Animal Crossing New Horizons Splatoon Items

Guides

Cece and Viché bring a splash of Splatoon style to your island-but getting them isn’t as simple as scanning an amiibo. Here’s how players can access their special appearances, exclusive items, and the secrets behind their arrival in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

How to invite Cece and Viché to your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To invite Cece and Viché to your island, scan their amiibo cards at the Nook Stop terminal inside Resident Services. After scanning, they will visit your campsite for a limited time. Talk to them and complete the crafting requests they give you during their stay. If you fulfill their requests across multiple visits, you can then invite them to move in as permanent residents.

If you want these two idols in your game, you’ll need to scan specific amiibo at the ATM-like Nook Stop machine in the Resident Services building, after building a campsite on your island. This will bring them to your island as campers. After they’ve appeared on your island a few times and you’ve fulfilled any requests they have, they will eventually accept your invitation to stay as a resident, so long as you have an open spot on your island. (Remember, you can only have up to 10 villagers total.) The list of amiibo for the Splatoon villagers isn’t exactly balanced, as the absurd amount of color variations for Inkling amiibo means that Viché has more options than Cece does.

Cece is a female peppy villager and Viché is a female normal villager. Notably, Cece and Viché are both characters from Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome Amiibo, though in the past, they looked more like Callie and Marie. They have been updated to look like Shiver and Frye from Splatoon 3 for this iteration of Animal Crossing.

You’ll need the following amiibo to unlock these specific villagers. Note that using the Big Man amiibo gives you a choice of which of the two you want to invite, so it works for both.

How to unlock Splatoon items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To access the Splatoon-themed furniture, décor, and clothing, first update Animal Crossing: New Horizons to version 3.0 and head to the Nook Stop terminal in Resident Services. Scan any compatible Splatoon amiibo there, such as Inkling, Callie, or Marie, and this will add a special Promotion section to Nook Shopping on both the terminal and your in-game phone. From that menu, you can order the new items one per day just like other collaboration sets, paying with bells and having them delivered to your mailbox the next day.

To get Splatoon items, you’ll just need to scan any of the above Splatoon amiibo at the Nook Stop. Once you do this, you’ll be able to order any of these items from the Nook Shopping app on your phone, under the “Promotion” tab.

If you don’t have any amiibo, you can ask a friend with these items unlocked to mail them to you. The friend in question will just have to pick “Send as Gift” rather than “Place Order” when grabbing the items from the shop. So long as both of you have Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions, you should be able to get these goods in the mail. You can also have a friend physically bring you the items, dropping them on your island, if you’d rather do that, too.

Here’s a list of the items you can buy from Nook Shopping:

If you tell me which specific figures you own, I can say exactly which villager(s) you can get with them.

What Splatoon items do these amiibo unlock in ACNH 3.0

Any compatible Splatoon amiibo in ACNH 3.0 unlocks the same full set of Splatoon collaboration items in Nook Shopping’s Promotion tab; the items do not differ by which Splatoon amiibo you scan.

How unlocking works

  • Scan any Splatoon-series amiibo (or Inkling from Smash) once at the Nook terminal/Photopia/Hotel.

  • After that, the entire Splatoon set appears permanently in Nook Shopping → Promotion, purchasable with bells (limit 5 orders per day as usual).

  • All Splatoon amiibo share this same reward pool; the only thing that differs per figure is which villager (Cece, Viché, or choice via Big Man) you can invite.

Full Splatoon item list (ACNH 3.0)
