How to draft Her Ladyship’s Chamber in Blue Prince
To draft Her Ladyship’s Chamber in Blue Prince, you need to focus on the west wing of the estate, as the chamber only appears there. The room must be drafted from a southern-facing door on the left side of the house, reflecting its connection to Her Ladyship’s childhood home in Eraja. To increase your chances, gather Ivory Dice for rerolls, draft the Study to accumulate gems for more rerolls, obtain the Banner of the King, and select purple-marked bedrooms. Solving the chess puzzle and reaching 50 stars to use the Inkwell constellation for redrawing rooms can also help. Keep in mind that drafting this chamber is rare and challenging, so strategic planning over several days is essential.
The description of Her Ladyship’s Chamber has a couple of clues about where in the estate it can be drafted. Specifically, it says that the room is in the west wing of the house and that it’s a tribute to her childhood home in Eraja – the kingdom to the south (based on other clues around the estate). This means that you can only draft Her Ladyship’s Chamber on the left side of the house and from a door facing south.
You can do a few things to help you draft Her Ladyship’s Chamber beyond the layout of the estate:
- Collect some Ivory Dice for the rerolls
- Draft the Study and collect a bunch of gems, again, for rerolls
- Solve the chess puzzle, pick the Banner of the King, and then select bedrooms (purple)
- If you’ve hit 50 stars, you can find the Inkwell constellation in the Observatory that lets you spend stars to redraw rooms
Getting the room is only the first part of the problem, though. You’ll also need to get the Diary Key.
Where to find the Diary Key in Blue Prince
The Diary Key in Blue Prince is found inside the Tomb, a secret area accessible by lighting two unlit candlesticks located within the Tomb. To do this, you need either a Self-Ignited Torch, purchasable from the Armory after solving a chess puzzle, or a Burning Glass, crafted by combining a Magnifying Glass and Metal Detector in the Workshop. After acquiring one of these items, store it in the Coat Check if the Tomb is not your outer room for the day. Then, draft the Tomb, retrieve the torch or burning glass, and use it to light the two candles on the west side of the Tomb. This action reveals a hidden chamber with a grave; behind the photo on top of the coffin lies Lady Epsen’s Diary Key. Once obtained, keep the key in the Coat Check until you can draft Her Ladyship’s Chamber to unlock the diary.
Even if you manage to draft Her Ladyship’s Chambers, you’ll still need to unlock the diary. The Diary Key requires it’s own quest to find. First, you’ll need either a Burning Glass or a Torch.
- For the Self-Ignited Torch, you’ll have to solve the chess puzzle, you can select the Mantle of the Knight to add the Armory to your draft pool. That will let you buy a Self-Ignited Torch.
- For the Burning Glass, you’ll need to find a Magnifying Glass and a Metal Detector, and then draft the Workshop. That will let you combine them to craft the Burning Glass.
Once you have either of those items, it’s probably safest to store it in the Coat Check until.
Next, you need to draft the Tomb as your Outer Room. You’ve probably already been here to solve the Tomb puzzle and gain access to the Reservoir.
This time, though, you’re looking for pairs of ruby-encrusted candlesticks. When you use the Torch or the Burning Glass on them, a secret passage will open.
There are two pairs of candlesticks in the Tomb. The first pair is immediately left of the main entrance. This secret panel only reveals a small table with an Upgrade Disk and some other goodies.
At the back of the Tomb, between the statues of Joya (chef’s hat) and Rynna (flat-brimmed hat), you’ll find another pair in an alcove. These candles reveal a secret entrance to Lady Epsen’s coffin.
Behind the photo on top of the coffin, you’ll find Lady Epsen’s Diary Key.
Drop the key off in the Coat Check, and then wait until you draft Her Ladyship’s Chamber again so you can open the diary.
What clues are in Lady Epsen’s Diary in Blue Prince?
Lady Epsen’s Diary in Blue Prince provides valuable clues about her experiences sleeping in various bedrooms throughout the mansion, which also hints at potential benefits for the player when ending the day in those rooms. The diary notably includes a sketch on the final page resembling the Antechamber, suggesting that placing the Antechamber in the Outer Room can lead to further puzzles, such as unlocking the Shrine and accessing the Throne Room. These clues guide players in strategizing room drafting and progressing through the game’s mysteries.
For the most part, Lady Epsen’s Diary is about sleeping in various bedrooms. This does apply to Simon, too – if you call it a day in the bedrooms, you’ll get the effects described in the diary.
The most important part, though, is on the very last page. The sketch shows a room that looks an awful lot like the Antechamber in the Outer Room. This is a hint that, with the Blessing of the Monk from the Shrine, you can draft the Antechamber outside. But that’s a clue for another puzzle, the Throne Room.
