This week is the Lunar New Year and begins the Year of the Snake. To celebrate, there are a few themed events happening in GTA Online this week (and into next).
The Featured Series in Legion Square has three new Lunar New Year Stunt Races (with lanterns and fireworks) to participate in. All three will be rewarding 2x GTA$ and RP all week.
Competing in any of the races will score you the Lunar New Year livery for the Maibatsu Penumbra FF (which happens to be 30% off) through Feb. 12. Win two of the Stunt Races, and you’ll complete the Weekly Challenge for an extra GTA$ 100,000.
There are also new Yuanbao Collectibles hidden around the island. You’ll find 36 of them scattered all throughout Los Santos. Each one you pick up will earn you GTA$ 888 and 888 RP, plus an extra GTA$ 88,888 for grabbign the final one. Collecting all 36 rewards you with the Santo Capra Gold Snake Outfit.
Meanwhile, just logging in anytime before Feb. 12 will earn you some Lunar New Year- and Year of the Snake-themed rewards like the Black Snake Yogarishima Outfit, Red Serpent Leather Jacket, Snake Soul Pendant, Snake King Pendant, Red Snake Soul Cap, and Gray Snake King Cap.
