Ready your shield and prepare to hunt down every glowing red wolf to claim the rewards that lie beneath their stone facades.

In each chapter of Doom: The Dark Ages, there are many secrets to discover. Maps may hide little toys in underground tunnels or Nightmare skins in platforms that seem impossible to reach. Finding all of them is not mandatory, but some rewards – like Gold, Rubies and, Wraithsones – are essential if you plan on upgrading your weapons.

Wolf Statues can offer you these materials as rewards – but only if you can find them! Below, we’ll show you where to find all Wolf Statues in Doom: The Dark Ages, plus the rewards you get from them.

Where to find Wolf Statues in Doom: The Dark Ages

Wolf Statues in Doom: The Dark Ages are hidden collectibles found across four key chapters: The Siege Part 1 (Chapter 6), Ancestral Forge (Chapter 9), Kar’Thul Marshes (Chapter 16), and Resurrection (Chapter 20). These statues must be destroyed by throwing your shield at them, which breaks a protective barrier around valuable rewards such as Rubies and Wraithstones used for weapon upgrades. Each chapter features a set number of Wolf Statues-ranging from three to five-that are often located near the treasure they guard, sometimes requiring defeating enemies or finding secret keys to access. Notably, the Kar’Thul Marshes chapter contains the most statues, with five scattered around the map, including one behind a locked door. Destroying all Wolf Statues in a chapter unlocks the treasure they protect, making them essential for progressing and enhancing your gear in the game.

Wolf Statues are guardians of unique treasures, and each of them are linked to other Wolf Statues, which are hidden around each level and will break if you throw your shield at them. The barrier protecting the item only disappears after all the statues in a given level are destroyed.

You can know how many statues you must find by counting how many are around the barrier. To identify the ones you must break, just look for wolf statues that are glowing red. As you eliminate Wolf Statues around the map, the translucent statues around the barrier turn into stone.

Here’s a list of all Wolf Statues in Doom: The Dark Ages, including details about how to find them.

The Siege – Part 1 (Chapter 6)

In Chapter 6, The Siege – Part 1 of Doom: The Dark Ages, players must locate and destroy three Wolf Statues to unlock a Ruby reward used for weapon upgrades. These statues are found near the Ruby’s location, with the first close by but guarded by enemies including a Vagary, requiring their defeat to disable the protective force field. The second statue is hidden inside a small cave adjacent to the Ruby, while the third is positioned on a rocky ledge opposite the Ruby. Destroying all three statues restores the spectral counterparts and removes the barrier around the Ruby, allowing players to claim their prize.

There are three Wolf Statues in Chapter 6 guarding a Ruby, and while this map might be a little bit byzantine, finding all three statues is not too much trouble.

To find the statues, turn right from the main gate. Go ahead for a while, destroy a massive tank and then look to your left. You will see, a little higher from where you are, the three translucent wolves around the Ruby.

Now, the ones you need to break are considerably close. The first one is right beside the area where the Ruby is. You need to first kill all the enemies – which involves defeating a Vagary – in the area to disable the force field around it.

The second statue is hidden inside a small cave next to the ruby as well. You can easily see the statue from where the Ruby is.

The final statue is in the opposite direction from the Ruby. When facing the statue holding the Ruby, turn around and you will see the Wolf Statue.

Ancestral Forge (Chapter 9)

In Chapter 9, Ancestral Forge of Doom: The Dark Ages, players must find and destroy three hidden Wolf Statues scattered on the left side of the map to unlock a valuable Wraithstone, essential for fully upgrading weapons. The first statue is near the altar, while the second requires obtaining a Purple Key by defeating a leader in the red zone and unlocking a Purple Gate. The third statue lies between two red zones, guarded by enemies whose defeat removes the protective barrier. Once all three statues are destroyed, the spectral barrier protecting the Wraithstone disappears, allowing players to claim this crucial upgrade material.

While you try to make the Ancestral Forge work again, you can look for the three Wolf Statues hidden in Chapter 9. You will receive a Wraithstone once you find all of them, the only material that unlocks a weapon’s final upgrade.

The Wraithstone and the three Wolf Statues are located on the left side of the map. You can find the first Wolf Statue by turning right to where the altar is.

Before you even start looking for the second statue, you should get the Purple Key. To find it, you want to leave the main gate, turn right and head toward the red zone in this direction.

You need to first defeat the leader in this zone, but once you’re done, you can look for the entrance to the corridor to the left side of the arena that will take you to the key. Break it with your shield and you can get the Purple Key.

Go back to where you started in this chapter and you will find a Purple Gate. Open it with the key to find the second Wolf Statue.

Now, you can find the third and last statue by going to the opposite side of the map from where the Wraithstone is. You will find it in an area between the two remaining red zones. It is protected by some enemies, but killing them disables the barrier around it.

