Hidden in the wilds of Faron, the Ishokin Shrine challenges players with a clever test of timing and precision. This guide walks you through every puzzle, route, and reward so you can claim its Light of Blessing with confidence.
Ishokin Shrine location
The Ishokin Shrine sits on a small island in the Lanayru Wetlands, south of the Lanayru Tower and east of the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower. Coordinates are (1418, -0689, 0094). Fast travel to the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, launch eastward from there, and glide southeast toward the shrine’s glowing green entrance on the isolated islet amid the water. Swim or use a raft if needed to cross the final stretch from nearby shores.
Ishokin Shrine is in the Faron Grassland region of Hyrule, a bit west of Highland Stable. The exact coordinates are (-0566, -3523, 0129).
Ishokin Shrine walkthrough
Inside the Ishokin Shrine, you’ll find a series of timing-based platform puzzles centered around the use of Fans and Launchers. Activate the devices to propel yourself across gaps and reach higher platforms, adjusting the airflow direction as needed to collect chests along the way. The final section requires precise use of the Fan-powered lifts to reach the exit. Completing the shrine rewards you with a Light of Blessing.
If you go straight to the Ishokin Shrine coordinates, though, you won’t find a shrine. Instead, you have to go talk to Baddek a bit to the northwest at (-0695, -3394, 0172). He’ll tell you about his hobby of horse-spotting and then show you the mysterious crystal he found. Before he’ll hand it over, he asks you to bring him an enormous horse he’s been hearing about, and points you to Highland Stable to the east at (0519, -3442, 0047). This starts the “Ride the Giant Horse” shrine quest.
The horse he’s referring to is the Giant White Stallion. We’ve got a guide for how to catch and tame the Giant White Stallion. Once you have your new giant horse, ride back to Baddek.

From Highland Stable, follow the road west as it winds through Harfin Valley, across the Menoat River, and to the dead end on the map (the road continues in the world) near Pappetto Grove. From there, just keep riding west until you spot Babbek’s fire. Aim for the green spots as you maneuver your beefy horse up the rocky slope, where you’ll get the crystal.

There are some Zonai sleds and steering sticks to the left of Baddek’s camp, but it’s not too far to just carry the crystal with Ultrahand. Be very careful setting it down because it really wants to roll downhill and away from you – we learned this the hard way.
How to tame and register the Giant White Stallion
The Giant White Stallion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a unique, massive horse required for the Ishokin Shrine quest, located in the Faron Grasslands near the Lake of the Horse God (southeast of Highland Stable at roughly 0738, -3729, 0080).โ
Preparation Tips
Boost your stamina to at least two full wheels (or use Endura Carrots/Elixirs) since taming drains over two wheels-cook single Endura Carrots found on Satori Mountain for full stamina restoration. Equip Stealth Armor, eat stealth-boosting food (e.g., Restless Cricket elixir), or cut grass near stables for crickets to sneak undetected; unequip weapons and shields to minimize noise.โโ
Taming Steps
-
Approach from behind while crouching (sneak) in the glade past Horse God Bridge south of Highland Stable.
-
Press A to mount when prompted, then rapidly mash L-stick to soothe as the stamina bar depletes.
-
Pause mid-tame (via game menu) to eat stamina foods/elixirs if the bar runs low; repeat until the horse calms (may take 1-2 pauses).โโ
Registering the Horse
Ride the tamed stallion north to Highland Stable, speak to the stablehand, and register for 20 Rupees-note its fixed stats (Strength 5, Speed 2, no stamina drop at full gallop) and inability to equip custom bridles/saddles. Feed apples afterward to max bond for better handling.โโ
What are the exact stats and strengths of the Giant White Stallion
The Giant White Stallion in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has fixed stats that make it exceptionally strong but limited in speed and utility.โ
Core Stats
-
Strength: 5 stars (highest possible, granting superior HP and resistance to damage).โ
-
Speed: 2 stars (decent base movement but slower than top-tier horses).โ
-
Stamina/Pull: N/A (infinite stamina with no dash/spur ability and cannot equip harnesses for towing).โ
Strengths and Limitations
Its massive size and top Strength allow it to withstand heavy combat damage and traverse rough terrain effectively, ideal for the Ishokin Shrine quest or tanking enemies. However, low Speed and lack of galloping make it unsuitable for racing or quick travel, and it cannot be upgraded at the Horse God (Malanya). Temperament is Wild, requiring more soothing during taming.โโ
