Maoike Shrine Location and Walkthrough in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Guides

Hidden deep within the Hyrule Ridge, Maoikes Shrine challenges players with clever puzzles built around precision movement and spatial awareness. This guide details how to reach the shrine’s secluded location and solve every mechanism inside to claim its rewards.

Maoikes Shrine location

Maoikes Shrine is found in the Hyrule Ridge region, west of Lookout Landing and northwest of the Tabantha Great Bridge. It sits near the edge of Lindor’s Brow, slightly above ground level on a rocky platform with a clear view of the nearby hills and forests. The easiest way to reach it is by gliding from the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower or following the path running west from Lookout Landing until you spot the shrine’s green glow in the distance.

The Maoikes shrine is found within the Lanayru Wetlands region.

To access it, you’ll need to discover the Boné Pond East Cave. It’s on the northeast section of Lanayru Wetlands, identifiable as a mountain with a large skull on the top. There are multiple entrances to this cave, but the one you want is located at the very top of the mountain base crawling with Bokoblins and other beasties. Specifically you should head right for the skull at the top. The coordinates for the skull are (2254, 0098, 0136).

Crawl through one of the holes of the giant skull and you should be right in front of the shrine.

With enough stealth, though, you can actually access this shrine without a single enemy encounter! Approaching it from the air is another very easy strategy, heading southwest from the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower and landing right inside the giant skull.

Maoikes Shrine walkthrough

Maoikes Shrine focuses on timing and precision. Inside, players face a series of puzzles involving rotating platforms and moving mechanisms that test balance and observation. Use Recall or Ultrahand to manipulate objects and reach higher areas, then position blocks to bridge gaps. The final section requires launching yourself across a wide space to reach the exit and claim the Light of Blessing.

What rewards are in Maoikes Shrine chest

Maoikes Shrine offers a single chest reward inside the shrine itself. The chest contains a Diamond, a valuable gem used for upgrading gear or crafting high-end arrows.

Shrine Rewards Overview

As a Rauru’s Blessing shrine, Maoikes provides no combat or puzzle challenges internally. Players open the chest for the Diamond right after entering, then claim the standard Light of Blessing by interacting with the altar, which restores health and serves as currency for Heart Containers or Stamina Vessels (four Lights needed per upgrade).

Additional Context from Cave

While not shrine chests, the surrounding Boné Pond East Cave may yield bonus loot from enemies (like Bokoblins), but the shrine-specific chest is solely the Diamond. No other guaranteed chests exist within the shrine structure.

How to reach Maoikes Shrine

Maoikes Shrine lies within Boné Pond East Cave in the Lanayru Wetlands, southwest of Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, and requires navigating enemy-guarded paths or stealthy drops to access.

Stealth Glide Route

Launch from Upland Zorana Skyview Tower and glide southwest past Inogo Bridge toward the skull-topped hill near Boné Pond. Land directly on or near the skull’s opening, then drop or crawl through it to land close to the shrine entrance, bypassing most Bokoblins.

Combat Cave Route

Enter Boné Pond East Cave from the hill’s base on the west side, where Bokoblins and Lizalfos camps block progress. Clear enemies clockwise around the hill, climb watchtowers, free any caged prisoners for loot, and use Ascend on bone platforms or vertebrae to reach higher levels until spotting the shrine northeast.

Key Coordinates

The cave entrance via skull sits around 2251, 0093, 0128, while the shrine itself is at 2275, 0147, 0079. Once inside, no puzzles await-just claim the Diamond chest and Light of Blessing.
