Hidden in The Slums, energy drinks pulse through vending machines like neon heartbeat signals, guiding you from crumbling alleys to high-voltage shortcuts.
Note: You’ll spend both chapter four and chapter six in The Slums, and you can collect all of these cans during either chapter. However, you’ll need to spend all of them before you leave The Slums for good in chapter seven.
In this Stray guide, we’ll show you how to find all four Energy Drink Speed 2K cans and their corresponding vending machines.
Energy drink can 1
Found on a low shelf inside the first floor market stall near the bar, this energy drink can sits next to stacked crates. Jump onto the nearby counter from the alley entrance, then drop down carefully to grab it without alerting the drones. Pair it with the vending machine code 1423 for a quick speed boost in your run.

The first energy drink can is the easiest to find in Stray. From the Guardian that introduces you to The Slums, turn left and follow the path to Morusque, the guitar player. On the right side of the alley, you’ll see two vending machines, one of which has its light on. Interact with the lit-up machine and pick up the Energy Drink Speed 2K can that spits out of it.

Hidden behind a rusted vending panel, grab a bold caffeine boost from Energy Drink 2, then dash to the nearby alleyway to snag the next can before the patrols swing by.

The second energy drink can in Stray is all the way at the opening of The Slums. From the Guardian, do a 180 and follow the twisting paths until you reach the dead end that you climbed in from at the end of chapter three.
From the dead end, turn back around. Follow the alley and take the first left turn you come across. You’ll find a lit vending machine. Press the button and grab the Energy Drink Speed 2K can that comes out.
Energy drink can 3
You can find the third energy drink can in the small alley near the Guardian’s sitting spot. Head to the right from his location toward the area with several vending machines. The machine you need is slightly hidden behind some crates and emits a blue glow when active. Interact with it to obtain the Energy Drink Speed 2K before moving on to the next collectible.

The third energy drink can in Stray is on the rooftops. This time, start from Momo’s apartment (the place the Guardian sends you in the chapter four main story quest). From Momo’s orange sign, ride the bucket down and follow the rooftops right. You’ll find a red vending machine with the light on. Tap the button as usual and grab the Energy Drink Speed 2K can.

The fourth energy drink can is found near the Guardian, close to the main elevator area. Head down the stairs beside the large orange-lit sign, then turn left into a narrow alley with several stacked crates and a vending machine glowing blue at the end. Interact with the machine to collect the can, which you can trade with Azooz for special items.

The fourth and final can is the trickiest to find. Go back to the dead end where you first entered The Slums at the end of chapter three. Follow the path and go down the winding alleys until you find a robot watching TV. Go to the stairs next to the robot and turn around. Above the robot you’ll see a platform that houses a yellow vending machine. Jump up, hit the button, and grab the Energy Drink Speed 2K.
Where to find the best energy drinks in The Slums guide
There are four “best” (and only) Energy Drink Speed 2K cans in The Slums, each from a specific lit vending machine. All four can be collected in either Slums visit (Chapter 4 or 6), but must be spent before permanently leaving in Chapter 7.

Energy Drink 1 – Guardian / Morusque area

Start at the Guardian in the main square. Face the broken elevator, then go down the stairs to the left toward the sewer entrance.

Opposite Morusque (the musician), there are two vending machines; interact with the lit green/blue one to get the first Energy Drink Speed 2K.
Energy Drink 2 – RIP HUMANS alley

From the Guardian, go down the main stairs and follow the alley that leads back toward where you first entered The Slums (the dead-end gate area).

At the end, near the “RIP HUMANS” graffiti/memory, there is a lit white vending machine; press the button to receive the second can.
Energy Drink 3 – Rooftops near Momo / TV couch

Go to Momo’s apartment (the big orange Outsider sign), then head out onto the rooftops.

Move toward the roof with a couch and TV; below or nearby on a lower rooftop is a lit red vending machine that gives the third energy drink.
Energy Drink 4 – Balcony above TV-watching robot / Grandma area

From the area where you first entered The Slums, follow the winding alleys until you find a robot watching TV near some stairs between Super Spirit Laundry and Grandma Clothing.

Climb to the balcony directly above that robot to reach a yellow lit vending machine; interact to get the fourth and final can.

After grabbing all four, visit Azooz in the marketplace to buy B-12’s memory (3 cans) and the sheet music (1 can) before progressing past The Slums.

Azooz only takes Energy Drink Speed 2K cans for two specific items in The Slums.

3 cans: B-12 memory (Ancient Relic) – this is the big lore item you definitely want, and it unlocks a B-12 memory tied to the Outsiders’ past.

1 can: Music Sheet 4/8 for Morusque – needed if you’re going for all eight sheet music collectibles and the related trophy/achievement.
You get exactly four cans in The Slums, so the ideal plan is to buy both of these (3 + 1) before leaving in Chapter 7.
