When equipped, the Vah Ruta Divine Helm will provide you with swim speed up and a base defense of two. The Vah Ruta Divine Helm can be upgraded by visiting the Great Fairy Fountain locations and using gems, Zonaite, and dazzlefruit. You can technically get it via the use of amiibo, but you can also find it in-game in Hyrule. Here’s how.
Where to find the Vah Ruta Divine Helm in Tears of the Kingdom
Head to Zora’s Domain and fast travel to Mogawak Shrine. Jump down the waterfall to the southwest, staying close to the cliff, then enter the Cave Under Zora’s Domain. Glide to the back waterfall, pass through it, and open the chest for the Vah Ruta Divine Helm.
The Vah Ruta Divine Helm can be found behind the waterfall inside the Cave under Zora’s Domain at the coordinates (3336, 0545, 0019).
First, you’ll need to make your way to Zora’s Domain, and go behind the waterfall southwest of the Mogawak Shrine. Enter the cave to spot another waterfall directly ahead of you. Go through the waterfall, and open the chest inside to retrieve the Vah Ruta Divine Helm.
Cave under Zora’s Domain location
The cave beneath Zora’s Domain can be reached through the waterway behind the throne room. Enter the passage and swim through the tunnel until you reach an open chamber filled with luminous stones and pools. The Vah Ruta Divine Helm rests inside a treasure chest near the back of this cave. Equipping it grants the Swim Speed Up effect, helping you move faster through water while exploring Zora’s Domain and nearby regions.
The Cave under Zora’s Domain can be found behind the waterfall southwest of the Mogawak Shrine at the coordinates (3241, 0374, 0078). You can either swim to the waterfall and hug the cliff, or glide in from the bridge above to enter the cave.
Vah Ruta Divine Helm upgrade cost
Upgrading the Vah Ruta Divine Helm increases its defense and enhances its Swim Speed Up bonus. Each upgrade requires specific materials that match the helms of the other Divine Beasts, such as ancient materials, precious stones, and monster parts obtained from water-based creatures. To reach the Cave Under Zora’s Domain in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, fast travel to Mogawak Shrine near Zora’s Domain for convenience.
Step-by-Step Directions
Head to the Great Zora Bridge at the southern edge of Zora’s Domain. Unequip any Zora Armor to avoid swimming upward involuntarily.
Jump or glide off the bridge into the water below and swim directly through the large waterfall cascading underneath it (coordinates around 3254, 0381, 0077 mark the entrance).
Inside the Cave
Avoid the central chasm (Chasm Under Zora’s Domain). Glide or swim across to the opposite waterfall, then pass behind it to access the Vah Ruta Divine Helm chest. Equip Zora Armor only if needed to swim up smaller falls for optional items like the Bubbulfrog.