The Kar’Thul Marshes (Chapter 16)

In Chapter 16 of Doom: The Dark Ages, titled The Kar’Thul Marshes, players encounter the highest number of Wolf Statues in the game, with a total of five scattered throughout the expansive marshland. Destroying all five statues unlocks a valuable Wraithstone, essential for the final weapon upgrade. While four statues are relatively accessible, the fifth is hidden behind a locked door requiring a secret key. After breaking all the statues, players must return to the area beneath the center of the map to collect the Wraithstone, completing the Hunter challenge and advancing their weapon mastery.

Chapter 16 has five Wolf Statues hidden in the first map. It features the highest number of Wolf Statues, but you won’t need to explore weirdly hidden corridors to find them. And once you do get all the five statues, you receive a Wraithstone.

You find the main statue with the reward in an underground section of the map, which you can access by jumping from an opening. Visit the room and turn right, following a short corridor to find the first Wolf Statue.

Now, taking the starting point of this chapter as a reference, follow the wall to your left and turn left to find the second Wolf Statue.

Keep following the same direction but downward. Enter a larger corridor beside a red zone. To the right side of it, you will find a lower segment on the map where you can jump and find your third Wolf Statue.

On the same side of the map, you find the fourth Wolf Statue a little bit South of where you found the third. It is outside the map, so you must get close to the edge to see it.

The last Wolf Statue is a little bit to the left side from where you found the fourth one. You can see that it is the segment of the map above the area where the Wraithstone is. There is a giant tentacle that you must fight before the path to the statue is completely available though.

Resurrection (Chapter 20)

In Chapter 20, Resurrection, of Doom: The Dark Ages, players can find four Wolf Statues scattered across the map. Unlike some previous chapters, none of these statues require unlocking secret doors, making them relatively accessible. To collect the reward, players must destroy all four statues by throwing their Shield Saw at them, which then removes the protective forcefield around the reward. Completing this puzzle grants a Wraithstone, a valuable material needed to unlock the final upgrade for one of the Slayer’s main weapons, aiding in weapon mastery and unlocking gold skins. The statues are located near key landmarks such as ledges, under bridges, and close to cultist circles, encouraging thorough exploration of the area.

For the final batch of Wolf Statues, you need to reach Chapter 20 “Resurrection.” This area is enormous, but all four statues are around the area on the opposite side from where you begin.

The reward for finding and destroying all Wolf Statues in this chapter is a Wraithstone and you can find it to the right of the largest red zone on the map.

The first Wolf Statue one you find in a tight corridor a little bit to the Southeast from where the Wraithstone is.

To find the second Wolf Statue, you want to leave the corridor where you found the first one and turn right. There is an armored Mancubus protecting a canon and on the top of the wall behind them, you will find the statue.

Your next target, the third Wolf Statue is close to where the Wraithstone is. If you leave the room where the reward is located by the door on the South side and turn left, you find the statue next to some debris.

Where are the hidden Wolf Statues guarding rare treasures in Doom: The Dark Ages

The hidden Wolf Statues guarding rare treasures in Doom: The Dark Ages are scattered across four key chapters, each requiring you to destroy all statues in a level with your Shield Throw to unlock valuable rewards like Rubies and Wraithstones.

  • Chapter 6: The Siege Part 1 – Three Wolf Statues are located near the Ruby treasure. One is close to the Ruby behind a force field that requires defeating nearby enemies, another is inside a small cave adjacent to the Ruby, and the last is on a rock opposite the Ruby’s position.

  • Chapter 9: The Ancestral Forge – Three statues are spread out, including one behind a combat encounter, another behind a locked gate requiring a secret key, and a third perched on a high cliff overlooking the area.

  • Chapter 16: The Kar’Thul Marshes – The largest cluster with five statues placed in diverse locations such as cliff edges, swampy areas near tentacles, and tunnels near the central Shrine. Destroying all completes the Hunter challenge.

  • Chapter 20: Resurrection – Four statues hidden in underground chambers, cliff edges, tunnels beneath bridges, and near combat encounters with tough enemies. Completing this puzzle restores the wolf effigies.

Each statue glows red and is linked to others in the level; the protective barrier over the treasure disappears only after all are destroyed, making exploration and combat essential to claim these rare rewards.

Are there any secret Wolf Statues in less obvious areas of the levels

Yes, there are secret Wolf Statues hidden in less obvious areas across several levels in Doom: The Dark Ages. For example:

  • In Chapter 9: The Ancestral Forge, one Wolf Statue is located in a secret area behind a gate locked by a Purple Key, guarded by a Nightmare Imp Stalker. This statue is not immediately visible and requires finding the key and defeating enemies to access it.

  • In Chapter 16: The Kar’Thul Marshes, several statues are tucked away in hidden spots such as small crevices, tunnels near the central Shrine, swampy areas guarded by tentacles, and cliff edges that require careful exploration to find.

  • In Chapter 20: Resurrection, some statues are found in underground chambers, tunnels beneath bridges, and on cliff edges that are easy to miss without thorough searching. One statue is behind a tough combat encounter with an Armored Mancubus Enforcer, adding to the challenge of reaching it.

These hidden Wolf Statues often require defeating enemies, unlocking gates with keys, or exploring less-traveled paths, making them rewarding secrets for players who explore carefully and engage fully with the environment.
