Hidden within the frozen peaks of Hebra, the Kahatanaum Shrine challenges players with a clever gravity-based puzzle that tests both timing and precision. Here’s where to find it and how to solve every step without missing a single secret.
Kahatanaum Shrine location
Kahatanaum Shrine is located on Courage Island, high above the West Hebra Sky Archipelago at coordinates roughly (-3395, 2385, 0646). To reach it, travel to the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower in Hyrule Ridge and launch yourself into the air, gliding northwest toward the floating islands in the sky. The shrine rests on the main circular platform of Courage Island, accessible after completing the diving challenge that begins at the top ring of the island.
The Kahatanaum Shrine is found within the Hebra Mountains Sky region as part of the Rising Island Chain northwest of the Wind Temple. The exact coordinates are (-3294, 3430 1347).
You can access the chain by gliding down from the Wind Temple. If you need additional instructions on how to navigate the island chain, you can find them while following the “Tulin of Rito Village” quest chain.
Kahatanaum Shrine puzzle solution
Inside the Kahatanaum Shrine, use the Ultrahand ability to connect the metal platforms and form bridges across the gaps. Move the larger platforms first to reach higher ledges, then adjust their angles to create stable paths. Once you reach the final section, attach the slanted platform to redirect the ball into the target receptacle. This opens the gate to the final area, where you can claim the Light of Blessing from the shrine’s chest.
Tulin of Rito Village quest full walkthrough
Here’s a concise, step-by-step walkthrough for the “Tulin of Rito Village” main quest in Tears of the Kingdom.
1. Starting the quest in Rito Village
-
Go to Rito Village as part of “Regional Phenomena.”
-
Climb up through the village until you reach Teba, Saki, and Tulin arguing near the top platforms; talking to Teba here starts “Tulin of Rito Village.”
-
After the cutscene, Teba sends you to find Harth at a distant lodge to the north (Hebra Trailhead Lodge, between two bonfires you can see from Teba’s platform when you look across the valley).
2. Talk to Harth and find Hebra South Summit Cave
-
Glide from Rito Village toward the twin bonfires (or go via Rospro Pass Skyview Tower and travel east if you lack stamina).
-
Enter Hebra Trailhead Lodge and talk to Harth; he explains that Tulin went north to look for supplies.
-
Head north from the lodge to meet the Rito Cecili on the path; they point you to Hebra South Summit Cave, whose entrance is marked by a bonfire.
3. Explore Hebra South Summit Cave and chase Tulin
-
Go into the cave and talk to Laissa near the entrance; she says Tulin is deeper inside.
-
Follow the thorn-lined path through the cave until you reach a tall vertical chamber with a strong updraft.
-
Jump and use your paraglider to ride the updraft to a side opening in the cave wall.
-
Continue along this route, dealing with or ignoring enemies (such as a Horriblin and Stone Pebblits) as you follow the only path forward.
-
You reach a room with an unlit campfire surrounded by water and some barrels nearby. Break the barrels to get Hylian Pine Cones, then:
-
Place some flint by the fire and strike it with a metal weapon to light the fire.
-
Throw a Hylian Pine Cone into the flames to create a huge updraft.
-
-
Ride this updraft with your paraglider into a higher opening and follow the tunnel to find Gesane, who tells you Tulin left the cave.
-
Exit the cave through the nearby path to reach the surface again.
4. Meet Tulin on Talonto Peak and recover his bow
-
From the cave exit, look north toward the tall peak (Talonto Peak).
-
Climb or glide your way up, using nearby wind gusts to help with the last stretch.
-
At the top, near a lone cedar tree, you find Tulin and start a cutscene.
-
After the talk, Tulin asks you to help get his bow back from a flying monster (an Aerocuda) nearby:
-
Use Tulin’s new wind ability (Power of Wind) to boost your glide onto the enemy’s platform.
-
Shoot the Aerocuda with your bow so it drops Tulin’s bow.
-
Defeat any enemies and retrieve the bow.
-
-
Once you return the bow to Tulin, he joins you as a companion and suggests using the blizzard’s winds to reach the sky islands.
5. Reaching the Rising Island Chain
-
From Talonto Peak, follow the quest marker up toward Hebra Peak and the large blizzard above.
-
Use Tulin’s gust mid-glide to cross big gaps and reach the first group of sky platforms.
-
You are effectively on the Rising Island Chain now:
-
Jump between icy platforms and small floating islands using Tulin’s wind boosts.
-
Fight or avoid Construct enemies as you move upward.
-
-
You soon spot Mayaumekis Shrine on a nearby floating island; glide over and activate it to create a very useful fast-travel point.
-
Continue along the chain:
-
Use ships with fabric sails that launch you upward and restore stamina when you land on them.
-
Use Ascend under tall pil

How to defeat Colgera boss in Tulin quest
Colgera is the Wind Temple boss fought at the end of the Tulin of Rito Village quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The entire battle occurs midair above the temple, with your stamina refilling each time you close and reopen your paraglider.
Core Strategy
Colgera has three weak points (glowing purple crystals) on its icy underbelly-one near the head, one in the middle, and one near the tail. Shoot arrows at these crystals to destroy them; fusing Bomb Flowers or Eyeballs speeds this up significantly. Alternatively, dive directly through the ice after it sheds spikes to deal massive damage without arrows.
Phase 1
-
Stay airborne using your paraglider and Tulin’s Gust ability (summon him with the Vow icon).
-
Dodge Colgera’s charges: It vanishes into glowing portals (often below you) and bursts out-dive sideways with R to evade.
-
When it sheds blue ice spikes upward, glide above a weak point and shoot the crystal below, or dive through the hole.
-
Repeat for all three crystals to trigger Phase 2.
Phase 2
-
Colgera regrows its ice and adds tornadoes around itself-use Tulin’s Gust to burst through or skirt them.
-
Attacks intensify with more frequent charges and spikes, but the strategy stays the same: target and break the three crystals again.
-
Position low, then glide up with Gust for clean shots; arrows or dives both work.
Tips
-
Stock 100+ arrows, Bomb Flowers, and cold-resistant food/gear before the temple.โ
-
Rewards: Heart Container, Tulin’s permanent Sage Vow (wind boosts anywhere), and clears Hebra’s blizzard.
