All bots in ’Trapped In Time’
In the “Trapped In Time” level of Astro Bot, there are seven bots to rescue, scattered throughout the stage. The first two bots are found before entering the cave section, with one located after using the chicken power-up to defeat enemies and pull a chain, and the other hidden behind a glass circle near a waterfall. Inside the cave, three more bots can be found by interacting with rotating cube enemies and using power-ups to reach hidden areas, including the Desert Wanderer bot, a nod to the protagonist from Journey. After exiting the cave, the final two bots appear, one popping out of holes in the ground and the last one carried by a bird in a grassy area near the level’s end. Alongside these bots, three puzzle pieces are also hidden throughout the level, accessible by hitting specific objects and breaking glass floors.
There are seven bots in “Trapped In Time.” You’ll find the first two before you go inside the cave section of the level, the next three inside the cave, and the final two once you leave the cave.
Bot #1 location

You won’t find the first bot for a little while in this level, so proceed past when you get the chicken and first lift the platform out of the ground.
Eventually, you’ll find a platform that has a separate spiral platform to the right, a goop monster above, and a sand waterfall that’s covering a caged bot. To get in there and save the little guy, boost up, kill the blob monster, pull the lever it was sitting on, and jump down to rescue the bot.
Bot #2 location

Proceed through the level from bot #1, taking the spiral platform, defeating the snake, and continuing your climb. Once you drain the blue hourglass and bust through the ceiling, head over to the right of the new platform, past the circular gray disk with the lever on top. Drop off the side and walk through the sand waterfall here, defeating the two pink enemies. You’ll find yourself in a small cave that has a bot at the back. Rescue them.
Bot #3 location

Once you enter the inside of the hourglass, break the metal block that’s moving to create a static platform and reveal a generic bot. Rescue them before moving on.
Bot #4 location

Just before you lift the massive bridge out of the ground, you’ll find some moving metal boxes in the poison lake to the right. Cross them (destroying them as you go) and then boost up when you reach the final platform. You’ll reach another PlayStation bot hanging in the mouth of a gold snake statue. Grab them and then head back to the main path.
Bot #5 location

From bot #4, once you cross the big stone bridge, destroy both purple snakes. Once they’re gone, the purple lake in the middle of the platform will drain automatically, and some grass will grow on the edges. Dig down using your charged melee in the center where the glowing spot appears, and you’ll find a bot waiting for you at the bottom.
Bot #6 location

Once you’re back outside in the hour glass, boost through the bottom of the spike platform until you reach the next checkpoint. Defeat the enemies and some “gophers” will start popping out of holes near the checkpoint. If you watch long enough, you’ll see that one of them is actually a generic bot. Liberate it and proceed to the final bot.
Bot #7 location

The final bot is near the exit, so proceed forward until you boost into the upper part of the level. Once you can see the exit, boost up to the tree on the right. If you stand on top, you’ll see a bird flying around with the final bot in its clutches. Wait for it to get close and then jump off and hit the bot mid-air.
All puzzle pieces in ’Trapped In Time’
In the “Trapped In Time” level of Astro Bot, players can find a total of seven bots and three puzzle pieces scattered throughout the stage. The bots are distributed with two located before entering the cave, three inside the cave, and the remaining two found after exiting it. The three puzzle pieces require careful exploration: the first appears when gliding into the level by hitting a golden snake, the second is hidden inside a bottle reached by using the Chicken Jet Pack and solving a rope puzzle, and the third lies beneath a fragile glass floor near the end of the cave section, accessible after defeating electrified enemies and dropping down to a ledge below. Collecting all these items is essential for completing the Crash Site and unlocking additional features like the Changing Room and Gatcha Machine.
There are three puzzle pieces in “Trapped In Time.” The first is before the level starts, the second is before you go inside, and the third is before you go back outside.
Puzzle piece #1 location

The first puzzle piece in “Trapped In Time” appears before you even land in the hourglass. As you’re flying in on your DualSense ship, you’ll pass some coin containers and then a large sand dune on your left. On this sand dune, you’ll see a golden snake with a familiar glow emerge as you get close. Hit the snake with your ship and it’ll release the puzzle piece ahead of you. Fly into the puzzle to get it.
This piece can be pretty annoying to get, but thankfully you can restart the mission very quickly if you miss it. If you’re really struggling, consider turning the motion controls off to make precision flying easier.
Puzzle piece #2 location

The second puzzle piece can’t be reached until after you break the first blue hourglass, drain it of liquid, and then pop the cork. From that platform, turn left and kill the green blob sitting under the platform. Pull up the wires to grab a flower booster. Use it in conjunction with your rocket ability to reach the top of the platform where you fought the slime.
At the top, you’ll see a train of enemies and another hourglass. Kill the enemy train and pop the hourglass open to get the second puzzle piece.
Puzzle piece #3 location

The final puzzle piece is just after you use the flower lever on the inside of the hourglass, which you reach after boosting up past the arrows stuck in the wall. Jump across the platforms until you reach a checkpoint and a glass floor covered in gold. Defeat the enemies and then break through the glass on the right side. Drop down and land on one of the platforms. The puzzle piece is in a nook nearby, before you boost back up.
What secrets do the ’Trapped In Time’ bots hold in Astro Bot
The ’Trapped In Time’ bots in Astro Bot hold the secret of being scattered collectibles that players must rescue to complete the level and unlock special content. Among the seven bots hidden throughout the level, two are iconic PlayStation mascots, including the Desert Wanderer from the game Journey. These bots are often trapped behind environmental puzzles, such as cages hidden behind sand waterfalls, inside rotating cube enemies, or hanging from golden snake statues. Rescuing them involves defeating enemies, using power-ups like the Rocket Chicken booster, pulling handles, and navigating tricky platforms. Collecting all bots not only completes your Crash Site but also reveals connections to other PlayStation worlds and characters, enriching the game’s narrative and exploration experience.
What hidden abilities might the ’Trapped In Time’ bots reveal in Astro Bot
The ’Trapped In Time’ bots in Astro Bot do not explicitly reveal new hidden abilities themselves, but their rescue is intricately tied to using and mastering the level’s unique power-ups and mechanics. For example, the Rocket Chicken booster is a key ability players must use to reach bots trapped behind barriers, rip off parts of rotating cube enemies, and access hidden areas. Players also need to perform charged spin attacks to defeat certain enemies and use precise timing with handles and platforms to free bots trapped in cages or hanging from statues. Thus, while the bots don’t grant new abilities, their locations encourage players to fully utilize and combine existing abilities like the Rocket Chicken boost, spin attacks, and laser boosts to progress and uncover all secrets in the level.
