towable objects. Once equipped, you can use it to transport materials, passengers, or devices across Hyrule with greater convenience.

Once you collect three Pony Points, you’ll earn the Towing Harness. You can get three Pony Points for capturing a horse and registering it at a new stable, and then spending the night there.
The Towing Harness lets you attach things to your horse with Ultrahand. This allows you to build wagons for towing loads (or wayward Koroks) long distances. (Side note: horses really don’t like it when you attach things like flame emitters.)
To equip the Towing Harness, visit the window at the stable, choose customize horse, change equipment, then select the Towing Harness.

Where are stables to earn Pony Points fastest
To earn Pony Points fastest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, focus on repeatable actions like renting beds or registering wild horses at stables, as first visits to all stables provide a one-time point each but are spread across Hyrule.โ
Quickest Farming Method
Renting a standard bed (20 Rupees) or Malanya bed (once unlocked, 50 Rupees) at any single stable awards 1 Pony Point per night slept, without using Sleepover Tickets. This cycles quickly-about 30 seconds per cycle including dialogue-allowing 3 points for the Towing Harness in roughly 90 seconds if you have funds.โ
Optimal Stable Locations
Highland Stable (coordinates 0913, -2116, 0019) stands out for efficiency: it’s central on the Great Sky Island descent path, near wild horses for registration points, and hosts the repeatable Epona’s Song side adventure (ocarina minigame) for extra points without sleeping. New Serenne Stable (0054, 1113, 0021) and South Akkala Stable (3571, 1860, 0051) are also horse-rich for quick registrations.โ
Combined Strategy
Visit 3-5 nearby stables first (e.g., Lookout Landing, Woodland, Highland) for 1 point each via owner talks, then farm beds or horses at one spot. Registering wild horses (20 Rupees each) adds points without travel, beating pure sleeping if horses are abundant.โ
Best route to visit all Tears of the Kingdom stables quickly
There are 15 full stables plus a few mini-stables in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, each granting 1 Pony Point on first visit by speaking to the owner. The fastest route prioritizes unlocking nearby shrines for fast travel, paragliding short gaps, and horse travel on roads while minimizing backtracking.โ
