Whether you’re snapping photos from a safe distance or gearing up for battle, this guide reveals the best camps and hotspots to track down these foes and claim your Primogems with ease.

Once you have one of each color sample (blue, brown, yellow, red, and purple), you can submit your photos to Lepine-Pauline in Fontaine for rewards. However, the subject matter that you can photograph changes each day, and you only have 10 film to use per day.

Once the day ends at 4 a.m. EDT, the subject matter will change and you will not be able to go back and take photos of old subjects.

Below, we explain where to find the subjects for day 4 (staff-wielding opponents) of the Genshin Impact “Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log” event.

Where to find ’Staff-Wielding Opponents’ in Genshin Impact

You can find staff-wielding opponents in various locations across Teyvat in Genshin Impact, making it easier to complete the Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log event. Some of the best spots include the Guyun Stone Forest in Liyue, where numerous Abyss Mages, Samachurls, and Hilichurls wield staffs. Near Mondstadt, camps east of the city and the Cecilia Domain host several Hilichurl Fighters, Berserkers, and Samachurls. Around the entrance to Dragonspine and the Teleport Waypoint east of Wolvendom, you can also find multiple staff-wielding foes. Using the Adventurer’s Handbook to track Abyss Mages and Samachurls is recommended, as they always wield staffs and help quickly locate targets for photographing.

There are tons of enemies that carry staffs, but notably Hilichurl Fighters, Hilichurl Guards, Hilichurl Berserkers, and Samachurls are the easiest to find. There are ton in the Guyun Stone Forest (the area the Retracing Bolide and Archaic Petra artifact domain is in), so you can head there and snap an easy 10 photos of the different enemies there.

How to get more sample colors in the ’Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log’ event

To get more sample colors in the “Graph Adversarial Technology Experiment Log” event during the Staff-Wielding Opponent day in Genshin Impact, you need to take pictures of up to 10 different staff-wielding enemies each day. Since the samples you receive from each photo are random, increasing your sample variety requires capturing photos of a diverse range of staff-wielding opponents across Teyvat. Key locations like the Guyun Stone Forest in Liyue, the area east of Mondstadt City, and near the entrance to Dragonspine are rich with these enemies, including Abyss Mages, Samachurls, and Hilichurls. Using the Adventurer’s Handbook to track Samachurls is especially effective because they always wield staffs. Additionally, trading samples with friends can help you complete your collection faster by exchanging colors you lack. Prioritize exploring multiple locations and using sample trading to maximize the variety of samples you gather for the event rewards.

Unfortunately, it appears to be random. Though we did get a ton of brown samples from taking photos of Hilichurls, we got at least enough samples of the other colors to be able to turn in the samples once for rewards.

Where are the best spots to find staff-wielding enemies in Genshin Impact

The best spots to find staff-wielding enemies in Genshin Impact include:

  • Mondstadt: The camp east of Mondstadt City, where you can find multiple Hilichurl Fighters and Berserkers wielding staffs or clubs. Cecilia Domain also has several staff-wielding opponents like Anemo Samachurls and Hilichurl Guards.

  • Guyun Stone Forest (Liyue): This location features several Abyss Mages and a large Hilichurl camp with staff-wielding enemies. The eastern ruins campsite in Guyun Stone Forest is especially rich with six staff-wielding opponents, making it an efficient spot for photography or combat.

  • Dadaupa Gorge (Mondstadt): Known for Hilichurl Berserkers and Fighters in their campsites, each with multiple staff-wielding enemies. Teleport waypoints nearby make it easy to access these camps.

  • Stormterror’s Lair: This area is abundant with Samachurls, who wield staffs, allowing you to easily gather multiple photos or engage in battles with staff-wielding foes.

  • Sumeru and Fontaine: These regions also have Abyss Mages and other staff-wielding opponents scattered across various locations, including mountainous areas and ruins.

Using the Adventurer’s Handbook to track Abyss Mages is particularly effective since they always wield staffs, and defeating them reveals new locations on the map for further hunting.

For safe photography, it is recommended to use shield characters like Zhongli or Diona to avoid alerting enemies while taking pictures.

Which region has the most staff-wielding Abyss Mages to farm quickly

The region with the most staff-wielding Abyss Mages for quick farming in Genshin Impact is Liyue, which has 24 Abyss Mages scattered across its terrain, more than any other region. However, farming in Liyue can take longer due to its rocky and spread-out terrain.

For a faster and more convenient farming experience, Mondstadt is recommended because its Abyss Mages are closer to teleport waypoints and easier to reach quickly, with 13 Abyss Mages available for farming.

There are also efficient farming routes designed to cover many Abyss Mages in about 7 minutes, mainly focusing on Mondstadt and nearby areas, which can help gather materials like Dead Ley Line Branches rapidly.

In summary:

  • Liyue: Most Abyss Mages (24), but slower to farm due to terrain.

  • Mondstadt: Fewer Abyss Mages (13), but faster and more convenient farming routes.

Choosing between these depends on whether you prioritize quantity or farming speed and convenience.
